Great Computer for Moderate Video Editing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac. I owned a 3rd gen iPad, so some of the general stuff was somewhat similar (such as settings). But I have been a lifelong Windows user. So coming to Mac has been an adjustment. But I have adjusted well and have enjoyed much of this computer. It is lightweight compared to my old Dell gaming laptop (which I used for video editing). The primary reason for going with the MacBook Pro was for video editing. I am not a heavy editor but do edit for YouTube. So I was not looking for something that a professional would use full time but something that would not bog down. My daughter has a MacBook Air M1 and does some editing on it, but said it does slow down for her. This seemed to fit the bill for what I was looking for. And it has not disappointed. I am using DaVinci Resolve and it works well. It does help that my camera only shoots in 1080p (even though it is a DSLR). As for adjusting to using a Mac vs a Windows PC, it has taken some getting used to. The keystrokes are different from a Windows PC. I still find myself hitting the 'control' button when I mean to hit 'command'. It took me a little time to get used to the track pad. But now I find it almost easier to use than a mouse. But it does not help that I still use a PC at work. Overall, this computer has been great for what I do. Would have I gotten the Pro if I were not video editing? Probably not. I would not have gone any further than an Air. But this is a fast computer, not to mention lightweight, especially compared to my Dell (which was quite a bit heavier and bulkier). The Mac is also great with the battery. When I am just doing general stuff, I find I am not even charging my battery for a few days. My Dell I could go only a couple of hours. I would recommend this all day long for heavier computing. The Air is best for lighter tasks and students writing term papers. For just email and surfing, probably just an iPad would be best suited.

The horsepower trumps the weight.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to retire my MacBook Pro mid-2015 15" b/c -- even after replacing the battery -- I couldn't use it unplugged. And the hard drive got corrupted to the point I couldn't do a system start-up. Bought it in early 2016, got good mileage out of it, figured it was time for an upgrade. best Buy had some solid deals for end of summer / back to school, and the MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro stood out, seemed like the right price point even with the taxes. PROS Battery life -- wow. Seriously, knocking on wood b/c there's no way on earth this is going to last. I am running Excel with multiple 1000-line workbooks, Word, multiple codespaces, streaming videos and i have 50 tabs open (need to get organized, i know) all simultaneously since 6:30am (it's 2pm now) and I'm still at 50%. Camera: not much different than prior MacBook Pro versions, it gets the job the done. Ports: awesome. thank you Apple for rediscovering that ports make our lives easier. CONS Weight -- it's heavy. And surprisingly thick. Probably b/c of the additional fan and ports, but compromises are necessary. The crap ThinkPad my company forces me to use is slimmer. And my old 2015 macbook pro 15" weighs less and just felt sleeker, almost like a macbook air. But if this is the tradeoff for performance, then it's a small price to pay. The cutout in the body to open the laptop (no idea what the right term is nor do I care) . How have the world's master designers not realized that when you open your laptop using the cut-out or whatever they call it, your fingers will smudge the camera .

Not a fanboy, but I am a fan of this computer.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.performance is amazing, battery life is amazing - but the performance on battery...now theres something that still blows me away, 3 months into using the machine. Apple hype aside, this is a great computer. Base storage is a tad low, but an external SSD with high transfer speeds (which i use plenty of anyways for A/V content) make it a non issue for me.

Best Laptop Money Can Buy
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is just something about these new MacBooks. The display's are beautiful, the speakers phenomenal, the battery life unbeatable and they have processors that can tackle most any task. People will talk up the competition and those manufacturers will add bells and whistles and try to match specs, but they are not and will likely never be the same.

Very happy and impressed with my new MacBook Pro!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely love my new MacBook Pro! Battery life is incredible! On standby the battery lasts almost 2 weeks with out having to be charged! Even with use, I still get a solid week before having to charge it. Very fast, graphics are amazing and slim, and lightweight(considering I’m upgrading from an older MacBook Pro which had some weight to it). Just overall very pleased with it!

Amazing MacBookPro M3Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Awesome laptop, this is why you call this laptop because you will mostly use it on your lap and most Windows laptop battery sucks, This one you can use it all day without plugging on to an outlet. Built to last, because it an Apple made. Computing stuff so fast. Definitely the color of it is so freaking nice. Expensive yes but its worth every penny. Freaking good device.

Awesome!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great machine. I did a lot of 4K video editing and encoding and the fans didn’t even turn on (these heavy tasks barely stressed it). Great screen, great sound and awesome battery. I am set for the next few years. And the BestBuy experience was great. The price was reduced during my exchange period and BeatBuy immediate matched the new price and provided the difference as refund.

First Mac. Not going back.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After using it for a year, not as I originally planned, it’s been the best thing. The only thing to make it better would be to have the ability to put cellular service on it. Speed is amazing. Battery is fantastic. Weight and size is perfect. I’m in love. My first Mac, and I’m not going back.

Great product.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the MacBook Pro 14” with the M3 Pro chip, and it’s amazing. The Space Black design looks really cool, and it’s super fast. With 18GB of memory and a powerful GPU, everything runs smoothly, even when I’m doing a lot at once. The 512GB SSD gives me plenty of storage and quick access to my files. The battery lasts all day, which is great. Overall, it’s a fantastic laptop that I totally recommend!

The greatest computer I've ever had.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this for exactly a year now, so I feel like it's the perfect time to write a review. It is a perfect computer. It's bold, not fragile. It has a HDMI entrance that is very useful. The screen and the sound are amazing. It never had any bugs or lags. It's quick and opens everything. Amazing M3 pro chip. I would recommend this to anyone and I hope it lasts a long time. The only bad thing I could say about it is that is kind of unexpectedly heavy and it turns on immediately after we open the laptop, what makes it impossible to clean the keyboard. But I think these are details and the product is still amazing.

Upgraded from Intel i9 Macbook Pro
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As the title states, I upgraded from a 2018/2019 Intel i9 Macbook Pro 16” Retina w/ touchbar. The processing power is night and day. Everything about the new Macbook Pro screams quality and performance. My previous macbook pro would sound like a fighter jet when fans came on to perform simple tasks. Vastly improved battery life, quiet processor fans (I haven’t heard them kick on yet), and far less heat than my previous generation MacBook Pro. Highly recommend if you haven’t upgraded to Apple silicon yet.

Workhorse Laptop
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this MacBook Pro in early fall 2024. The M3 pro chip has been phenomenal in handling my workload. My previous device was a MacBook Pro from 2019 with one of the intel chips and a MacBook air before that which has completely died. I am a program developer so I typically am running 1-2 programs at all times and will add in 3-4 more thought my time using the computer during the day. The computer doesn't even come close to slowing down or having any lag. The only "issue" I am dealing with now is if my internet isn't fast enough to manage my programs and browsing. I am a mac person- have had one for the last 15 years over the growth of the macbooks. If you do a lot on your laptop and prefer mac, this is a great option. If you don't do as much, could probably get away with one of the airs but don't sleep on these M1, M2, M3 etc chips!! They are game changers

Fast and nimble
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to replace an aging MacBook Pro that I have been using for photo and video editing for about 6 years. The jump from the old intel chips to the M chips is astonishing. Every is super fast and responsive. I can batch edit photos in less time than it used to take me to do just a few. The screen is sharp, and the colors are vivid. I highly recommend this computer. Great portable size, but still enough screen real estate to be productive. I absolutely love it.

Unleashing Power and Elegance: My MacBook Experie
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought a MacBook from Best Buy, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase. The MacBook's sleek, lightweight design makes it incredibly portable and stylish. The Retina display is stunning, with vibrant colors and sharp details that make everything look fantastic, whether I'm working or streaming videos. Performance-wise, this MacBook is a powerhouse. The latest M-series chip handles multitasking and demanding applications effortlessly. I can have multiple apps open without any slowdown, and the battery life is outstanding, easily lasting me through a full day of work and entertainment. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the large trackpad is super responsive, making navigation a breeze. I also appreciate how seamlessly macOS integrates with my other Apple devices, making file sharing and connectivity a smooth experience. My shopping experience at Best Buy was excellent. The staff were knowledgeable and helped me find the right model for my needs. The entire process was quick and hassle-free, and I felt confident in my purchase. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with my new MacBook. It's a bit of an investment, but the performance, quality, and user experience make it well worth the price. I highly recommend the MacBook and Best Buy for anyone in the market for a new laptop.

Happily Surprised and Satisfied.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's fast. I'm coming from Windows and it's taking me a bit to get used to but hasn't been difficult. The machine itself is very well built and have I mentioned it's fast? The battery life is amazing, my Windows laptop maxed out about 1.5 to 2 hours, this goes all day. It's also kind of pretty so far as such things go. I'm not giving up my Windows desktop for this but the Mac has taken over about everything else.

Swiss Army knife of laptops
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The perfect combination of value and performance and the peace of mind of a high resale value in the future. Battery life is excellent and single and multicore speed are some of the best in this price range. Mainly used for editing in Resolve Studio with awesome results. Also excellent at modeling and 3D simulation, all while in battery! Been using Macs since the middle-late 80s and this is by far the best Mac of its generation.
