The Touch Bar is also a frequently praised feature, while some users mention the heat generated by the device and limited USB-C ports as potential drawbacks. The MacBook Pro 13 is the perfect size and performs fabulously. I plan on using it for my music study as well as for architectural drawing projects and residential design.
I was using a windows based PC my entire career and just retired and bout the MacBook. I am very happy to make the change and adapting quickly to the user friendly operating system that Apple provides.
Love it!

New MacBook Pro Gives Me a Leap Forward

When my 2012 MacBook Pro died after 8 years of solid service, I knew I wanted another Mac. But I seriously considered going for a desktop as I've gotten into video creation and editing. No need - my new MacBook Pro has 1 TB of onboard storage, and 16 GB of RAM - plus plenty of processing power for churning out videos without a sweat. While I'm usually working at my desk, it's great to know that this workhorse can come along anywhere I need it!

I really love it! I’ve never owned a laptop so this is my first and it’s great, there’s so much I can do and I love the fact that I can have it connected to my phone and literally everything Apple I have.
It’s perfect size in my opinion. Very fast and perfect if you are a student. Was definitely worth it

I purchased this computer to replace the HP Spectre 13 inch windows machine. So far I am happy with the new machine. It is quite the switch to move from windows to Mac operating system though. I have it paired with the Apple keyboard and a Logitech mx master 3 mouse and connected a 23 inch monitor for desktop use.

Overall a very nice & reliable laptop. Only thing I don’t like is that you have to purchase an adaptor separately if you want to plug your phone or usb in. For the price that should have been included...

When I worked as a Certified Apple Technician I told myself I would never upgrade to one of these Touch Bar MacBook Pros but my 10 year old MacBook Pro started to slow down and I was tired of upgrading the internals of the machine and decided to just upgrade to a newer MacBook Pro, I got the one that had a bit more power and storage to match the specs of the one I was used to as I use my machine for a lot of multitasking; photo, video, music production, as well as using two operating systems at once almost all the time. So far I haven’t had any frustration with the machine not being capable of doing what I want it to do. Only complaint I have is the complaint I had years ago when they first released a glimpse of these new models and that is the continuous purchases of cable adapters (aka. dongles) so right off the bat I had to spend an extra $100 for an adapter.

The MacBookPro is a very nice laptop. Display is great, keyboard very responsive and battery life is awesome. Track Pad is nicely positioned and very responsive. It is speedy and memory is great. Working on multiple documents at the same time is a breeze. Do be aware that if you are purchasing this most recent laptop, it comes with OS Catalina which may give you some initial fits as some external applications are not compatible with OS Catalina. It's a 64 bit vs 32 bit issue. The apps will eventually catch up over time. It's a tad pricy but well worth the money.

As part of my retirement celebration I bought myself a new MacBook, and it has ben very satisfying to turn in my Windows laptop and get back to a Mac. The latest generation of Intel Core I5 chips has plenty of power, and the unit is well spec'd for memory and SSD space. I'm enjoying the Touch Bar, which provides useful short cuts in many applications. The compact size is great. The MacBook has been completely reliable, and it's a perfect central hub in my Apple ecosphere as it works seamlessly with my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Adding a nice wide format monitor and an apple keyboard and mouse makes it a good desktop system, with the ability to grab it and go when needed.

I've been a Mac user since 1984, it has been a wonderful computing experience. For me, Mac hardware and operating system performance and durability is legendary. Since 1984 I've owned nine previous models (a total of 15 different macs). During those 36-years I've only had two hardware failures (one power supply and one optical super-drive).
None of those Macs has ever lost or crashed a file (can't say that about the operator though). And this includes some very hefty 2.5 hour long video editing. If you do a little research on the operating system architecture and how it handles files you will get an idea how efficient the system is in handling applications and data files which minimize storage space and reduce the possibility losing or damaging files.
I'm still using three older 2009 Macs (1- 24-inch iMac and 2-MacBook Pros), they will now move into the background for some specific jobs they do very well. They have been great and will be used for years to come.
However, I needed an upgrade to significantly speed up my workflow, especially online.
I specifically wanted to change over to using a 1-TB SSD "hard drive" for capacity and speed. This outstanding new machine is lightning fast, light weight and compact with a lot of new features that I'll need to explore more and learn to take advantage of.
For such a compact machine the sound quality of the built-in speakers is amazing. Launch and startup time compare to my older machines is a blink of the eye (I didn't use to think they were so bad, but now they crawl in comparison). Online connectivity is RIGHT NOW rather than "I'm getting there momentarily". Storing and retrieving files is very fast.
If you are a Mac user, you're already familiar with how intuitive the operating system is. Having been a long-term Mac user, and when on various jobs where I've been required to use a PC, it's quite challenging to adapting to the more complex and convoluted way of doing things on a PC—things that are so simple and straight forward on a Mac. Of course if you've always used a PC you're use to it and they work very well.
If you are a PC user and thinking about making the switch to a Mac, I'd encourage you to do it. Once you get acquainted with how simple things flow on a Mac and use it for just a little while, you will love it and never want to go back to the complexities of the PC operating system.
Have a great day with all those 101010101010101010101010101

The keyboard is excellent. The newer graphics on the $1800+ model are much better. The ram is more powerful. It has dual fans versus the $1300 model only having a single fan. There are lots of reasons to buy this over the $1300 model if you can afford - look up some YouTube reviews.
Fans will spin and it will get warm when doing heavy processing; however, in every day use it is silent and cool. So if you are editing, expect some noise and heat as you would with any other laptop. If you are browsing the web and doing normal work, you'll never hear the fan.
I'm very pleased and I'm happy that Apple raised the storage and ram on these models this year and added improved graphics. Very pleased.

Apple is really all I know, & after 6 whole years with my old MacBook Pro, it was time to move on. My previous one is still working well enough, but I LOVE THIS UPGRADE! It's light, more compact, fast, & easy to carry everywhere. I'm also loving the convenience of the Touch Bar. Highly recommend!

13" MBP i5 16GB/1TB - Perfect for me

The 13" MBP replaced an aging 15" Early 2011 MBP. I like the smaller footprint because I travel often and the 10th Gen i5 upgrade was worth it for me. Best Buy delayed the shipment by 1 week but I didn't mind. The unit can run warm but I downloaded a fan utility and it works well. I'm not a gamer or video editor so the graphics chip is fine for me as well. It does what I want it to and it does it well so overall I'm happy. Keep in mind that Catalina ONLY runs 64-bit software so your previous software will not run if it's 32-bit.

Fantastic Option for College and Remote Learning

I bought this for my daughter to use as she starts her first year of college. She had been using a new iPad and the specs on it weren't allowing her to access all of the sites she needed for class and tests -- lesson learned here to wait and see what remote learning will require during COVID. I was hoping to purchase this on sale, but she needed it too quickly so we took the plunge and are so glad we did. It is extremely fast, has a gorgeous display, and she absolutely loves it. I don't think she's stopped hugging me in appreciation since! Apple made it so easy for her to set up on her own as well, so she was up and running soon after she took it out of the box! With the 1TB storage, she'll be keeping it for the duration of her education, I'm sure, if not longer.

Great laptop. The M1 is pretty impressive right out of the box and as with most Apple computers, fit and finish is top of the line. With COVID, the first thing I noticed was how much better the front facing camera is for Zoom calls.
For me, still debating if I will use it full time over my i7 2.6GHz because that machine has 16 fb of ram. Overall, a good purchase if you want a smaller laptop for on the go that can pretty much handle everything you can throw at it.
