    Perfect laptop for work

I could have purchased this at an Apple store, but I didn't because I feel like I want to support Best Buy's experience for us chumps out here. I like doing my homework online before I buy something, but going into Best Buy does two things: I'll see other options ( even other laptops in this case) in a physical store I probably didn't think about online and I know I'll get the best price. I don't know how you can offer Apple cheaper than Apple but you do and I appreciate it. Also, coolest thing - there was an Apple tech in the store that day and he - and Herman Monico who works for you in the honolulu store - really made complicated stuff easy. Also, it made me trust that the thing I was buying was the best thing for me. Appreciate you guys at Best Buy.

1 year later, and it works just as it did when it was new. There's not much I can add to the fact that it is an MacBook Pro, and it is what it is - an excellent working machine, with a beautiful screen, a dependable OS, and let's be honest, Apple is what the cool kids use. Within my home I have a 2020 Chromebook with 8th Gen i5 and 8gb or RAM, a 2020 Microsoft Surface Laptop with a 10 Gen i5 and 8GB RAM, a 2020 Dell Latitude 5300 with 8th Gen VPro i7 with 16gb RAM, and a 2020 ASUS ROG M15 with 10th Gen i7 with 16gb RAM, and the MacBook Pro remains the least maintenance machine. No needed driver adjustments, no needed setting changes, no needed adjustments to improve audio and video recording or production. Granted, the other machines (especially the ROG) have some speed advantages, but the MacBook Pro is as you would expect, no hassles, no issues, just top quality productivity. I also have NO regret that I bought just before the touchbar came out. I've tried it. I have nothing against it, but I don't miss it, nor feel like I missed anything. Now, for the dislikes... I do NOT like the keyboard. It just is unpleasant to type on. I want actual key travel. But it's certainly usable. I simply prefer every single other laptop keyboard over this one. I wish there were more ports, but alas, it's the world we live in. I just do NOT like having to buy a dongle as soon as I get it, unlike my ASUS and DELL that have multiple USBs, HDMI, and even a SD card reader, thus eliminating needing to carry extra devices that continuously hang off the side of my laptop. Even the MUCH cheaper Chromebook has all the ports I need, runs smooth, and has a better keyboard. Go figure. The battery life is good, and like every other laptop, it depends on what you are doing as to the exact life, but it is normal to get a full long day of use, if not a couple days before needing to recharge it. I'm still using all Android phones in my house, and haven't felt the need to embrace the whole Apple ecosystem... yet while the MacBook Pro - draws the user toward going all Apple - it still works well within the mix of Microsoft Office / Google Docs / Adobe product line kind of work and education life I live within. I'll also add that during this COVID world, the built in camera and mic have been excellent for quality web conferencing. I think my other laptops may each boast a good mic or camera, but the MacBook Pro has the best overall experience between both. In my house, we buy based on use. My wife needs a lot of MS Office products, so she got the Surface, I need enterprise productivity, so I got the Dell with VPro, My son is the gamer and music producer, so he got the ASUS ROG, and my daughter is the collegiate student in music performance and production, and she uses the MacBook... and it fits perfectly! No issues, no complaints (other than that terrible keyboard).

I had a 8 year old MacBook Pro that I traded in for this one. It’s light weight and the perfect size. It’s lightening fast and easy to use. The trackpad works a lot better than my old one too.

I just bought this MacBook Pro last week, and I LOVE it! It is compact and light to carry around, yet the screen is a nice size for old people like me. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the keyboard as the keys sit a little lower and aren't raised as much as they are on my old MacBook Pro. However, I have found that that is absolutely not an issue at all, and in fact, I LOVE the way they work and feel. I am thrilled with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone considering buying it.

I originally had a Microsoft book laptop and that worked great for what I needed, but I've always had a iPhone and getting a MacBook Pro was something I was really interested in. So when my Microsoft book laptop got stolen I knew that I wanted to get a MacBook Pro to replace it and I haven't been disappointed!

The new MacBook Pro is razor-thin, featherlight, and now even faster and more powerful than before. It has the brightest, most colorful Mac notebook display. And it features up to 10 hours of battery life.* It’s a notebook built for the work you do every day. Ready to go anywhere a great idea takes you

I have always used windows computers. However, my 6 year old Asus finally died and I decided I was going to make the switch to Apple. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! I will not switch back to windows after buying this computer. The OS is so smooth. There’s definitely a learning curve, but I’d say after a solid month of getting the hang of the OS, it’s easy to maneuver. The sounds on this laptop is clear and has great volume. The screen is beautiful. It’s super light and the battery life is lasting my an average of 10 hours per day which is helpful during my all day classes. It charges back to 100% very quickly as well. Best change I’ve ever made.

Upgraded from MacBook Pro Late 2012!

Didn't think of buying a new MacBook BUT it was worth the upgrade! I use my computers heavily for school and community work and the speed, screen clarity and size was a renwed experience from my Late 2012 MacBook Pro. I do however miss my old storage. My old MacBook had a 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM. Not that this MacBook is not faster, but the storage is not upgradable unless you buy a whole new computer. DO NOT GET 128GB MODEL!! 256GB is PLENTY of storage and you have the cloud (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc) to store your data or even an external hard drive. Just play around with it in the store and you'll grow to love it after your purchase.

I have worked only on Windows based products for over 30 years in my career. In setting up a new office, it was decided that with the kind of work we are doing, we should make the investment in MacBooks due to the the reliability in the hardware and the software. I am very pleased with how fast this machine is and how quickly I am able to type on it. I thought it would be difficult to learn and concerned it would feel counterintuitive, but that simply is not the case. The startup is almost instant, downloads do not take any time at all and when there is an update to the system, it does not take hours to incorporate as I have experienced with windows-based computers. I am very happy of the decision to go towards Apple products.

Like the keyboard very much. I had the MacBook Pro 2013, this one is lighter than my previous one. The type-c charging cable doesn't tell me when it is fully charged.

I recently made the switch from a windows laptop to the MacBook Pro. This is my first time ever touching a Mac computer and I was afraid the switch would be difficult with a learning curve. I cannot believe how easy the transition was to the Mac, I am absolutely in love with everything about it. It's lightweight, fast, easily portable. My favorite feature is that it syncs with my iPhone and iPad so I can answer my text messages from the laptop without hunting down my phone, or air drop links and documents from one device to the other. I am completely sold and will never go back to a windows PC.

I became a MacBook Pro fan in 2010 with my first laptop, a 15". Now in 2018 I felt my original pro was way too heavy and becoming slow/outdated. This led me to purchasing this computer and so far I love it. it is slim, light weight and lighting fast with all of the capabilities of my original laptop. My only complaint is the need to purchase adapters to connect a USB and/or SD card, however there are many great affordable products out there that have all of these connection options in one easy to connect port at a reasonable cost. Also, the keys take some getting used to! Very clicky

I purchased this computer as an upgrade to my old MacBook Pro 2011. It is slim and lightweight, perfect for taking it back and forth to work and travel. I highly recommend getting an external hard drive to help save space on your computer. The design is flawless, and I really enjoy the upgrade to the screen size. The two downsides are there are only 2 USB-C ports, so it can be cumbersome to charge the laptop, your phone and back up at the same time. You will need to purchase an adapter if you'd like to use a USB stick or other device.

I had been a PC user for years but was mandated a Mac at work. After three years of use, when it was time to replace my home computer I wanted a Mac - and this one is thinner, faster and has even more storage than my work computer. I'm loving it!
