I have owned all types of apple products. all generation iphones, and several ipods. I have owned a imac g5 and a macbook. The macs just get better and better every update. This macbook is superfast and is a great computer. Even though people complain that macs are to expensive, those people dont really understand what they are buying. They come with everything you need, no other software is required to add to your system other than Microsoft office (if you need it). To update the mac in the future is less expensive then updating a windows computer. plus my prior mac's have run for ever. I only upgrade because i wanted the newest technology. Happy buying. Go apple!

Coming from using Windows notebooks this thing is awesome. I used to have to use a mouse because I hated the touchpad, but now I'll never go back to a mouse again with the trackpad on this thing. Fast, boots up under 15s, great battery life & overall performance.

Always was a windows user. Like the MAC! Seems much faster and easier to use. Like the compact size

This is a great laptop. it has the free upgrade to the osx lion. I have very little concern for viruses on this computer. i love all the new features especially a swipe of the fingers throws pages away to go back to the previous. I need to get an external hard drive for more space other than that its great.

My HP laptop finally died on me after numerous issues, so I decided it was time to give in to my techy friends and buy a Mac. I can't say I could be more pleased. The display is crisp, the multi-tasking performance is top notch, and the included apps that I keep discovering are unbelievable. There is so much about using a Mac that is intuitive. The new swipe controls are so convenient and having the Launchpad and Mission Control make switching between apps smooth and quick. I am a believer now. Macs always for me!

While I'm not a fan of other Apple products because it seems like there's something new every few weeks, I must say that this was a great buy. I'm wondering now what took me so long to switch over from a pc. I can't get into the specs much, but for a simple minded person like myself the mbp is still a great power move. I am amazed by something as simple as the amazing battery life. If you are on the fence about getting one then hop off and get one. NOW!!

This computer is blazingly fast. It has never taken more than a second to open any program on the laptop. It is the first computer I ever had that will load a 1080p video just as fast as a 360p video. The aluminum unibody is amazing and very durable. The backlit keyboard is really handy actually. I truly love this computer and recommend it to everyone. It will pay itself on in time. Also, startup is 15 seconds.

I knew I liked Macs before I bought my MacBook Pro, but since I have had my MacBook Pro. I am only more impressed. The screen is incredibly clear, this computer is fast, I use the computer for editing and I can run multiple High demand programs without feeling a loss in speed. I haven't had one thing go wrong with this computer! The Macintosh operating system is years ahead of Windows. Another thing that is almost never mentioned about macs it how quickly the start up. My Mac starts completely in about 20 seconds, and it wakes up from sleep mode in about 5... No PC can do that! I highly recommend this product to anyone who is considering it!!!

But then again I worked for the Evil Empire until recently so that may have been a tough one to justify. Overall, I would rate this laptop as an excellent product that is well designed and performs wonderful.

I love my macbook pro! It is the easiest computer to use, fast great graphics and fun!!!! Wish I would have bought it sooner! I will probably never go back to a pc again...Mac is the way to go!

This is a great mac, if you are thinking of switching from windows to mac, this is a perfect opportunity. If you compare the specs with others pcs, you might find cheaper computers and other brands that offer bells and whistles but lack of the most important part; the Operating System. Snow leopard its a great, solid, user friendly OS. It cost a little bit more but it is worth it

Despite all of my friends adamantly encouraging me to go Apple for my new laptop, I had decided for budget reasons to go PC. That is, until I got into the store. In comparing construction, it was clear right away that the Apple laptops were sturdier and designed with more care than their PC counterparts. Then, in comparing the displays, it's amazing how much clearer the Apple was. What really tipped the scales: that the new Macbook Pros had an i5 processor for the same price as they were charging for the previous model with 2 Core Duo processors. I was sold. In getting it home, it was very easy and intuitive to set up out of the box. After pressing the power button, it booted up in TEN, yes, TEN seconds (comparing this to my previous PC, it's like my PC operated in slow motion). No "bloatware" aka those annoying free programs that are hard to remove. This does an amazing job streaming movies and can handle design programs with a very quick response time. The laptop runs "cool" so no need for a fan, despite i5's sometimes running hot. I don't regret paying a bit extra, considering I'd have to replace a PC laptop again in 2-3 years. This should last me much longer.

I am a life-long PC user (bought this for my daughter who is starting college in the fall). The packaging and overall build quality of this unit is outright, WORLDCLASS! (Just unboxing the thing was a pleasure). The smaller size (13.3" screen) combined with the outstanding (Intel i5) cpu-power, 4GB RAM are a winning combination. The touch pad is very smooth and actually performs multiple functions based on how many fingers you apply.(It even "right-clicks"- for us "PC" types!) Very cool! The screen is the perfect size for portable computing and it is absolutely gorgeous! All this and the battery lasts 7+ hours!! The Mac OS X10.5 is lightning quick and there seems to be no real learning curve to get up and running. The native software is fun (for music, photo, video, etc..) but I did have to purchase Microsoft Office to ensure that all bases of productivity were covered. (I am told that the iwork program, for $79 can suffice..but Office was only $119 and well worth it!). Needless to say I highly recommend that ANYONE who is looking for a high-end laptop that will last for many years, take a hard look at this MacBook Pro!

I really like getting the I5 at a reasonable price since most of the other I5 laptops on the market are at 600 - 700. For the extra price jump you get the Mac and all the rest of the benefits of not being on Windows. I like the keyboard, backlighting, OSX (BSD roots) and overall functionality is great. Some of the programs I enjoy are iCal and Evernote. I did take one off for the display because it is not upgraded over last year's model, but thats not too bad it still looks nice. Go Apple you will enjoy it. For me, I had already been using Ubuntu on previous laptops due to easier access so it wasn't too much of a switch for me.

I was looking for a laptop that had a great amount of memory, was not too big, was not very heavy, and could get work done. So far I am very happy I got this Mac. It is very fast on start up, I especially hate waiting what feels like five minutes for my desktop to start. It has more than enough memory than what I can think of using. I have a lot of music on it, video I have made for one of my classes, essays, reports, and so on. The camera is just amazing! When i video chat, I can see how clear I look on my own screen. The display is awesome, watching hulu is clean and clear. I have not experienced any lagg whatsoever, I do not think I have had to wait for it at all. The keys light up, which is very helpful for when I'm trying to type something up in the middle of the night and do not want my light off. And the battery life is excellent! It only gets drained kinda fast when I'm on skype, but I imagine that it fares a whole lot better than most laptops. What is also great about it is that I can walk with it in my backpack and it is not a pain in my butt. Overall, I recommend this laptop to anyone who wants something that is really fast, and extremely portable.

This is a wonderful machine with best performance, best display. The hard drive (320GB) is not so good, but nothing that a external hard drive can't do.

I have a Mac desktop and wanted a laptop to travel and for portability. I should have known Apple would provide the Mac Book pro with great features I didn't even know came standard. Magnetic cord attachment, lighted keyboard, sleek beautiful design overall. I will have this laptop for many years to come. Well worth the money if you are looking for a laptop for the long term--not just a year or two.

I bought this computer for college and it has been a great computer. Its fast. The only down fall is the price. I would have liked a stand alone graphics card for the price. This compter A++

OK, so maybe I'm a fanboy, but I love the apple products. Again it depends what all you are using it for, but as I am typing this, I have been using my MacBook Pro for nearly 5 hours without charge and I still have 37% of my battery left. Very easy to use, user friendly, Love the MacOS. I've upgraded to Lion and love the entire interface. Don't think I'll ever get a non-apple laptop again.

The last time I used a Mac was back in college; 2002. I had the Mac WallStreet (laptop) and one of the colored iMacs (green). Since then, Apple has been busy! This laptop is amazing! Yes, it is expensive but it is well worth it and a great investment! I decided to go with the MacBook Pro versus the MacBook Air because I would be on eggshells if I went with the Air. I needed something more sturdy and this was it! Brought it home and powered it up, simply amazing. I had to go through the VoiceOver command but I went through the tutorial and BOOM, right after that, I was on the awesome screen with the universe shown. Such a clear and crisp image, I love it! It's so fast too!! The only problem is (and this is a personal issue) prior to this laptop I had a Sony Vaio 17 inch screen. Going from a 17 inch to a 13 inch is a pretty big (small in this case) deal. I would have liked to go for the larger screen size but didn't want to dish out the extra $400. Regardless of how powerful and reliable Mac's are on viruses, I picked up a copy of Norton. This machine is so beautiful, I wanted to protect the inside! Also, I bought the insurance. There is a huge difference between the AppleCare and Best Buy's protection plan. Best Buy covers the accidental damage (which is dropping of the laptop and accidental spills). AppleCare does not cover this!! So, do not buy the AppleCare!!! I also confirmed this with Apple and there exact words were "those two are the only coverage's we exclude". Which is another reason I bought from Best Buy as opposed to Apple. Purchased the Magic mouse as well, UNREAL!! The ease of use and the very little to no work you need to do makes it even more amazing! My next purchase is the Zagg protector for the laptop, it encases the laptop in a thin plastic covering. So, what are you waiting for? Go buy one!!
