I bought this product as an upgrade from my older Macbook Pro. It's such a drastic upgrade. Everything is changed, quicker software, better images and a nicer keyboard, which I had to adjusted to. My older Macbook worked perfectly fine for 4 years and I'm hoping this new Macbook will last the same or even more until a better one comes out. TOTALLY love Apple products! Battery life is 10x better and it doesn't over heat! The battery charger is different too, the bulky part doesn't have hooks to wrap my cable around and the charging port isn't magnetic but it's still a nice laptop. VERY light weight & the space grey is BEAUTIFUL.

    Solid Laptop

Build quality is amazing, display/resolution is crisp, operation is fast. I am a elite member so I had 30 days to try out Lenovo's Yoga 910. I was skeptical between the 910 and the Macbook Pro. But the Macbook Pro took the win despite having an i5 over an i7 processor. The laptop is mainly used for graduate school. It runs cool and quite and gives me over 10 hrs of battery life. Love using it. I chose this over the touch bar because the battery life is a bit longer and I like the physical buttons over the Touch Bar ones.

This is a great Laptop, I didn't exactly get the one showed in the pictures because I couldn't find the model of the laptop I bought. Gaming: 3/10 It was a mistake buying this laptop for gaming though, this was suggested by my Dad, back then I had no clue about computers and bought this thinking that I had bought a gaming beast, I was wrong. Productivity: 8/10 If you are not looking to game and just need to get work done, there is no need to look anymore as the MacBook is the best for productivity. Screen: 6/10 Unlike most Window Laptops, the screen is pretty small, and it reflects a little bit, I would suggest you to buy a bigger screen if you buy a MacBook. Keyboard: 7/10 Although it isn't mechanical or anything special, this laptop has the best keyboard out of all the other laptops I tried to type on. Trackpad: 9/10 You can do a lot with this trackpad, there is a lot of things you can do with it. Although I do see it hard to game because I am not used to clicking with two fingers Ease Of Use: 10/10 If you are just getting into computers and laptops, the MacBook is a great start, it is simple and easy to use. So is paying over 1000$ for this computer worth it? Yes and no, it depends what you want to do with it. If you are looking to game than you better go find a Windows Computer. Looking to work and do simple things? You find your laptop! On a scale of 1 to a 100, I give it a 76/100.

I was looking for a new laptop since the one I had previously it became obsolete, so I decide to go for a surface pro4 since I always used a windows platform and I heard switching to apple it was a pain in the b**. So the surface was nothing more than waste of money, over a thousand bucks 1290 plus for an i5 4g 128gb, I realized besides the cool design the touch wasn't that great and the pencil though was cool but quite inaccurate some times, second the antenna was so poor to receive signal from a distant wi fi at home that barely could do anything on it, and if you decided to work with the surface putting the tablet on your lap it was also uncomfortable. so I returned the next day disappointed and then, I decided to give a shot to the apple and despite the fear of a new platform for someone who never used an apple product before such as a laptop. So bought the MacBook Pro i5 8g and 256gb for 300 bucks more seemed not too bad after all. The first impression was the design and despite not having office the numbers and pages were great, and it took me a day to learn how the heck this works and also the new usb c type. but after using it didn't mind that was not a touch screen because the new extended mouse pad works as if you were actually navigating in a touch screen, you can zoom out,in etc , the antenna has a brilliant signal reception, so in overall I will keep this one for sure. and remember I'm a person who never uses an apple platform before. and for the price 1530 w taxes the quality is way better than the surface pro4.and you don't have to pay for office, since the apple programs can read all my material as word excel power point etc. so if you decided to get a laptop get this one you won't regret it. And also the team members at Everett and lynnwood were really cool to work with when I asked all the silly questions.

I have always used windows based PC's and really wanted to try something new. Thought I may have some problems getting used to the differences but by the end of the first day I had it down pat. Keyboard is small but you get used to it and it is perfect for a student or someone who carries it for work, whatever...so lightweight! I absolutely love it! Visuals are awesome, super fast and I really have not found anything I don't like about it yet.

    Better than I expected

I replaced my old MacBook Air with the new Pro today. I have just started using it but am familiar with what to expect. IT's very fast. I love the Retina display. The non-retina display was my main complaint about the Air. Colors just pop and text is much clearer. I was expecting some difficulty getting used to the new keyboard because of the shorter travel. No such problems. Yes, the travel is less but I have not noticed any more mistyped words than usual. I'm sure that after some use I will not even notice the shorter press - probably get to like it. My first impression was that I had lost the treasured backlit keyboard. I loved that on the Air and the Pro keys looked dark. Later I picked it up in a dark room and, to my surprise, saw that the dark keys were white. The keyboard is backlit, the default lighting was low. After raising the light level I am very happy. That feature is NOT listed in the BB features. I sure hope they include it as I am probably not the only person that needs the backlight lots of the time. Can't speak to the processor speed yet. That's just going to take some computing time. But, initially I am very happy. The Retina display is a real upgrade from my Air and I have not given up my treasured backlit keyboard. I'm very happy.

    An Upgrade

I have owned every Macbook computer in the Apple line up. What I enjoyed about the Air was its portability and power. What I loved about the Macbook was the Keyboard, lightness but it just lacked the umph to truly make it an everything type of machine. After owning the Macbook I ended up selling it and going back to the 2015 Macbook Pro. After going back to the Machine I immediately noticed was that I missed the Keyboard from the Macbook and I also missed the design and color of the Macbook. So now I own the Macbook Pro non touchbar. This device to me has the culmination of all three devices that have been part of the Apple laptop computer lineup. The 2016 Macbook Pro has the power, the portability, the keyboard, the Space Grey and its just been a delight and pleasure to use. I have already gotten use to the keyboard that I have missed and believe that this device will be my last device for a while. A definite win for Apple in my book lol

I got this macbbok on blackfriday and I must say it is an awesome machine. Its built very well and feels premium. Charge is amazing. On a normal day, I easily get 9 hours of battery and upward to 10-11 when working more on Microsoft word. I Initially was going to purchase last years pro 13 in but I decided I wouldn't get a new laptop for at least 4/5 years so just went with the new one. The only thing I wish this years MacBook had was the glowing logo. I LOVED THAT LOGO . Lol but seriously, really good machine, a. lil pricey but very smooth

Excellent buy for Presidents' Day price

Bought this on sale (brand new) for President's Day weekend. But on a side note, I bought this MacBook Pro (13 inch w/o touchbar) a week earlier (open-box certified) so that I can test it out first. I love the build quality of this new MacBook Pro, and most of Apple's products in general. All aluminum chassis, thin, and lightweight. I can understand why there are people that have MacBook Pros and Airs that are 4-5 years old. The screen quality is fantastic, especially if you're coming from laptop screens with lower resolution. I'm a student in the health care field, so I can't speak about its processing power since I don't use any professional software. But it is very fast in terms of loading pages on Safari and when opening other applications like mail, iTunes, etc.. Battery life was exactly what Apple promised, around 9-10 hours is what I got while using it. Standby is great as well, about 1-2% lost if left on standby overnight. Glad I got a chance to test it out first before committing to the Apple ecosystem long term. This is my first Apple computer, and it is absolutely worth it for $250 off the original price.

    Absolutely Awesome

I bought my first Mac computer in 2013, it was Macbook Pro 13 inch retina. Before then I only ever owned Pc's, primarily because it was all I could ever afford. Since 2013 I have not gone back to Pc since. So when the new Macbook Pro 13 inch came out I had to have it. So when I got my tax return I went out and bought one. I decided to go with the Macbook Pro 13 inch non touch bar because I could not justify spending the extra 300 just to have two extra ports and a touch bar that I could not see myself using on a regular basis. I absolutely love this device. Everything is quicker than what My 2013 Macbook Pro could muater, the new Butterfly keyboard is a dream to type on, and finally I have a Macbook in color than the worn out Silver. If your a student, looking for something that is light in the bag, powerful enough to play your games in between classes, definitely get this device. Also, if you have money left over slap a Dbrand Skin on it to so you can protect your investment. Thank you Apple

I am loving my new MacBook Pro. I have an Apple Watch, and an iPhone, so it is very nice how tied in these devices are. This is my first Mac, and I am coming from a windows laptop. The adjustment has been very easy for me. I did put office on my MacBook. I am in school, so I wanted something light and easy to carry. This fits the bill. They keyboard is so amazing, it is the best typing experience I have ever had. I am still learning everything I can do with this, and I will probably never really use it to it's full potential. But, I am very happy with my purchase. I did buy this from the Apple Store, as I have their credit card, and I have 18 months to pay with no interest. If you are in the apple system, with an iPhone, or Apple Watch, or an iPad, this MacBook makes perfect sense. It is light, easy to type on, and just plain Beautiful!!! I highly recommend this MacBook Pro!!

I bought this laptop since I'm going to start college in June and as a replacement for a very old Toshiba laptop that doesn't work unless it's plugged in and charging. I was surprised how fast and responsive this MacBook is even though it's only clocked in at 2.0 GHZ, I guess the 256GB SSD really does the trick. The only downside I had with this laptop is that it doesn't have USB 3.0 to connect my iPhone to, but buying the dongle made exclusively for the 2016 models seemed to do the job.

I didn't think I'd miss the ports much but I ended up needing an HDMI or usb port pretty often. Remembering all of your adapters is just another hassle. I understand Apple wants to thrust us into the future but I can't imagine the near future will be without HDMI. I also can't find any thunderbolt 3 adapters that can guarantee 1440p at 144hz over displayport 1.2.

Looks nice, but let down by Apple's poor choices

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is a nice looking laptop, which is typical of Apple. It's reasonably quick, light, etc. However, after buying one and living with it, I had to return it. Why? The keyboard is awful - it provides no travel and thus no feedback, and is like typing on glass, a la an iPad. And the keys themselves feel flimsy - like they could break if you type too firmly. The trackpad, too, is a problem - it's too big, and could not reliably reject extraneous input, making the cursor jump around randomly. Second, the ports are a travesty. Only offering two USB-C ports is crippling for my uses, especially when one of them has to be used for power. I don't want to have to carry adapters/dongles with me; nor can I simply buy new cables to connect everything I either own or use. Not including Magsafe was a huge mistake, as was not including an SD slot to allow for expanded storage. I also think it is absurdly priced - $1499 for a 13" 2.0 dual core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB of flash storage (and almost no one will see any benefit from how fast the SSD is) is ludicrous. Obviously I do not recommend it - Apple should go back to the prior design and update the internals.
