I've used MacBooks for quite some time; a few MacBooks, an Air, and most recently a MacBook Pro, which I replaced with this newer model. I was pleasantly surprised at how much snappier the new MB Pro feels versus the prior model. While I was skeptical of the new touchbar, after using the machine for a month I've found that I do in fact reach for it more often than I thought I would, especially when writing documents. Regarding the touchbar, the big win for me is the inclusion of TouchID. I really like being able to log on to the machine with just a touch, and my password manager, 1Password, also uses it for authentication. I've built several Hackintoshes (one just a few months ago) and am a professor of computer science at a large university, so I completely understand the "Apple Tax", which is the premium that we pay for an Apple computer versus the equivalent (or better in some cases) hardware from another vendor. Apple in my mind is a premium brand, and for the extra money I expect best-in-class fit and finish, design, and functionality, and I feel that I get it with Apple products. My biggest concern with this new design was the oversized trackpad...I was worried that typing would be an issue with the cursor jumping around due to contact with the heel of my hand. This hasn't been the case, and I am able to type at full speed with no erratic behavior from the trackpad. Overall I feel that this is a solid machine and good value for the money. You'll need a few extra dollars in the budget for a few USB-C adapters, but I needed a handful with the old machine, too, since I regularly connect to HDMI or VGA projectors during lectures. My only real annoyance is that the power adapter no longer uses Apple's MagSafe technology.

I got this in one of the back to school deals for students. Initially was looking for the non-touch model but instead went for this as I was getting it for just $100 more. It's pretty snappy and the battery life is more or less as advertised. The touch bar is a great tool if used to its potential, although I don't find much use in day to day tasks. Overall a great buy for students who are looking for a light and fast machine for the next 3 to 4 years.

I've always been a Window user and only looked at Mac OS a decade ago and didn't like it. Well this new slick look, the hardware specs, the newer OS, and oh yes! This amazing little touch bar made me take a leap of faith and I'm glad I have. The look, feel, sounds, and display are perfection. The OS has a few clunky things like the file explorer, I needed to format my portable drives to work on Mac, and the somewhat closed and propierty software stores, but I have no complaints and miss the windows platform little. There are may ways to adapt and overcome the change with parallels, MS office for mac, and others. Get this great laptop! You won't regret it!

Probably the best MacBook Pro ever made.I had a 17 MacBook pro from 2007 and a 13 from 2011.Both just became obsolete because of operating updates,my new one is great.Love the touch bar.

First time Mac user and I am very pleased with the quality of this laptop. It is light which is awesome for portability but it is not fragile at all. It is very fast connecting to everything ( internet, bluetooth, etc.).The touch bar is very convenient and the touchpad sensitivity is ok but I prefer using a mouse.With 4 thunderbolt ports you have super fast connectivity. I would recommend getting the USB/HDMI/Card reader adapter and you are set.

Absolutely love this computer. The design is so sleek, the touch bar is handy. Very easy to maneuver.

This computer has been the most convenient investment I have purchased this year. As a college student this computer has everything I need and is very light! Easy to carry around campus!

Not sure it’s a grt upgrade if you have a 2016 model but a very good Model if you have 2014 or earlier versions. Battery is OK bout any be a problem if you expect it to match 2015 model

I upgraded from a 2013 and I love the new MacBook Pro. The resolution is awesome and I like the new toucher very much. Fired up no problem and all is great. Battery life much better too

This new MacBook Pro with touch bar is the best upgrade ever. Is so simple secure and easy to use. My thirteen year old uses it every day to accomplish her homework and everyday tasks

I bought this for my son and powering on his new MacBook Pro is the highlight of each day. He uses it mostly for research and editing and he couldn’t be happier with any other brand.

13" MacBook pro is good enough for me to carry it around when in town or out. Lightweight and nice grey color. Everyone loves it. But it has no slot for me to charge my iphone.

I love my MacBook Pro! The touch bar is really cool and the graphics is noticeably better than my MacBook Air but I still wish it was a lot cheaper and that they kept the MagSafe and more ports besides USB-C. All in all it’s a great MacBook.

This computer works well for all my needs as a student. Also works good for my media and entertainment needs. Runs fast, smooth, and has a very nice interface. Well done Apple.

Love the 65" screen. The picture is so clear and the color are vibrant. Pair this with the Sony sound bar for great sound. Our family room sounds as good as a home theater

The only reason I purchased the MacBook with the touch bar was because of the better processor. But I was quite impressed with the touch bar. I find myself using it much more than I thought I would, and the simplicity of it is great. Anyone looking for a powerful and functional laptop should definitely consider this computer.
