I almost went for the base model and I would have been in the same predicament I left from (2011 MacBook Pro) when I looked at my activity monitor at my memory I was averaging around 7-12gb of ram which goes to show if I had 8gb I probably would have been lagging some. 512gb is also a happy medium so it was perfect. In deed I don’t edit like that and I use iMovie this config is where it is at.

Almost Perfect…

Owned for 5 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased my first MacBook Pro 11 years and while it’s still up and running I definitely needed an upgrade. At first glance this is definitely a MAJOR upgrade. The only thing I don’t like about it is Apple decided to remove ALL of the USB ports in the CD drive. This is a major inconvenience. Especially if you want to do something as simple as ripping a CD (yeah some people still do that, lol) You have to purchase a separate hub where you can connect things like USB cables and flash drives and a CD/DVD drive if you want to rip music or watch movies if you are still in the physical media era like myself.

Upgrades are very nice, especially the speaker/sound quality. Not thrilled with the battery life as it doesn't last near as long as the old one.
