Honestly stunning. The new airs are fabulous. I have no notes. Can't believe I used to lug around a Pro.

Apple's new MacBook Air 13-inch with the M4 chip is not just an incremental update; it’s a statement. It takes the most beloved laptop in the world and gives it a brain transplant, bringing Apple Intelligence and a new level of performance to the masses. For students, professionals, and everyday users who need a thin, light, and powerful machine that just works, this is the gold standard.
At the heart of this laptop is the Apple M4 chip, a true marvel of silicon engineering. Built on a second-generation 3nm process, the M4 delivers a significant leap in performance over its M3 predecessor. With its 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, this model is a workhorse, effortlessly handling demanding tasks like video editing, multitasking with a dozen apps, and even some light gaming. Benchmarks show a 28% increase in multi-core performance over the M3, making it a powerful contender that outperforms many comparable Windows laptops equipped with Intel and AMD chips. The fanless design ensures it remains silent even under heavy load, though some thermal throttling may occur during extended, intensive tasks.
The most exciting new feature is the integration of "Apple Intelligence." This suite of on-device AI features is powered by the M4's upgraded 16-core Neural Engine. It brings a variety of new capabilities directly to the user, including smarter writing tools, on-the-fly image generation (Genmoji), and a more capable Siri with on-screen awareness. These features are deeply integrated into macOS Sequoia, enhancing productivity and creativity in a personal and secure way. This isn't just a gimmick; it's a seamless evolution of the user experience.
Beyond the raw power, the M4 MacBook Air retains the classic design that has made it so popular. The Liquid Retina display is bright and vibrant with 500 nits of brightness and a 2560 x 1664 resolution, offering crisp text and vivid colors. While some competitors are moving to OLED panels, the Air's display remains excellent for its price point. The build quality is superb, and the laptop is remarkably thin and light, making it a joy to carry. The new Midnight finish is particularly sleek, though it still has a tendency to show fingerprints.
Battery life is another area where the M4 Air excels. Apple claims up to 18 hours of video playback and 15 hours of wireless web browsing. In real-world use, this translates to a full day or more of work on a single charge for most users. This class-leading endurance, combined with the laptop's efficiency, means you can leave your charger at home. Furthermore, the 16GB of unified memory and 512GB SSD configuration reviewed here provides the perfect blend of speed and capacity for a future-proof experience.
In conclusion, the MacBook Air 13-inch with the M4 chip is an outstanding laptop that is easy to recommend. It delivers class-leading performance, incredible battery life, and the future-defining capabilities of Apple Intelligence in a beautifully designed, silent, and portable package. Its lower starting price and thoughtful upgrades make it an even more compelling value, especially for those upgrading from an older Intel-based or M1 MacBook.

Okay, so I got the new MacBook Air M4, and I'm honestly so happy with it. I was torn between this and the Pro, but after thinking about what I actually do every day, the Air was the perfect fit.
First off, it's just so light. I carry it everywhere with me, and it barely feels like there's anything in my bag. It's incredibly thin, and the new "sky blue" color is gorgeous—it's a subtle but beautiful metallic blue that looks really slick.
Even though it's an "Air," the performance is phenomenal. The M4 chip is a beast, and for my daily stuff—tons of web browsing, writing papers, streaming videos, and some light photo editing—it's overkill in the best way. Everything is snappy and responsive, and I've never once heard a fan, which is great because there isn't one! The best part is the battery life. I can use this thing all day, forget to charge it overnight, and still have juice left in the morning. It's truly liberating.
The display is fantastic. It's a Liquid Retina display, and while it doesn't have the fancy ProMotion of the Pro model, it's still bright and colorful. Everything looks sharp and clear, which is perfect for watching movies or working on documents.
And the new Apple Intelligence stuff is actually really cool. I've been using the writing tools to help clean up my emails and it's a huge time-saver. It's not a must-have, but it's a nice bonus that makes the laptop feel even more advanced.
The only real "compromise" compared to the Pro is the speakers and the ports. The speakers are good, but they're not the rich, deep sound you get from the Pro. And you only get two Thunderbolt ports and the MagSafe charger, so I still have to use a dongle sometimes. But for me, those trade-offs are totally worth it for the portability and the lower price.
For what it is, a super-fast, super-light, and gorgeous laptop for everyday use and more, the MacBook Air M4 is an absolute winner. I highly recommend it if you want a powerful Mac without the bulk and extra cost of the Pro.

I recently upgraded to the 13-inch MacBook Air with the Apple M4 chip, and I’m beyond impressed. This laptop is fast, efficient, and beautifully designed. The M4 chip makes everything feel instant—apps launch quickly, multitasking is smooth, and even heavier tasks like photo editing run without a hitch.
The 16GB of memory is perfect for productivity and creative work, and the 512GB SSD gives me plenty of space for files while keeping everything snappy. Battery life is excellent—I can go all day without worrying about charging.
The Midnight color is stunning in person. It’s sleek, modern, and stands out without being flashy. The build quality feels premium, and it’s super lightweight, which makes it ideal for travel or working on the go.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Love My New MacBook Air!
I recently bought the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M4 chip, and I’m blown away by how fast and smooth it runs. The performance feels effortless — apps open instantly, multitasking is seamless, and the battery lasts all day (and then some!). The Sky Blue color is stunning in person — sleek, modern, and definitely stands out.
I use mine for school, streaming, and light creative work, and it handles everything perfectly. The display is bright and clear, and the keyboard feels great to type on. It’s super lightweight, making it easy to carry anywhere. Definitely worth the investment — Apple nailed it with this model!

This poor rating is NOT about the MacBook Air it's about Best Buy. When I purchased the MacBook I at the same time traded a computer. I received my promised money for the trade in, however I did not receive the refund for the tax overage that I paid at time of sale and which the stated ON THEIR website I would receive. No matter the calls I made to the store nor to corporate or the emails, nor the BBB complaint I filed. It's not a lot of money it's the principle.FALSE ADVERTISMENT! BEWARE

I’ve owned plenty of MacBooks over the years, but this M4 MacBook Air is easily the best yet. The moment you open it, you can feel how refined it is. Everything about it just feels effortless. The new Midnight finish is stunning in person, with a deep, almost cosmic tone that changes subtly depending on the light.
Performance wise, the M4 chip is a quiet powerhouse. Apps launch instantly, multitasking is seamless, and the battery life is beyond impressive. I easily get through a full day of heavy work and streaming without thinking about charging. The 16GB of memory gives it real staying power for creative and professional use, and the 512GB SSD is plenty fast and spacious.
The display is bright, crisp, and beautiful, and the speakers continue to surprise me with how full they sound for such a thin laptop. Apple really nailed the balance between power and portability here. It’s incredibly light but feels solid and premium.
If you want a laptop that feels fast, looks elegant, and just works, the M4 MacBook Air is exactly what Apple does best. It’s the perfect daily driver for anyone who values both performance and design.
