Customers are enthusiastic about the MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, and the innovative Touch Bar. Many appreciate its lightweight design and long battery life, finding it ideal for portability. While some users noted heat and fan noise in certain situations, and a limited number of USB ports, the overall feedback is overwhelmingly positive. The sleek design and fast RAM also received praise.

Im in IT. Very familiar with both Mac & Windows. I bought a MacBook Air 2015 as my first real new Mac purchase (I had own used ones). I sold my last gaming computer last year as I was trying to get away from gaming too much and recently found myself needing more power for video editing and everything else I do when I have power to push the limits.
Let me tell you, w/16GB of ram @ 3733 MHz and an SSD that can do 2GB+/s reading & writing, this thing will not slow down. And of course the 10th gen CPU probably helps a lot.
- The Keyboard = Best I've used
- Trackpad = Best in the world.
- Speakers = Sound great and have satisfying bass
- Touch Bar = thought I'd hate, though it might be dumb, its not. It's great.
- Screen = Incredible colors. Can push display to 2880x1800 with a 3rd party app (because it is supported)
- Performance:
I currently have 5 desktops going with a 4k monitor attached. 3 different web browsers open (Safari, Chrome, Firefox) for different purposes (personal, work, experimental) with many tabs in each. Running various apps while also running a Windows 10 VM and this thing handles it like a champ, even when on a vertical 4K display. I'm really very happy with the performance, of this guy along with everything else.
- Value: I've done my research. 1st of all, there is no laptop with these kind of specifications that beat the MacBook Pro in price. The Dell XPS 13 comes close as well as the Razer Blade 13" but they are all lacking something. You can't get those models any cheaper than this MacBook Pro if you consider the retina screen this comes with. If you try to get ANY laptop with the same resolution screen, 3733 MHz ram, an NVME SSD with 2GB/s read & write with an all aluminum chassis, its going to cost as about much if not more and you'll still be stuck with Windows. There are specs that the manufacturers simply do not give out on paper that the average consumer doesn't think about and I have taken these into consideration.
- Best Buy Bonus:
The laptop went on sale shortly after I bought it. After reaching out, Best Buy quickly resolved the issue and credited my card with the discounted price + tax so I couldn't be happier. I'm glad I bought at Best Buy because if I had bought this from Apple I wouldn't have been able to get this benefit.

MacBook Pro Exceeds Expectations

I love my 2020 MacBook Pro. I got the 16GB, i5 model, and the processing power exceeds my expectations. Editing 4k video is surprisingly smooth on it, and you can operate multiple programs on it with ease. Ableton, Adobe Premiere, Logic, and Photoshop all function smoothly and without any problems or lag so far. When I originally bought this MacBook, I had issues with the display malfunctioning, but I was able to return it to Best Buy and exchange it for a new one. I have not had any problems with the replacement and assume the original was just a lemon. The magic keyboard is smooth and works great. The display is clear and high res. The Touch Bar was a little annoying at first, but after getting used to using it for various tasks, it's a pretty handy tool. So far, I'm enjoying using the MacBook for all kinds of media editing and production.

Get if on sale to price closer to 8th gen

I’ve tried all magic keyboard MacBooks and I’ve settled on the 13” inch 10th gen i5 model, normally $1799 but I feel that’s too high. On sale for $1599 or $1649 is probably worth it. Here are my reasons in comparison to the 2019 16” Pro, 2020 13” inch 8th gen Intel Pro, and the 2020 Air (in no particular order).
Reasons Against the other machines:
1. 16” is just too big and heavy. If you need raw power, obviously that would be your best bet. But for mobility, 16” is just too heavy and bulky.
2. The new Air screen is too dim and noticeably lacking colors that “pop” in comparison to the Pros. The lack of DCI-P3 (100% sRGB and 500 nits brightness compares to the Air around 65% and 400 nits) is too noticeable for me. If you never look at the nicer screen, you’ll be fine, but if you do, you’ll won’t want to compromise.
3. 8th gen Intel 2020 13” is standard 8gb ram compared to 10th gen Intel model with 16gb. Most people use Chrome, and that eats up about 1.21 jigawatts of ram for each tab open. You’d have to spend more to bump up to 16gb of ram. Not worth it. I’m sure Apple knew this. If you only need 8gb of ram, you’re likely using it to browse the web and do the emails so maybe an iPad and keyboard is better suited.
Reasons to buy this version:
1. Keyboard is amazing. But that’s available on all models. Still. It’s a huge plus in general.
2. 10th gen i5 is fast. It’s faster Than a 2018 15.4 Pro according to benchmarks.
3. Screen is beautiful. When you have a dedicated GPU, when it’s on, the colors adjust every So slightly. It’s quite the pain adjusting color settings when the dGPU kicks in. I personally like the RGB profile and disable adjust brightness automatically. This gives it a real nice pop in colors.
4. Lighter than the 16”
5. Speakers are improved.
6. Did I mention the keyboard?
All in all, if you can get this on sale. It’s worth it. To bump up the MacBook Air to 16gb and an i7 to compete, you’re looking at roughly $1400 and that’s just crazy to me. The 16” is good performance for the money so if you had to pick another it’d be the 16”. But that feels a little over priced for what you’re getting. If the dGPU was better without spending a ton to get the better GPU.

Excellent Laptop, Get the 10th Gen Processors

First, I will admit - I got caught up in the Apple rumor mill and was hoping for a bit more of a radical upgrade, like a 14 inch monitor and new sound system similar to the upgrades to the 16 inch Macbook Pro. But I needed a new laptop now, and this really is a worthy upgrade. My biggest suggestion though is to spend the extra money to get at least the 10th gen processors, because in addition to upgraded processors you get other upgrades like 4 USB-C ports instead of 2, faster RAM, two fans instead of one, and upgraded internal speakers.
As for the machine itself, it really is a delight. The new Magic Keyboard is really a great typing experience and a monumental upgrade over the butterfly keys on the previous models. The laptop itself is fast and powerful, and while occasionally it will run a little warm, I've never had it overheat or have the fan fire hard on everyday tasks.

First time Mac user and I'm blown away!

I have been a pc guy since my very first HP bought on Black Friday in 1997, I bought my very first Apple product when the iPhone 6 came out... since then, I have added an iPad, Watch, AirPods, Apple TV and even a HomePod. I have never had a Mac or Macbook. in fact, the only reason that I got this machine was that since being relegated to working from home, my air pods would not stay connected to my Alienware 17. I also have a Surface Pro that was for work, but its a little too small to have hours of webinars and video conferences on all day. So after much research, my wife bought me this MacBook pro. It only takes a little getting used to MacOS, switching from Windows. The biggest issue is that all the window controls are reversed, top left corner of the screen to close, minimize or go full screen. I'm still learning how to do things in macOS but its very intuitive and pretty easy to use.
On to the machine... I LOVE IT. The keyboard is fantastic. I like the Touch Bar for filling in the blanks on forms. I could see why some people hate it, but I kinda like it. The speakers sound great, the screen is fantastic. the size and weight are just right for portability and all day usage. The trackpad ... OMG I had no idea what I was missing by using Windows all these years. it big, responsive, and the gestures! they are amazing. I used a mouse with my surface and Alienware laptop. I'm pretty sure I don't even need one on this machine. Some people complain about the lack of a touch panel, but I don't even know what I would use it for on this machine. I used to use it to zoom in on my surface, but with the trackpad on this Mac, its just as easy, and you don't get fingerprints all over your screen.
Lastly, the integration with all of my other Apple devices ties it all together. I really am happy with this machine and, if you have an iPhone and need a powerful portable laptop, you will be happy with this amazing Macbook Pro.

This is a nice upgrade from my old MacBook Air. It's a little smaller and about the same weight. Wish it had at least one USB port. I had to purchase a new mouse as the USB to C adapter I bought was too obtrusive looking. It is super fast and easy to set up and use. Main difference I notice is that this one runs pretty hot sometimes. The keyboard is a nice upgrade, too.

Bought this MacBook as a birthday present for my better half and she absolutely loves it. It's very compact and easy to use. As with all Apple products the build and finish are immaculate. Great performance so far as expected. The Touch Bar is a great feature too. Overall a great MacBook if you are looking for a compact size that packs a punch where it matters.

Not only is this laptop user-friendly, it also packs a punch in it's capabilities. I can design things on the fly for work, shuffle through multiple pages of various documents without it getting jumbled, or just watch silly YouTube videos in excellent quality.
I thought the Touch Bar was just some fancy thing I would rarely use, but I find myself using it quite often. It's like a mind reader!
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again. Don't be afraid of the price tag...you're gonna love this computer.

Size is perfect for what I need - lightweight makes it easy to transport. I am in the Apple ecosystem, owning an iPhone, iPad and MacBook Pro. The latter, after nearly six years, was finally showing signs of age so BestBuy gave me a $250 trade-in. I purchased this item as a compromise between the most expensive model, and what I though was underpowered (i3 processor). So far, so good.
Any concerns I had about the i5 chip are gone. The laptop is faster than my former laptop, and at 13.3" its size and weight make it portable and easy to use.
As expect, iOS is the easiest OS is the most user-friendly OS on the marker; for comparison I bought a Chrombook for my kids' school, and they prefer my MacBook (or iPad, lol). Set up was complete in about 15 minutes. The fingerprint reader is a great addition which alleviates having to retype passwords.
The Retina display is crisp, and beautiful. I installed Office 360, and all the programs run smoothly, without delay. The Apple equivalents are much improved, and easer to use than before. I prefer the latter because MS Officer programs are over-engineered requiring an associates degree to use whilst the Apple Equivalents (Keynote, Pages and Numbers) practically teach you how to use even their most complicated functions.
In summary, this little beast gives you a lot of bang for the buck. If you're working in multiple, RAM-intensive applications, etc. then you'll probably need the i7 with more RAM but this little baby is enough for regular use, and even flexes it's muscles for a time with RAM-intensive programs.
