Customers praise the MacBook Pro 13.3" for its strong performance, ease of use, and impressive battery life. Many appreciate the keyboard, design, and lightweight portability. However, some customers express concerns about the condition of the pre-owned laptops received and find the price to be high for the included storage and RAM. Love My Mac!

I've been a PC user from day one, and wondered what all the fuss was about. Now I know. Although there's a learning curve, I find the Mac to be far more intuitive than the PC. I also save a lot of time because I'm not downloading and installing software updates because of security threats almost every day. It was ready out of the box. I had to install extra software I had purchased, but even that took less time than on a PC. Two thumbs up! I'm recommending Mac to all my friends and family!

I just bought a previous core 2 duo version exactly 2 weeks ago, until I convinced my friend to buy one..and then i found out that the core i5 version just came out that day. I was so mad, good thing best buy let me exchange it with a new core i5 version with the same price. Boy I can tell the difference in speed.

I have been looking at the macs or a while now and I finally bought one the day the new i5 machine was released and i am very pleased with the performance and usability of the machine. Going from a PC to a Mac, I was expecting a little more of a learning curve but the OS was very easy to learn and set up. The mac has a little different feel to it, but the touch pad is awesome. I was glad that Apple kept the price of the i5 machine the same as the core 2 duo machine, and from other reviews, it is a much better and faster machine. I use this mainly for digital photography and post process with both Photoshop and Aperture and it does not bog down while trying to convert large files or during photomerge processes. My old laptop would just lock up if the files were to large. The display on the MBP is crystal clear and the photos look awesome. I like the size of the 13" machine, it is much more portable and half the weight of my 15.6" Toshiba. I am glad I made the switch from Windows to Mac.

Great for first time Mac owners

I am a professional photographer and I also do a bit of website design. Let me start off by saying that I have been Pro-PC for years. I've always been against purchasing a Mac because of the "price vs. value" factor. Why buy a Mac when you can get a more powerful PC for a third of the price? My old laptop was a Sony Vaio with an i7 processor. It did everything I could possibly want and I could play games on the highest settings without lagging. I could edit HD videos and had no issues with photo editing with Photoshop. I loved the laptop but was curious about Apple and decided to take a leap and give it a try despite knowing next to nothing about the Apple OS and what to expect. I wanted to try something different and I'm glad I did. For my price budget of $1100, this model fit what I was looking for in a personal computer. The i5 processor is fast and the 13" screen is big enough. If I were to upgrade I would probably opt for the 15" screen. Websites are typically too big on this screen resolution and I have to scroll a lot. I definitely won't be able to do any gaming with this laptop's graphics card. I don't see myself doing any Photoshop or video editing work on here either. Right now, I'm just using it as an expensive laptop for browsing on the internet. I haven't found any practical professional use for it since it's not very powerful and it's a little small for editing anything. Despite this, I do love the Mac for a personal laptop. The trackpad is amazing and is honestly what sold me besides the glossy screen. For those not very computer literate I would definitely recommend getting a Mac for its ease of use and great interface. Bottom line: Great personal laptop with wonderful aesthetics and interface. This model is not very useful for photo/video editors or gamers.

Great computer but lousy customer service

I am really impressed with the macbook pro and the Best Buy Sales staff when purchasing it. Unfortunately, I decided to purchase a second power supply also at Best Buy. The Price on the shelves was $79.95 and I was charged $81.95. When I look at the receipt, I told the cashier I was overcharged. She told me I had to go the Customer Service, that had a long waiting line. After waiting in line for a while, I saw a floor Supervisor and told him I had been overcharged, was tired of waiting and not impressed Customer Service. He was not friendly and told me customer service was the only place I could resolve the issue. I did not receive an apology. After I came home, I sent an email to Best Buys customer service that I was not pleased with the service. That was a week ago and still have not received a reply from Best Buy's customer service web site. Even though Best Buy has friendly and knowledgable staff on the floor, it's customer service is on par with Walmart. I will go elsewhere in the future.

A wonderful machine for an "ok" price...

I have owned Microsoft based machines for all of my life and this is my first Mac. The packaging is INCREDIBLE - it is made out of quality materials (just like the laptop). The O.S. is very fast and stable - there is very little to no lag, no matter what you are doing with it. The HD FaceTime camera works amazingly for Skype and FaceTime. The backlit keyboard is wonderful. The aluminum unibody is beautifully constructed and stays VERY cold, the computer stays fairly cool most of the time unless you do some very graphic intense tasks. The 13" screen size, in my opinion is a sweet spot, but the computer itself is quite heavy for a 13" machine. The resolution is 1280x800 and looks great. The MagSafe adapter is awesome and the idea is so great I don't understand why no body else doesn't have a magnetic charger. The keyboard is roomy and has a nice tactile feedback. The price is a little steep, but I guess this is Apple - they can do what they want. When I bought this, Best Buy had it cheaper than the Apple Store. I totally recommend this computer to anybody who is fed up from the problems with windows and someone who wants a really fast, BEAUTIFUL, and nice machine that will last a while!

I went back and forth for about 6 months on whether to get a new pc or switch to a mac. I am very happy that I made the decision to switch to the macbook pro. I haven't had any issues with it, no viruses, no bogging down, it is exceptionally fast, and allows me to multi task on multiple projects at the same time. It did take me about a week to get comfortable, but once I did it was amazing.

All I need to say is WOW. I have been researching the Macbook pros for quite sometime now and always wanted to pull the trigger and buy one. I have been using Windows all my life and I honestly never had any issues with any of my Windows computers. However many people were telling me how great Apple computers are and I should go look into some if I want a great machine that is reliable. So, I pulled the trigger and bought two one for me and my wife. So she doesn't complain haha. I had a desktop Windows PC and two netbooks. So I was really looking for a laptop to replace everything. I wasn't sure if the 13" or 15" was best for me. I chose portability and went with the 13". So far so good no issues at all and the 13" is perfect . I thought I would be squinting at the screen but I sit comfortably on my couch typing this review right now. The backlit keyboard is a great touch and the screen is beautiful. I upgraded to OSX Lion for free since I bought my computer July 14th my computer was eligible. MS Office run perfect and all the adobe software runs like its a second nature. The gestures are really cool also. I had lots of fun when I first opened up the box set up was a breeze and I was up and running within 5 minutes. What can else can I say ......If you are contemplating making the jump to Mac DO IT...it was worth the money I see the value in the product and it was worth every penny. The computer is great I am looking to buy the 8GB upgrade for my ram, and prices aren't bad just avoid buying from apple they want $400.

This is my first Mac after being forced to use them when I was in elementary school. Now, some 20 years later I found myself buying a Mac by choice. I have to say that I am impressed by this machine's performance. I bought this computer after being frustrated by the size and resolution of my netbook's display. The battery life and larger screen were a huge plus for me. I like the 13" form factor over the 9 and 11" laptops and netbooks I had been looking at. I decided on the Pro because the processor upgrades and increased storage over the Air. I did a good bit of research on the two 13" models. Most of the reviews I read commented that the difference between the i5 and i7 models did not justify the increased price tag. So far I have not been disappointed by my purchase. I am new and learning in the ins and outs of OS X but the learning curve is pretty short. Battery and processor performance seem to live up to the claims made by Apple. I have not really pushed the integrated graphics card as I did not buy this machine to game on (that's what my desktop and PS3 are for...); however, it does manage to stream 1080p video without any stuttering. Overall a great laptop! I am happy with my first Mac!!

This was my very first Macbook that I have purchased. I was very happy with the speed of the processor and how light weight it was. I use it primarily for my school work, and will continue to use it while designing web pages. The processor renders the images that I create quite quickly, and that is always a plus.

I love my MacBook Pro. It is everything I want in a laptop. I can video chat, take pictures, store pictures. My laptop is reliable and super fast. I just can't seem to get off of it. Just one set back, it is much harder for me to download pictures from my samsung camera to my MacBook Pro. I am still working on an easier way to download them to my laptop, they just don't download automatically.

I just bought this nice laptop about a week ago, since then use it a lot! I had always laptops, many( 5-6) stuck with HP most of the time. I built many of my desktops, but... I tell you guys I just did a GREAT change from PC to MAC. after 15 years PC experience it was hard to do first, but when I make my decision it was like spread the butter :) I was expecting a little more of a learning issue but the OS was very easy to learn and set up. Before I bought this laptop I read a lots of comments, review. this 13" very portable light weight! Loaded with a lots of great stuff. fast I mean FAST. worth of every penny, I thought first wow this is so expensive, then I remember my first laptop was $2600... come on! I tested this laptop very hard, since I bought it, and I can tell you only great stuff about this laptop! ok guys now I stop my review because you need to buy yours :) I'm very happy with my first Mac!!

Smooth functionality but challenging PC conversion

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Apple technology and look and feel is great. Great screen quality, fast booting and response. However, my transition from a PC isn't as easy as it should be. Had to find and purchase outside software to move my Outlook history to Microsoft's Entourage (essentially Microsoft's Outlook for Apple), the function and short cut keys are missing or different on the PPT, XLS and Word for Apple versions. Can't toggle through open files quickly with the tab key. This has really slowed down my work when I'm in these environments since what I could do in a second with 2 key strokes has become a slow mouse-centric learning process. Several scanner, print drivers and software for equipment I have don't work in Apple. And personally I find that file control in Apple, particularly i-Photo, can be very frustrating; things end up where I don't want them to be. Overall, it's probably worth the transition but it certainly is not seamless and quick and after a month I still have frustrations I can resolve.
