Great light laptop!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Tried the Mac Book Air 2.3 4 GB 256 SSD and sent it back, this is a much better option and does not weigh that much more. Upgraded HD to a Momentus® XT Solid State Hybrid Drive which is cheap and fast.

Great Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my new macbook pro. It's everything i wanted it to be. The only thing I don't like about it is the fact I can't run all the programs I work on at work from my mac and home. There all internet based they just require windows and partitioning is a expensive. Considering I barely had the money to but the computer, I don't really have enough to make it capable of running what I need right now. Other than that, I love it.

110% Apple Convert
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll start with the bottom line first: After having less than positive experiences with PC's most of my life, I finally came around to Macs, and I will not be going back. Apple works for me. I began with an iPod about 5 years ago. Upgraded to the newest touch and iPhone earlier in the year. And those have been great, love them. My HP laptop had been failing me from about 3 months out of purchase. I had a few parts replaced (by HP) over the first year I had it, but more kept going wrong in the 2 years I relied on it. Being a perpetual student, I am writing near constantly and am online a lot--I needed a machine that could perform well and reliably. I did my research, asked around, shopped around, made my decision and went with this model-- bottom of the MBP line, though upgradable. I would rank myself "intermediate" as far as computer proficiency is concerned, and it took me about a month to become comfortable with the UI/control difference between PC & Mac. But now, I couldn't be happier. The glitch-factor with MBP is thus far minimal, much less than it was with every PC I've encountered. I do not run any Windows products yet, and hopefully won't have to. There are too many simple, intuitive, and convenient little things that come with making the switch. I'm still learning and still finding more reasons why I made the right choice. It is also a gorgeous piece of machinery. Lightweight, portable, and super functional! FYI: If you do run Windows products, you should also get an anti-virus. Windows programs are still most susceptible to bugs.

GREAT COMPUTER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for an upgrade from a $400 HP and have always wanted a mac. I was on the fence about waiting for the newest models with not knowing exactly when the release day was. I purchased the MBP the first day they were released and I couldnt be happier with my purchase. The computer does everything you want plus more. The screen looks amazing and with 7 hours of battery life you cant complain. If your on the fence about buying a mac definitely pull the trigger, they are great!!

Great Product, minor issues!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first MacBook Pro purchase. I really like how easy to use the laptop is and all the available applications within easy reach. Did however have two minor issues that caused some concern. The first laptop I received from my Best Buy store had a dented lid. The second laptop I got to replaced the damaged on had a "U" button that broke loose from its clip. Now the third laptop I have has been working without issue for a few months. If those issues would have not shown up on the first unit, I know I would have given it five stars!!!!!!

Too advanced for its own good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have always been curious about mac and I love the company, so although I was aprehensive about converting from my pc ways I decided I would get this as my first laptop ever, as my college laptop. I was sold with the amazing photo quality and highly advanced technology that mac offers and couldn't resist the anti-virus worries. I had the laptop for a day and quickly found that my Sprint aircard wasn't compatable for the internet connection, which I figured wasn't a big issue. Then I found that my camera wouldn't connect and the computer failed to recognize it was even plugged into the usb drive. Now I was told that it would take some getting used to it and I would adapt so I kept playing with it and finding cool features, which its loaded with-not to mention the app store. Then I decided that since my camera nor my internet would work while I was at home that I would go out and buy a game, and I was fully aware that mac isnt known for gaming, but the game was specifically a mac game. So the game installed and ran, but froze and I force closed it at least 5 times before re-installing it and it still froze. After the complications I decided that getting used to the differences of mac vs pc are not worth buying a new camera, using an alternative internet source than the one I already pay for, and buying, and wasting, games that say the requirements match. Mac may be the future of computers, but for now they are too advanced for the average computer user and I will not upgrade everything I have until its my only option.

Great Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Computer, my only gripe is that the wifi built in likes to disconnect often enough that I have turned it off and have hard wired the laptop. With all the apple updates the ical has been a pain in the a** . I had to cal tech support to get it to sync with mobile me. Other than that love it. You turn it on and it works. No windows security bs no windows problems etc. BUY A MAC.

Great Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first MAC and I can definitley say that I am sold. After using PC for so long it takes a bit of getting used to, but within two weeks of purchasing my Macbook I had it down. After purchasing the 13" macbook pro I did regret not getting the 15" the 13" is just too small in my opinion. I upgraded my ram from 4GB to 8GB immediately after I got it. Upgrading the RAM is very simple and took me maybe 5 minutes. I also wish that Apple would give you the option of a higher resolution screen for the 13" as they do with the Macbook air. Overall I would definitely recommend this laptop to anyone looking to with to MAC.

Windows 7 runs fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the laptop my wife chose to buy as her personal computer after leaving her 14 year job at a large software company in Redmond, Washington. For 14 years, she had always used a company issued computer. She chose the MacBook Pro specifically for the hardware. She spent a month looking for a PC and couldn't find one that wasn't masculine looking, or a cheap build quality. She has chosen to run Parallels with Windows 7 and MSFT Office 2010 on the MBP. She considered switching to an entire MAC experience with MSFT Office 2011 for MAC, but just didn't like the more "primitive" looking user interface of that software. She feels the same about the UI of the Apple iWork apps also. She is very happy with her Apple hardware running Microsoft software.
