Problems from the factory, but Geek Squad fixed it

Well, it's great now, but only after the Geek Squad reinstalled the OS. There was something wrong from the factory, which is a rarity for Macs. I was getting the beachball of death every time I tried to share an image. But the Geek Squad fixed it, and it's fantastic now. Apple generally is miles ahead of Windows machines, so I assume this is a one-off problem.

    Macbook Air

I originally had a 2019 Macbook Pro that broke and needed to be replaced. I do both work and photoshop on my laptop and needed a computer with high performance. I ended up going with 16 GB RAM and 512GB storage. It was so easy to transfer my files and it only took 30 minutes to transfer over 20k documents. The battery life is great and I couldn’t be more impressed with its performance and easy portability. I honestly like it more than the Macbook Pro!

Overall verdict: It offers an excellent combination of impressive speed for everyday use, great battery life, and high portability. It's a top contender among laptops for general use, though it is not the ideal machine for intensive gaming or demanding professional creative work. Gaming and performance for you ? The M4 chip provides a performance boost for tasks like photo editing and can handle less graphically intensive games or those optimized for Apple silicon. However, its fanless design means performance can be throttled during extended, demanding gaming sessions, and many major games lack native macOS support. Should you buy? It's a fantastic, reliable machine that offers good value, especially if you're upgrading from an older Intel or M1 Mac. If you're upgrading from an M2 or M3 Air, the performance difference is minor, so the upgrade may not be as significant unless the new features, like support for two external displays, are important to you.

I’m happy about my MacBook 13 with the M4 chip! So much so I want my work laptop to be an Apple! Coming from a PC, there was a little learning curve but what I truly enjoy is you can find anything with the search icon! I did watch some tutorials on using it but in 30 minutes, I was hooked. I love the keyboard and the brightness of the monitor. I have truly embraced the Apple Ecosystem because I have an Apple phone, IPad, AirPods, and MacBook! Don’t downplay the ecosystem! It makes my life easier!

Amazing Upgrade from M1 MacBook Air

This was a massive upgrade from my MacBook Air M1, which I gifted to my son, who uses it for schoolwork. The battery life is amazing, and it runs everything on demand. For external monitors, I recommend buying a Thunderbolt dock that can handle 4K > 60 Hz refresh rate. Due to display limitations, my Apple dock can only display at 60 Hz on my 2K monitor, not 144 Hz. Keep this in mind if you have one or two monitors. I use this laptop mainly for coding and personal work. It's super quick with AI as well.

The best machine I have ever owned

This 13-inch MacBook Air with M4 is the best machine I’ve ever owned. It beats every Windows laptop or Intel Mac I’ve had. It is Ultra-thin and light with its premium aluminum build, it vanishes in my bag. It’s ideal for home or travel. The M4 chip crushes multitasking, light editing, coding, 4K streaming, all while staying dead silent (no fans) and cool. 16GB memory keeps it snappy. The battery is insane with 15+ hours real use, often 2 days without charging. The MagSafe quick-charges and prevents that all to common getting snagged on the charger and dropping your computer... The Liquid Retina display shines bright and vibrant, keyboard and trackpad feel perfect, 12MP Center Stage camera kills video calls, and two external displays with the lid open rocks productivity. Minor gripes: 60Hz screen, base storage fills fast (externals/cloud fix it). No big deals. Pull the trigger! This thing’s a beast. Best machine ever, hands down.
