I was pleasantly surprised that my local Best Buy had the exact model I wanted in stock. It has more memory and is much faster than my old laptop and it seems the keyboard has a better feel. The biometric fingerprint reader saves time and aggregation. The supplied charger is very fast and it the longer charging cord is much appreciated. The MagSafe charger adds safety and frees up a USB-C port. All in all, a good value.

I've always purchased MacBook Pro models starting with the 2012. Some were better than others. For my professional work, I own the M4 MacBook Pro; it's a fantastic machine. Beautiful display, speakers, solid build, extra ports, great keyboard. But it's heavy, and I had considered an M5 Air and a Neo for mobility. I chose the Air in sky blue. It's just a whisper of a blue, nothing over the top. But apart from it's appearance: The Macbook Air M5 has taken great strides in design and performance. Equal in weight to the Neo, I went with the Air because of the M5 chip and its sleek build; it's been upgraded to 24GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Hope to use this for six years. I don't intend to use it for my freelance work, but if I needed to, I could. The speakers are good, but not as good as those on the MacBook Pro, but they are much better than those on most Windows laptops. I like to play music and podcasts as I work, so not a big deal. The screen isn't as bright as the Pro, but it has a respectable 500 nits of brightness. My work laptop has only 300, so yes. There is one difference that reviewers don't bring up, and that is difference in the keyboard. It's the Magic Keyboard, but the keys are different. On the Air, they are more compact and have less travel. Not as bad as the butterfly keys on the 2019 model of the MacBook Pro. Since this is not a primary laptop, it is OK. It's still quite nice, but not quite the same as the one on the Pro. This is a very solid laptop for most people who want an upgrade over the Neo but aren't needing the power of the Macbook Pro. Best Buy was offering this at a discount on this model--a new release and it was worth purchasing, given inflationary pressures. I decided to pick this up. Best Buy shipped it to my door within 24 hours. This was my third MacBook that I purchased from Best Buy.

**Professor Gives A++** As a professor who practically lives on her laptop, I can honestly say this MacBook Air deserves extra credit! The setup was fast, seamless, and almost suspiciously easy — everything synced perfectly with my iPhone and iPad in minutes. The performance is phenomenal. I regularly bounce between Zoom, Excel spreadsheets, statistical software, multiple browsers, PowerPoints, and way too many tabs open at once... and this little machine just smiles and keeps going. No lag, no drama. The Sky Blue color is also absolutely gorgeous in person — subtle, classy, and just different enough to make me happy every time I open it. Lightweight, quiet, crazy fast, and the battery life feels endless. Honestly, this laptop feels like the overachiever in the front row that somehow makes a 100 look effortless. Apple definitely understood the assignment.

I’m coming from a 2019 MacBook Pro, and even though this is an Air, the computer definitely feels faster and snappier. I’ve been a MacBook user for almost 19 years, and I did look at the ASUS Zenbook to try it out. The OLED screen was beautiful, but I’ve tried ASUS before. While the laptop was good, I missed using a MacBook. I’ve found MacBooks to be consistent, dependable, and just so easy to use. In my opinion, you can’t beat a MacBook, and I’m already enjoying the portability of this small yet powerful enough device.

Super lightweight that you won't even feel that you are carrying a computer around. The performance is amazing, it can be processing a video on the background without any problems while you work on your new project. The midnight color gives it that smooth mean beast look.
