A little powerhouse. Works like a desktop. And this is the entry level M4 Pro MacBook. It's all snappy, and fluid. 30, 40 tabs in safari, with Photoshop moving large images (like multi-gb images), and InDesign open applying live blends and transparencies to large multi-page images (these aren't the craziest of tasks, but heavy enough...), and Parallels running an Win11 VM with Word and Excel running a bunch of docs in coherence mode ... at the same time...It just works fast under load. I have an 2022 HP Xeon workstation that would die doing that if it didn't have 128GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD swap drive (I have one at work, and I have seen it get bogged down). It's a Mac, so there are quirks built in. You're locked in the garden of Apple. Nice place and all. But I miss running the games I clearly have the horsepower to run, but the engine and fuel are all different (WinOS and Intel), so they won't drive right. MacOS - form your own opinion. Oh well. I like it ... now. And I can never forget this: $$$$ But since my gadgets (phone, tablet, watch, old MacBook etc.) are such great friends, it's really sweet. If you can afford it, get the 16 inch version with more cores, RAM, and a bigger SSD drive. But the entry level M4 Pro isn't anyone's slouch. I really love it.

After decades as windows user, I decide to migrate to a MacBook. I’m impress with the build quality and how seamless this integrates into the apple eco system. The laptop will be used for both business & personal use with perhaps some light gaming. It’s quick and responsive & haven’t had much issue yet learning the operating system—very similar to the iPhone & IPad.

Outstanding Performance and Future-Proofing with 24GB RAM I picked up the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 Pro chip and 24GB unified memory from Best Buy, and it’s been a game-changer. Coming from an older Intel model, the speed is insane—multitasking with dozens of tabs, editing in Photoshop or Final Cut Pro, and even light AI tasks fly without any lag or fan noise. The 24GB RAM handles everything I throw at it smoothly, with plenty of headroom for years to come. Battery life easily lasts a full day, the Liquid Retina XDR display is stunningly bright and color-accurate, and the Space Black finish looks premium. Best Buy’s pickup was seamless too. If you’re debating RAM upgrades, 24GB strikes the perfect balance for pros without going overboard. Highly recommend

Been a Windows user for a long time and I decided to switch to Mac. It was complicated at first but thanks to the tutorials and changing some features on settings, it has now become easier for me to use. I love how this laptop has great battery life and it takes around 2 days to lower the battery. Quality is amazing btw. Mac>>>Windows

recently upgraded to the MacBook M4 Pro from my older Intel-based MacBook, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. The performance leap is incredible—everything feels instant, from opening apps to running heavier software like Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro. The new M4 Pro chip absolutely flies through multitasking without breaking a sweat. The battery life is another standout feature. I can easily get through a full day of work and then some, even when editing videos or working with large design files. The display is stunning—colors are vibrant, and the brightness allows for comfortable use even in brighter environments. The keyboard feels great to type on, and the trackpad remains the best in the industry. I also love the build quality; it feels premium and solid while staying surprisingly light and portable. Overall, the MacBook M4 Pro delivers an exceptional blend of performance, battery life, and design. If you’re considering an upgrade or need a powerhouse for creative work, this is absolutely worth it!

I never had a great computer. I invested in this one because I want something to last more than a few years like my MacBook Air M1 did and I plan on using this for heavier than my M1. So far I have never used any computer that is better than this one.

I used to be a never Mac guy. Still had an iPhone and iPad for work but used a PC for everything. Then windows 11 happened. Wanted something that worked better. Tried a mac mini M2 and loved it. Went from the mac mini m2 to this MacBook Pro. The increase in performance is incredible. This is my main source for everything I need in the productivity department. Handles all tasks with no hiccups. I still keep a windows gaming rig but it is dedicated to just that. Hopefully more developers like those who made Cyberpunk migrate more titles over. Cyberpunk looks incredible on this machine!

Updating from a 10 year old Intel MacBook Pro, this seems to be a massive upgrade in all aspects. Especially impressed with the battery life and the efficiency to deliver even complex editing and compiling tasks without any heating or fan usage. If you own any Apple silicon MacBook Pro, it might not be as big an upgrade for you but it will definitely impress you.

The value powerhouse of the MacBook Pro lineup

This 14 inch MacBook Pro with M4 Pro chip is the value leader for portable pro systems, especially when on sale. Getting the Pro chip (despite a couple less cores than the full Pro chip) and higher memory (24) and storage (512) compared to the base model (16/256) are key. Having gone through almost every MacBook Pro prior to Apple Silicon, I still miss having the plethora of pro ports on them, and would've highly preferred an ethernet jack to the SD card. I understand I'm in the minority on that though. Thanks to this being the M4 Pro, rather than the base, it also gets Thunderbolt 5, rather than just Thunderbolt 4, for both higher speed drives right now and possible long term future proofing. With Thunderbolt 5 and USB C, it is easy to get a single dongle with everything you'd want to use on it that is easy to leave on a desk and have power delivery through, or to carry with you for those times you need to attach something while you're out. If it weren't for the sale price that BestBuy had, putting this particular model in an even better value proposition than most, I would've ordered it with the nano-texture glass, which is a game changer in bright lights, and even better than the anti-glare no-glass solutions of the past that I loved. Most of the time it'll be used closed with external displays though, so this is still fine for my needs. If you plan to run it flat out most of the time and use power delivery through a dongle that uses a few watts of power before sending it on, get the larger power brick. The included one mostly keeps up when connected directly, but through even 100W PD capable dongles, is just low enough that the battery will continually drain a bit as you continue to push the chip and system in performance mode for hours at a time. If you're not doing day long renders or similar with it locked in performance mode, this will be fine. But if not, get the larger output power brick for your workstation setup and keep the smaller one that comes with this in your bag for extended travel.

This MacBook is as smooth as silk. The transitioning between tabs and applications is seamless and effortless. Synching with my iPhone is simple and it creates a web of constant connectivity no matter where I am or what I am doing. Going for the 24GB RAM might have been a little overkill for what I do but I am future proof if things change. Not sure why it took me so long to switch from Windows but no matter, I won't ever go back. My only complaint is that it does not support dual monitors daisy chained out of the box like my thinkpad did but it is easily corrected with an adapter.

Absolutely love this computer. The speed is unparalleled, especially if you’re upgrading from an Intel MacBook or Intel Mac in general. 24 gb ram is more than enough for most people too. They could always offer more storage, but Apple has to corner you into paying for iCloud (among other things). Overall, got a great deal at the price point.
