The M4 Pro MacBook is insanely fast. Apps open instantly, battery lasts all day, and the screen looks amazing. No lag at all, even with heavy work. Easily the best MacBook I’ve used.

I use this laptop for development and general tasks. Speed is quite amazing. No slowdown with 3+ browsers and ~20+ tabs each. If you have an iPhone, the apple ecosystem works great, allowing you to answer text messages and autocompleting text verification code (safari only). It's great on the go with its long lasting battery life and I can use it in multiple 5 hour sessions without needing to charge it. Sound is great for a laptop as well. The HDMI port is pretty handy without needing to connect to a dock. I use a kvm switch and hdmi port to an LG C2 TV. You need to go to inputs and configure it to PC for clear picture output, but other than that it works great @4k 120hz. I was worried about heat problems, but this doesn't get hot at all despite running all the browsers and development tasks. I haven't gotten to push the CPU to the max at all yet, though I have yet to try local LLMs. CPU runs at roughly 105F/40C on average tasks.

I've had this computer for several weeks and can say its performance is excellent. I've used it for Zoom meetings without being on the charger and an hour long meeting barely changed the charge level. It's also super fast for processing large photo files. Be sure to purchase a Thunderbolt 5 external storage SSD to maximize its performance. I love it when Best Buy sells Apple computers for less than Apple and then gives Total members even better warranty coverage.

I really like the battery life. Switched from an xps 15 and like my Mac more. Build quality is not even close from any other brand.

OMG super fast and super smooth. Had to retire an old home built PC that did not want to install Windows 11 and said it is time for a change. I've decided to go back to MacBook Pro since I missed the ease of use on the amchine. Great machine and simple to setup out of the box. Battery life is amazing and the screen is so clear.

Upgraded from the m1 macbook air and good lord! I am a very heavy user and have an overkill desktop pc to train machine learning models. Sure, my old m1 air was able to keep up with the demanding work I did (delegating most of the heavy lifting to my pc) but it slowed down over time, and the lack of memory (8 gigs shared) was clearly slowing me down. I've been eyeing the M3 pro for quite some time but never made the jump and when M4 came out, I had this feeling that this was the right time to get it (and so glad I did). The battery life is "good", still miss my macbook air's lightweight form factor with insane battery life (even at 88% battery health). By far, the 24gigs of memory paired with the insanely performant M4 pro chip is what makes this product so worth it. The display is mini led (if you used the ipad 12", you will know) with significant "ghosting", but it is only apparent in extremely dark images/videos/workflows. The weight is on the heavier side (no where near my gaming pc tho) but the additional usb-c ports with the hdmi port makes up for it. If you want a PC for regular use or for college with a less computer demanding major, this is not for you, But.. If you are into a competitive major (CS/DS/Engineering) or into content creation (3D/GFX) then this is going to be the perfect device.

For someone converting from windows os, this is probably the best laptop ive ever owned from looks to speed. The display is crisp & the sound is amazing. Well worth the money, its definitely something i feel will stand the test of time for years to come!

This laptop replaced last year base model M2 15 inch MacBook Air. If I add 16 gb ram and 512 gb hard drive to 15 air modelI am at $1700 and never had performance of this laptop. So it is good compromise, weight is not much different either than 15 air model. This spec is good for 5 years and more. I have used 2012 MacBook Pro till last year when replaced it with MacBook Air. 8GB ram is main problem in any Apple laptop. I got burned loosing money on trade in on one year old machine. I think base model m4 with 16 GB ram and 512 GB storage is good for most application. I over paid $400 over base model for my usage which mostly office application and no games. It will best use 10 plus hours per day usually and better spec is good for future proofing and this one has dual fans as compare to base model. These M4 models are really good but not wort upgrading from any M1 chip only if one has less ram It has all the latest thunderbolt 5 ports and an extra one on rhs as well.
