I have had countless problems with Windows laptops and decided to make the switch to Mac. So far, this computer has been flawless! It fits all of my needs- it can multitask very well (I currently have about 12 tabs and 5 windows open and it's a solid 44C), it's extremely powerful, the battery lasts a long time, and the learning curve wasn't too steep! (Can I add that it looks very clean too?) I'm getting myself a skin for it because I want some added protection for it. The touchbar is very useful for me (and kind of makes up for the lack of touchscreen) but overall, MacOS and this computer have been amazing!

This is my first MacBook Pro, an upgrade from my 2015 MacBook Air. At that time I opted for Air instead of Pro solely based on the weight, and to be honest, I was slightly concern about the convenience to carry Pro around before this purchase. BUT! The new design is so sleek and light-weighted, almost the same size and weight to the 2015 Air if not lighter. However, in order to reduce the weight, Apple got rid of all the USB ports and SIM card reader, instead, you got two Type-C ports, so beware of the potential add-on costs for adapters ($10-$100).
Other than the weight, I would like to address to the touch bar, which received plenty of mixed reviews. Personally, I like it. You can insert emojis directly from the touch bar while typing, and customize the screenshot function (including screen recording) so you don't have to remember the weirdest/most inconvenience shortcut combinations. I agree there are still a lot of improvements that can be done with the touch bar, but I don't think it's a complete hype.

Great productivity laptop despite being base model

First time MacBook user here, and I am just blown away from how snappier this machine truly is compared to my gaming desktop. I bought this with the intention of video editing and audio production, and since it is a base model, it's honestly fairly sort of easy to make it reach up to its max (say, doing a lot of intensive 4k work, and having extraneous amounts of audio tracks). However, in practicality and usability... it still honestly works far and amazingly. To potential buyers who was scared as I was watching many many YouTube videos reviewing the product, keep in mind, a lot of those folks are super high end tech enthusiasts who are so used to the latest and greatest that often times that may cloud perception. For me, even despite the fact that this thing rocks an older ram and cpu generation than the more expensive counterparts in its model range, it still works seriously snappy and works fantastic for most everyday folks.
I did take one star off since I do feel that the only real caveat to the whole thing is the storage. 256gb isn't enough for much. Granted, I have been making do since I store all my productivity work on an external storage unit (which I figure is what apple was intending anyways) but otherwise, it is sort of a bummer having to continually run through a dongle and generally have that worry on the back of your mind as to what gets saved and where. Otherwise the device works fantastic!

It was exactly what my girlfriend was looking for. We love the size and color of it. Super cool bar touchscreen and screen pixels look amazing. The only thing I would say negatively about is poor quality on the picture camera, I was expecting better resolution of the picture when I first turned on the camera, but it is what it is. I thought the price was a little bit expensive. Overall, I don't regret the buy.

Runs zoom fan-less, unlike the air. Runs thinkorswim flawlessly, Word, PowerPoint, excel, slides. I love this laptop. This MacBook will slice through any task as an online student. It really is the perfect machine. No regrets getting this before Apple Silicon. I know I am purchasing a solid machine that will last me years.

Dad Loving It So Far!

Bought this for my dad as an early Father's Day gift. He's been using a iPhone 5 and the screen is too small for his aging eyes. He also hasn't had a laptop in a long time and figured he's due for an upgrade. I saw an ad for the new Macbook Pro 13in for 2020 but figured it might be too much of a "laptop" for him since he's just going to do emails, watch youTube videos, and surf the internet. I was going to get him a chromebook but he really wanted an Apple Macbook. Setting up is pretty easy and what I thought was cool was the Touch Bar feature and the Touch ID. The Macbook is really fast and hopefully it'll last for 10 years.

Loving my MacBook Pro 13! First time having a MacBook of any kind. I thought about purchasing one for a very long time. I thought it would be difficult to learn how to use it. Really it’s almost self efficient. Programs run so smoothly, the sleek design is great. I really enjoy the Touch Bar. If I had to do a con, it would be I couldn’t get the rose gold at time of purchase, lol.

I have been using macbook for my entire adult life. I like the pro model the best. My last macbook went through the ringer and still was working, but became outdated. I upgraded to this machine and I am pleased overall. I miss the ability to customize the hardware myself and now everything is soldered in place, meaning you can't cheaply upgrade your RAM or anything anymore. The touchbar is a nice feature, though I would like macbooks to join the touchscreen era. I like the SSD over the old hard drives and really see the difference in instant speed as a result. I'd recommend this so far. I hope reliability is still a feature.

This is our 3rd MacBook in our home. Unfortunately one of our computers got a cracked screen and we had to replace it. We love our MacBook Pro its very easy to use and the battery life is excellent. It's a perfect size to take along with me in my oversized purse. It's not heavy or cumbersome. Love It!

Has the best processor for power to battery ratio. 256gb of storage is comfortable for small files. 8gb of ram is perfect for having a few tabs open for school. Perfect laptop for basic typing and school operations. Also Touch Bar is a must have!

Laptop is beautifully designed. It’s thin, light, portable with excellent quality and feel. Screen is bright and easy on the eyes. Keyboard is very comfortable to type on and touchpad works great and the right size. Touchbar is very responsive and quite functional for something that’s very small. You won’t know it’s there unless you look at it or use its functions.
I would have given it a Five Stars if it had two more USB-C ports or regular USB ports on the other side. My other MacBook Pro(2018) has two USB-C ports on each side(4 ports total).

This was my first huge purchase and it was so worth it! I use it for work, travel and personal. It has one of the best battery lives I've seen in a laptop. Super lightweight and very easy to travel with. I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a quality computer.

This MacBook Pro has been the perfect addition for my school work/work. It is super fast, the intel is amazing. I switched from a PC and I was nervous I wouldn’t care for it, but i love it so much more than my HP.

I upgraded from my mid 2015 13" MacBook Pro and I'm satisfied with the upgrade. The touch bar took awhile to get used to but after customizing it some, I'm happy with it. My only complaint was that the first 2020 MacBook Pro I received had a kernel panic failure every time I would open the lid to use it. After contacting Apple support and getting no resolution, I ended up exchanging it for a new one. I haven't had any problems with the model since so I'm guessing it was just a faulty product.

I love the sleek design and 13 inch is not too small or not too bulky. The fingerprint scanner is awesome as well as the processing speed. I wish the store had a 13 inch with the M1 chip, but I needed something right then and there.
