I purchased this laptop for my daughter for college use. She has never used a Mac before but became very comfortable in a couple of days. I will be purchasing a MacPro for myself shortly.

Not my primary computer, which is a 2010 dual quad Mac Pro, but with the ability to connect to my 27" cinema display via the lightening port (runs dual screen, not simply mirroring), it very well could be. Can run CS5 all day long, and has pretty amazing battery life compared to earlier laptops. Plan on upping the RAM to 8gigs, but for a small (also have a 2008 17" MacPro, it just lacks the portability in my opinion) laptop, it certainly does the trick when I'm on the road and have to get some graphics cranked out in a hurry. Just wish the Air packed the same punch as the Pro. Sure, it's not exactly cheap, it's a freakin Mac, but you get what ya pay for.

I don't know why I didn't switch to a Mac along time ago. I loved my sony vaio but this mac is easy to use and much more user friendly to me

Finally switched from PC to Mac and the Macbook Pro has been great. Very fast processor and performance. I like everything about this Mac.

I love my Mac, but I am behind times in technology and I am finding a little hard to figure everything out. It's like being right handed and having to use your left. But so far the quality, speed, camera and much more seem to be paying off. Exceptionally!!

i'm only 15, and i spent my whole summer working my butt off to buy myself a new macbook pro! and it was the best $1,300+ i have ever spent! i can promise you that you will have absolutely no regrets once you get yourself this laptop. i ADORE it! :) the laptop is amazingly thin, small, has a great glossy display, and you can personalize it to your liking! although, the only thing that was bad was when i was purchasing my laptop at best buy, they not only told me they were "out of stalk" for 3 weeks plus, but they also forced me into buying sooo much more then i needed! ex: iWork, some type of security spyware stuff, and they wouldn't let me leave the store unless i paid extra for geek squad to set up my laptop! and i paid extra for the most "up to datE" laptop apple had, and they gave me a bad macbook that was sitting on the shelf in the back! i had to pay an extra $30 in the apple store to update my laptop! such a waste of money! i practically paid twice! definitely not happy with best buy and their attitudes towards customers........

I purchased a 13" Mac Book Pro 320GB at Best Buy in Cleveland, OH on 10/8 with my student for discount for $1,099. It did not come pre-installed with iWeb and iDVD (a product being discontinued by Apple and NOT included with the 13" MacBook Pro on Apple's website). However, on Best Buy's website they are still advertising iWeb as included software but it was not pre-installed on my Mac. Went to the store, explained the situation and they gave me the iLife software CD (including iWeb and iDVD) for free! There happened to be an Apple representative in the store that day and he said they would remove it for the website, but as of today it's still there! Great customer service by Best Buy, this time. If you purchased this product prior to today go back and DEMAND this software! (take a print out with you)

I'm a little bias here as I am one of those Mac/Apple fanatics. I wasn't sure which MacBook I was interested in, with the MacBook being cheaper but my 13" MacBook Pro has a more twice the RAM and a larger hard-drive. I have had it for a month now and it's great. No problems. Fast and really light. Not as light as the MacBook Air but I wanted more features than the Air. If you are in the market for a great laptop and your budget is within the price, get the 13" MacBook Pro. I thought I wanted the larger 15" model since my older PowerBook was that size but for me the 13" screen is large enough. Plus in the few weeks/days (hopefully) Apple with update the operating system to 10.7 (Lion) and all their products will surpass any other computer for simplicity of use and function. Oh and get the InCase cover or snap-on cover for it. It will protect your MacBook Pro and keep it like the day you bought it.

This thing is amazing! Switch from pc a breeze. If your thinking of buying one, do it now!!!

This is my first Mac computer, so I was a bit skeptical going in to this purchase. After owning this for 2 weeks, I can say that I love it. There was a 3-5 day learning curve coming from a Windows 7 machine. Pros: - Build Quality - Intuitive operating system - Fantastic Multi Touch Track Pad - Edge to Edge Glass Display, even though lower res than most, looks great! - Fast to boot and continue working, remembers where I was. Cons: - As everyone says, it's expensive for the hardware that you get. The software and the ease of use takes care of this factor easily. The time I save with the touch pad alone is worth the extra price. - Resolution, I would have really like to see a higher resolution screen, it's definitely not asking too much in this price range. - Heat, it runs HOT, you would be well suited getting a hard case on the unit. I picked up an InCase Perforated Hard Shell in White, which is excellent. All in all, if you need something for work or school, that you will be using everyday, you can't go wrong here. The performance is there, the build quality is great and the included software makes your life easier. I have no regrets on this purchase, which is a rarity for me these days!

I've been a PC user for 16yrs, but I love my new Apple MacBook Pro. I can't imagine ever going back to a PC. I'm still learning all of the nuances of working on a Mac, but the computer is awesome! Anyone want to buy a used PC - I'll sell it to you cheap!!!

My new MacBook Pro is by far the most remarkable, efficient, productive, and versatile computer I've ever had or used. I had envisioned the learning curve coming from the windows platform as being much more complex and time consuming, and I couldn't have been more wrong. The Mac's OS, features, and functionality are highly intuitive and user friendly, and I was a pro by the day following my purchase. The display is truly stunning, there are tons of free apps and games to take advantage of, the new Lion OS is awesome. The build quality on this laptop is very impressive, and I can tell it will definitely outlive the cheap plastic build of most windows laptops. I felt like you get a lot more bang for you buck with the MacBook Pro vs the Macbook Air, and I have zero regrets. It is more expensive than I normally would have considered going with, but Best Buy's no interest financing took care of that hurdle. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my MacBook Pro and will never go back to a windows computer again.

During my purchase of a computer, I was thinking about getting an Alienware laptop for gaming but I started looking into Mac's and it seemed great that I could get the quickness of a mac and the power of a pc all in one! I game a little bit on the Mac and it's great, not excellent though due to the integrated graphics card. Other than that, I love my mac and I'll always be a mac person now!

Bought two toshibas and one asus laptop before this one. One toshiba went out in a year, one was bad straight out of the box and the asus had issues right out of the box as well. Bought this Mac Book Pro and have not an issue with it. Great display and the back lit keyboard were bonuses to this unit. The processing speeds are spectacular and it runs rock solid. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Had a mac a long time ago and loved it. Went back to a pc. I just bought this mac book pro and i love it wondering why i ever bought a pc i guess it was the price, I would recommend a mac to anyone they are very user friendly. A lot of people don't get one because of the price but it is worth it. HOOK EM HORNS!!!!

I finally made the switch from HP to Mac. I was hesitant at first because of compatibility, price, and learning a new system, but I'm totally glad that I did. I love the ease of Mac, and all of the features it has right out of the box! I also love how you don't have to worry about getting a virus. That was one of the main reason's that I switched from my HP. I had to restore it twice because of a virus. I would totally recommend this to anyone!

I LOVE IT! It's taken some getting use to after having a PC but it's very easy to use. Quick startup which is great! Syncing the iPhone is so much faster now! The backlit keyboard is pretty sweet. I also like how you can use FaceTime w/an iPhone! Overall, it's a great buy and investment!

After using PCs exclusively for the last 20 years I was reluctant to purchase a Mac. I've always felt it was a case of twice-the-price-for-the-same-product. I was wrong. The price and specs do not tell the whole tale. This Mac, to borrow someone else's words, is elegant. The preloaded software is top notch. There is none of the "glut ware" I'm use to seeing installed on PCs. It is clean, efficient, fast, and intuitive. I love the mouse "gestures" and the program...er, excuse me..., the "App" performance. The screen is vivid, the mouse responsive, and the overall "feel" is quality. I'm very impressed and my mission is to become more and more familiar with it so that I can make a 100% switch from my PCs to the Mac. I would and WILL buy another one. My only regret is that I bought the 13" screen rather than the 17", but I still love it!

Bought our 1st Mac last year and a MacBook Pro this year. Great for traveling and it so easy to share info with the Mac. Set up was a breeze. Used our Apple Airport wifi to transfer all documents and pictures to the MacBook. Backing up our iPhones is a snap. Apple Support is the best.
