The M5 chip is super fast. The display is stunning! The one thing I dislike about the M5 MacBook Pro is no Touch Bar. However, I’m ecstatic that they brought back the HDMI port and the SD Card slot.

Upgraded from an 8GB Ram to this bad boy and I am super happy with everything. It runs lightening smooth and I am already much more efficient!

I produce music and this is a world of difference over the M1 Pro from a few years ago. It’s a welcome change and I’m glad they kept the current design. Also the 24 gigs of RAM vs 16 was a notable change.

Performance for color grading and video rendering is amazing. Also the customer service at the BestBuy store was superb and the credit approval fast and easy. I'm definitely shopping again here.

This is my first MacBook. I've been using it for about a week and I'm quite happy with it. It has great battery life and is very lightweight. I'm very satisfied.

Only drawback is if you intended to run mlx llm's on this, the non pro cpu is a bottleneck even compared to m2 pro. Everything besides that including casual gaming is fine. War thunder, blue archive, ac shadows. Just need to use a wine wrapper through home brew. I primarily use this machine for college in the areas of cisco netcad, netlab, web dev, java, and general reading / writing. You could use most laptops for my course work without issue; I chose mac for 4 reasons: 1. battery life is unmatched, I'm hardly using 10% after 2 hours of doing packet tracer, listening to a show, and having 20 tabs open in addition to a bunch of documentation files. 2. screen works outside with up to 1600 nits continuous brightness & anti-reflection coating. I have a chair outside in the front garden I can chill on and do my work no issues for hours on end. 3. Apple silicon is very powerful relative to the low power consumption, intel and amd can only dream. 4. This is my first mac at age 29, I need to learn how to use this system for future interactions at work.

I replaced my Intel i9 MacBook Pro with this machine. It gives me more compute and amazing battery life. I performs tons of task and it just keeps churning along.
