After owning this laptop for nearly 5 months, I would give it 0 stars if I could. Let's start with the good......it's fast, light for the footprint, and Mac OS is a joy..... The rub.....it's a laptop, not a museum piece. I am meticulously careful with my devices, even so after just a month I noticed what appeared to be a spec of dust on the screen, only to realize it was pitting. One pit in the screen, no big deal right? Wrong.....taking EXTRA care to makes sure that the screen, palm rests and keyboard were wiped down after each use, 4 months later there are dozens of small pits in the screen where the palm rests are. Truthfully I am gutted. A $1,500 computer with a screen so delicate that every surface needs to be wiped down and dusted or else the screen gets damages from the smallest of airborne debris? This is ludicrous. I owned many laptops, for work and personal, I've never had a screen develop pitting in it, period. Yet after 4 months of ownership there are spots on my screen that look like dead pixels from damage done....... Now some people will say, user error......it's a LAPTOP! We use these at cafe's, school, work, etc. Mine has been cleaned rather thoroughly, places in a sleeve and always carrier in a backpack with a dedicated laptop sleeve......the worst part, there is no recourse as far as I know, you're basically SOL with Apple and Best Buy. Buyer beware, a great computer that's as brittle as brittle can be. If you plan to use this at home and never close the lid, you might be ok, but if you carry it like a laptop is designed to be carrier, you will eventually ruin the screen.
