Can't beat a Macbook
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't had a MacBook for quite some time. I had been using Windows based laptops for the past few years and found myself replacing them frequently because of durability and slowdown issues. This time I decided to spend a few bucks extra and go with the Mac again. So far it's been fantastic. It's fast, intuitive, and the battery life is great. You can see a drastic difference in build quality compared to cheaper laptops. This one should hopefully last years. No regrets with this purchase at all.

Lightweight and fast charging but not work grade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the MacBook Pro primarily for work but I am disappointed with the overall performance of the laptop. The touchpad is a bit quirky and some applications hang or do not respond when I click on the dock/taskbar when multiple apps are open. I sometimes have to close out or restart. Not sure if the larger version of the MacBook Pro is any better. If you are intending to do light browsing or e-mail, perhaps this laptop would work, but I would not recommend this as a work laptop for a user that may have multiple applications running. On the positive side, it charges quickly, has good battery life, is lightweight but does not feel flimsy.

A must for students, educators, retirees!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have more than several Apple products. A few were purchased at Best Buy. Apple products are excellent, educational and just fun to have. Fear not if you aren't tech savvy, there are plenty Geek representatives to guide u through the initial steps of learning the preliminary functions of an Apple. Give an iPad, Mac, or MacBook Pro a try. As a matter of fact, I ranted and raved about my MacBook Pro, I convinced my friend into buying one. And that she did! You will not be disappointed!

Great replacement for MacBook Pro 2009
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great computer. Super thin and sleek. Runs multiple applications flawlessly. Not a huge deal on ports, just get an adapter.

Nice new MacBook Pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to buy the latest model of the MacBook Pro, instead of the older version. The new model looks much sleeker and more modern than the older version. It has a newer generation of processor, which is faster. I like the space gray color. Battery performance was a concern before I bought the latest model but it looks like Apple fixed the safari bug which caused the battery issue. I'm very happy with the BestBuy sales person who explained the pros and cons and matched the best price for me.

Good computer so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my wife who needed a new laptop. Works well and like some of the upgrades from her old Mac. Don't like that it doesn't have a USB port and have to buy a connector. It's worth a look, small and does what she needs

Worthy upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to buy this newest generation MacBook Pro since the previous gen had been so reliable. No regrets after making the purchase, and Best Buy had a great sale going to boot. Overall this is a great Mac, fast and much lighter than the one it replaces. The new keyboard took a day to get used to, but now I prefer it over the previous mechanism. Typical amazing apple quality product.

still a decent laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery life is good, retina display is good, however I absolutely see no reason to get the touchbar version over this one.

It's a MacBook Pro
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great MacBook Pro, which I use every day faithfully. I'm typing this review on it, and it 'just works.' The new keyboard takes a couple of days to get used to, and the trackpad is simply amazing.

It's a brave new world.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let's get something out of the way real quick. I have probably owned somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 Macs since 1984. From an original Mac, to an LC, to just about every Mac in between. Now, there have been times when I have wanted to strangle Apple for some of the decisions they made. See removing the floppy disk, CD Drive, etc for reference. They have done it again. I bought a 2015 MacBook last year and had it exactly two days before I wanted to throw it out a window. One port. Just one, and USB-C at that. This has four Thunderbolt 3 ports, but the frustration is still there. If you buy this know upfront it will be adapters on top of adapters. Also know they aren't cheap. At the time of writing this, Apple has slashed the prices on some of them nearly 50%, but they will go back up after the backlash quiets down. Pros The keyboard is MUCH better on this model than the original 2015 MacBook. I actually type faster on it than on the Mid 2015 15" MacBook that I returned so that I could get this one. The TouchBar. I thought that it would be a gimmick, but it is actually useful. It takes a bit of getting used to as when you use it it makes your mind think that touch is suddenly available on the entire MacBook. It isn't. I keep reaching for the screen after touching the TouchBar. The TrackPad. Here they have nailed it. The palm rejection is flawless and it is nice to have a larger trackpad when executing gestures. 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports. 40GBs per second. Come on that is just sick. The screen is so much brighter and has so much better color depth and contrast than the 2015 model. Brighter as in over 500 nits of brightness. Like it will blind you at night in a dark room. The speakers are the best I have ever hear on a laptop other than the Alienware 18. There is no distortion and they really will fill a room. The size is SUPER small. It doesn't feel much bigger than the 12" and weights what a 13" MacBook Air did, but yet it is smaller. Hard drive speed is amazing. 1700MBS write and over 2000 reads. That is just sick. SICK! Cons Processor is only dual core. Ram is only 8GB. Only has 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports (No SD card slot WTH!). The TouchBar won't be mind blowing until 3rd party developers get to it and until there is a best practices that works well. No dedicated graphics. I mean this is supposed to be a pro machine. The price. It is hard to pay $1799 for a computer that has a Core i5, 8GB of Ram and a 256GB Hard drive. That is just tough. A PC will give you much more bang for the buck, but you will be using a PC. The death of MagSafe. That was one of the best inventions that Apple ever put on a laptop. It is sad to see it go. Last con is the battery life. Apple made the battery smaller and thus the battery life is a bit shy of last years. It sounds like I don't like it, but that isn't the case. This is a great little laptop with the best build quality of any laptop on the market. The only PC that can come close is the Razer Blade and Blade Stealth. Those have amazing build quality. Now this is a great buy, it is going to last you many years, and has plenty of power even if the specs seem lacking. Apple controls the OS and the hardware and streamlines it so well that it will actually out perform other systems, albeit if you use Apple software like Final Cut Pro instead of Premier. It is super portable, and is a joy to use. Just know that you are going to have to have adapters to get work done. I would give it a 4.5 if I could but that isn't an option.

Great Computer - Better than I expected!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always had MacBook Pros with a standard hard drive and all the ports, Super Drive, etc. But this is faster, more responsive, and just better than the MacBooks I've owned before! Despite "expert" reviews, it is more than enough for what I do. I am not editing feature films here (who does, and if you do you obviously need something more powerful) and it does everything I need and more. All you really need is the multi-adapter if you have updated perhipherals. Great computer.

If on sale a great laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought it to replace my 2014 model and cant call it much of an upgrade performance wise..also battery life is not nay better...only real difference is the form factor...these days the build is second to none but definitely we have more choices so if OS preference is not a factor look at the HP and dell laptops before making a choice
