Only thing that bothers me , a little, is the black color which makes little particles and dust on the keyboard visible. It’s a solid, fast , well-built machine with decent battery life.

I love this Mac! Everything flows so easily. All the information from my old Mac integrated perfectly and simply. Everything was saved and organized exactly as it was. All the features and syncing with my other Apple products is seamless.

So I checked out the MacBook Pro 14” with the new Apple M4 chip, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and from a local LLM usage point of view, it’s honestly quite impressive but with a few caveats. What works well: The M4 chip is blazing fast and super efficient. If you're planning to run smaller models like LLaMA2 7B or Mistral 7B (quantized), this thing handles them pretty well; no drama, no noise, smooth experience. 16GB unified memory is okay for local inference, prompt testing, and playing around with intelligent agents or local tools like Ollama or llama.cpp. The SSD is also snappy, quick model loads, fast caching, very responsive. macOS with Metal support has matured too, so ML acceleration isn't bad at all. What to watch out for: 16GB RAM is your ceiling here. You're gonna struggle if you try running anything heavier than 7B unless it's super compressed or you're using some creative workarounds. No NVIDIA GPU, so you’re not getting CUDA acceleration. That limits you a bit if you're used to the performance of Linux + GPU setups. Extended heavy lifting (like longer sessions or local fine-tuning) can heat things up, and it might throttle over time. Bottom line: If you're doing local dev work, building agents, or just testing models in your flow; this MacBook Pro is more than enough. Quiet, fast, portable. But yeah, for heavier stuff like training or 13B+ models, a better hardware is a must.

Great quality! I love MacBooks and normally I go to the Apple Store for them, but Best Buy was just as good.

Upgraded from my old Macbook Pro M1 and it's been great! I love the different ports this one comes with, it makes it so much better to work with and overall a much more useful experience. The color is also fingerprint free, i do not have to worry about it being dirty with fingerprint stains.
