Excellent MacBook - as good as a Pro

Was on the fence between this one and the Pro. The Pro had one more port and also the silly touchbar; and this one had a better screen. That and the price made this a steal; and my spouse has been using this non-stop and could not be happier. It is fast, the battery is outstanding, the screen is superb. it is very light, and the keyboard feels really nice.

My 2015 15in MacBook Pro was working fine if all I did was web browsing. But I had data on there that couldn’t be synced to my iCloud because the newer MacOS versions stopped supporting my 8 year old device. I didn’t upgrade to the 13in Air because I already have a 12.9in iPad Pro and the 14in and 16in MacBook Pros are way out of my out my budget. When Apple announced the 15in MacBook Air, I had a feeling like this could be the device I wanted to upgrade to so I can have all my data sync to iCloud again. I went and checked it out at a local Best Buy and I liked how light and thin it was compared to my old MacBook. I ended up getting the 8gb RAM 512gb SSD in midnight and I have been loving it so far. The screen size is the perfect size and was pretty much the same size as my old MacBook Pro but the quality is noticeably better on my new Air. The battery life is great too where I can maybe stretch it out to 3 days of light use without charging it. I don’t use the built-in speakers often because I usually AirPlay to my HomePod but they do sound loud and clear whenever I do use them. I do wish Best Buy had the option to configure the RAM when purchasing but regardless the MacBook works great for everyday use probably due to the M2 Chip being very efficient and powerful enough for many tasks. I love the fanless design because the fan on my MacBook Pro would drive me crazy and it would run loud even if it was just on. Overall, if you’re due for an upgrade or want a MacBook with a big screen but don’t have the budget or need the power of the MacBook Pros then this one is perfect.

I upgraded from a 2016 MacBook Air and the difference and ease of use is incredible. The size and battery life are superior to any I have seen. The laptop itself is super lightweight and easy to carry. I bought this for personal use and have had no complaints. It is super fast and performs well when I have a bunch of tabs open. The fingerprint start up button makes it easier to login and make purchases through Apple Pay.

I have owned many Apple laptops over the past 15 years, but this one is the ultimate best, in my opinion. I actually traded in my 2021 16 in. M1 Macbook Pro for this thinner, lighter, and better color model. The M1 Macbook Pro is a great machine, but it was way more than I ever needed in performance as an average user. I bought it because it was the only way that I could get a larger screen as the 13 in. always felt too small for me while traveling. It also didn't leave much of a difference than if I carried my 12.9 IPad Pro. But this 15 in. is everything - I get the great screen size in a lighter form factor that makes it MUCH easier to carry on trips. I got the 8 GB of RAM but upgraded to the 512 SSD because with the new M2 chip, if the system needed more RAM, then it would just share the unused SSD to ensure that there was no slowdown in the performance. It has been working amazingly well that I have made this my primary laptop, even at work, since I added the Parallels software to run Windows. I now have the best of all worlds for pleasure and also business. Apple keeps knocking it out fo the park. I couldn't forget to mention how great the lower price is now for such a great, larger model. I'm happier than I can document.

I LOVE my laptop. It's streamlined, well laid out, intuitive, & the highest quality...as usual. This is my first MacBook Air and I love that it's so incredibly light. Also that the 15" is the same size as my old 13", they just used the entire screen. It's a little workhorse! I wouldn't have any other brand! ❤️

What an upgrade a 15” screen is wow! I had an old intel MacBook Pro and decided it was time to get on the M chip train. Wow am I glad I did this things battery life runs circles around my old one, easily 3-4x less charging. The fact that I can go to bed without plugging in is truly mind blowing! Screen quality: 8/10 it’s no OLED Build quality: 10/10 classic MacBook Sound quality: 7/10 it’s a laptop though it will get by Battery: 11/10 this thing will blow you away Speed: 10/10 more than enough for regular common tasks. I did get 512gb hard drive after reading slow issues with 256gb though

Best purchase I ever made in my life. I bought this to make music specifically since the product only supports Apple devices but apart from that this MacBook has been my companion for 3 years already. It has gotten me through college, work, music career and even personal stuff such as watching movies or listening to music is great. Phenomenal battery life, really strong processor that handles dozen of running apps at the same time easily. I took a hefty loan for this one and payed it off in 2 months and it was worth every cent. One day it’s gonna make me the money back. Best laptop you can get, cuz why need a distracting gaming laptop when you have this productive masterpiece

The MacBook Air M2 is a remarkable addition to Apple's lineup, combining powerful performance with a sleek and portable design. As a proud owner of the M2, I am thoroughly impressed with its capabilities and features. One of the standout features of the MacBook Air M2 is its exceptional performance powered by the latest M2 chip. The M2 chip delivers lightning-fast speeds and smooth multitasking, making it ideal for a wide range of tasks, from everyday browsing and productivity to more demanding creative work such as photo and video editing. Whether I'm streaming high-definition videos, running multiple applications simultaneously, or editing large files, the M2 chip handles everything with ease, without any noticeable lag or slowdown.

This is an excellent laptop, short of the base RAM, and the base storage. Buy it for $999 if you need it now. With so many job/apps being browser-oriented, 256GB isn't much of a practical issue for some, but it is embarrassing for Apple to still be selling something with such paltry storage for one thousand dollars. 8GB of RAM is even more embarrassing, and their only saving grace is the unified memory architecture or they wouldn't have been able to get away with this for as long as they have. That will impact heavy browsing. 12GB-24GB of RAM would be sufficient and needs to be more widely available at more reasonable prices. Only other thing? 90-120HZ, kinda want it badly but that is not needed, nor is it an embarrassing omission considering the immense quality of the display in all other aspects, it is near perfect. Much sturdier and cooler for me than the 13" M2 Air.

The Macbook Air is all I expected it to be. I ordered online and it was ready for pickup later that day. The machine is easy to use. The monitor is beautiful. It is fast for d/l and uploades. It's replacing an aging Dell desktop which is approaching its end of usefullness. The design is very thin and light. Pretty amazing all it can do. I went for the 500Gb SSD drive as anything else I need I can easily attach to and external drive. One final thought. I encountered some setup difficulties but the online chat was easy to access and very helpful in talking me through the problem. I'd score it 10/10. You can't go wrong with this great product.

This laptop has become my daily driver, and it's been nothing short of a game-changer. It tackles everything I throw at it, from editing photos to juggling multiple documents, all while staying super-quiet. The display is a joy to behold, making movies immersive and text razor-sharp. And don't even get me started on the battery life - I barely touch the charger anymore. It's incredibly thin and light, making it my perfect travel companion. The Magic Keyboard is a dream to type on, and the trackpad is so smooth, it feels like an extension of my hand. Whether you're a creative pro, a student, or a busy professional, the 15-inch MacBook Air is a powerhouse in a sleek, portable package. It's not just a laptop, it's an experience.

The MacBook Air 15-inch M2 impresses with a stellar blend of price-to-performance ratio and a captivating Retina display. Packed with Apple's M2 chip, it delivers swift responsiveness for diverse tasks without breaking the bank. The 15-inch Retina display enhances the visual experience, offering vibrant colors and crisp details. While the lightweight design remains a hallmark of the MacBook Air, the larger screen adds a new dimension to productivity and entertainment. Although it might not cater to intensive gaming or resource-heavy applications, its balance of power and affordability makes it an enticing choice for everyday users seeking efficiency and visual excellence.

This is my fourth imac laptop, and as always does not disappoint. It is compact, beautiful and light. There are some surprising issues like getting extra device to attach my usb. I did read about it, but was not ready to make time effort to aqure one. It could have been in the box instead of forcing consumers to buy new gaget.

I recently bought the Apple MacBook Air 15" with the M2 chip, 8GB memory, and 512GB SSD in Starlight color from BestBuy, and it's fantastic. The M2 chip offers incredible speed and smooth multitasking. The Retina display is stunning, and the Starlight finish looks elegant. Despite the larger screen, it's lightweight and portable with impressive battery life. BestBuy's delivery was great, and their financing option allowed me to pay over 12 months without extra fees, making it easy to manage the cost. Highly recommended!

I own two win 11 desktop machines, and what I discovered using the M2 Air (and the M1 previously) was that even though Mac silicon is not necessarily faster than Intel or AMD offerings on paper, the apps on Mac are generally optimized for Apple chips and end up being blazing fast. I used to watch the screen waiting for large files to Unzip on win 11, but on Mac, I blink and it's done - among many other examples: movie rendering, Photoshop effects, CapCut effects and the like. I recently got an M4, and it's even more spectacular. I do still use my win 11 machines for some applications - for instance the Macbook Air cannot drive several HDMI devices, (the M4 is limited to 2 and for my use case even that is not enough). Some might say it's a strange oversight, but Macbook Air is basically a living compromise: few ports, a limited set of capabilities, but what it does, it does incredibly well. Of course, if all your software is Wndows-based, there's no point, and while some will tell you, oh, just use Parallels or Wine or any other emulator, that's actually quite the project - you need a new win 11 license in any case and it' a clunky solution at best. But if you're ok with the compatibility offered by the native MAC office tools like Pages, which will open, edit and save Microsoft Office files, then don't look back. You'll be fine.
