Having eagerly awaited the release of the MacBook M2, I was quick to jump on the bandwagon and purchase the base model with 8GB of RAM and a modest 256GB SSD. Unfortunately, my enthusiasm was quickly dampened by the lackluster performance of this configuration. Right out of the box, I encountered significant memory pressure issues, indicated by the persistent yellow warnings that plagued my workflow. Despite its sleek design and promising specifications on paper, the base model struggled to keep up with even basic tasks, let alone demanding applications. The 15-inch display, while visually impressive, couldn't compensate for the sluggishness of the system. Whether I was editing documents, browsing the web, or attempting light photo editing, I found myself frustrated by frequent lag and unresponsiveness. Despite my initial optimism, it became evident that the 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD configuration simply wasn't up to par with the demands of modern computing. While I understand that compromises must be made in the base model, the performance shortcomings were too significant to overlook. Furthermore, I urge potential buyers to take online reviews with a grain of salt. While some may sing praises for the base model, my firsthand experience tells a different story. Within a year, I fear that this configuration will struggle even more as software updates and applications become increasingly demanding. In hindsight, I made the difficult decision to return the base model within the 15-day period. It's clear that investing in the upgraded version with more RAM and storage capacity is essential for a smoother and more reliable user experience. I chose to upgrade to the 16 GB Ram and 1 TB SSD, and that is truly a game changer. It allows this beautiful machine to truly shine. Regrettably, the MacBook M2 15" with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD falls short of expectations, earning a disappointing 2/5 stars from me. Unless significant improvements are made to the base configuration, I cannot recommend it to others seeking a capable and future-proof laptop.

Great computer ,I mainly use it for school, YouTube and personal stuff. Runs fast and the screen is big enough to watch videos anywhere. The audio system is also great .

It’s a great laptop! Lots of space, easy to work with. Also I like how it is not a heavy laptop. It connects to my phone very easily.

Great solid work laptop. Not so heavy for a 15inch laptop. Although it is the 8gb version, it handles so many programming and day today tasks seemingly. It holds battery for so long.

I love this MacBook Air 15 because of the display and thinnest. It's pretty fast and easy to travel with. I would recommend this computer to anyone that is not looking for heavy use of video editing or other pro use.

My son lives this laptop! He is a senior in high school and this will head with him to college next year! Large screen and great picture! Can do everything a student needs!

I got it because of college and it works perfectly fine! I highly recommend it if you want it for job or school, if it’s for gaming than you should consider getting another one

This is my second MacBook and my first MacBook Air. My first MacBook is 13 years old and still works fine. I like the Air for its light weight and versatility.

Ridiculously thin, great construction, and it looks pretty good too. Wouldn’t use it as a primary video editing rig, but as a daily driver for average person tasks, it flies.

The best laptop I’ve ever had. Quick execution of all programs. The finger print safety feature is great, especially if this is a shared laptop. You won’t regret this purchase.
