Macbook Pro The MacBook Pro excels in performance, especially with Apple's M3-series chips, offering fast processing, excellent battery life, and a stunning Liquid Retina XDR display. The build quality is top-notch, and recent models bring back useful ports like HDMI and an SD card slot. While it's pricey and lacks a touchscreen, it's still a top choice for professionals needing a powerful, reliable laptop.

If you haven't upgraded your Macbook in the past >3 years then it's worth 'considering' an upgrade. M3 Pro chip and the high RAM is great to have for the long run. 512GB is alright considering there is cloud option for storing large amount of images and videos. I prefer to save on storage a bit and go with higher performance. Can't help notice the fan noise although it's on the quiet end of the spectrum. Display is hands down one of the best as expected. Large track pad is great to have. For the love of god... buy a screen protective cloth when you buy a MacBook, the screen could potentially get keyboard pattern imprinted if you're unlucky because of the coating the display has.

I had to retire my MacBook Pro mid-2015 15" b/c -- even after replacing the battery -- I couldn't use it unplugged. And the hard drive got corrupted to the point I couldn't do a system start-up. Bought it in early 2016, got good mileage out of it, figured it was time for an upgrade. best Buy had some solid deals for end of summer / back to school, and the MacBook Pro 14" M3 Pro stood out, seemed like the right price point even with the taxes. PROS Battery life -- wow. Seriously, knocking on wood b/c there's no way on earth this is going to last. I am running Excel with multiple 1000-line workbooks, Word, multiple codespaces, streaming videos and i have 50 tabs open (need to get organized, i know) all simultaneously since 6:30am (it's 2pm now) and I'm still at 50%. Camera: not much different than prior MacBook Pro versions, it gets the job the done. Ports: awesome. thank you Apple for rediscovering that ports make our lives easier. CONS Weight -- it's heavy. And surprisingly thick. Probably b/c of the additional fan and ports, but compromises are necessary. The crap ThinkPad my company forces me to use is slimmer. And my old 2015 macbook pro 15" weighs less and just felt sleeker, almost like a macbook air. But if this is the tradeoff for performance, then it's a small price to pay. The cutout in the body to open the laptop (no idea what the right term is nor do I care) . How have the world's master designers not realized that when you open your laptop using the cut-out or whatever they call it, your fingers will smudge the camera .

The capability of this laptop is incredible. Plus the space black is beautiful. Apple products are always top quality materials and this is certainly no exception. For the every day user, this one might be overkill. But if you ever do some video or photo editing this is a must. It has kept up with everything that I’ve thrown at it. Plus the ability to use type C for data and charging has been a huge plus. The battery life has been excellent even when editing. If you need a reliable and beautiful laptop this should be at the top of your list.

The MacBook Pro M3 Pro in Space Black is a performance powerhouse. It is blazing fast. It is impressively portable. The thin and lightweight design makes it easy to carry, yet it doesn’t compromise on the user experience. First time Apple introduced a space black color laptop and i love it. Only issue is the charger brick and the magsafe cable which is still white in color which looks odd. If you are professional, this is the laptop for you.

There is just something about these new MacBooks. The display's are beautiful, the speakers phenomenal, the battery life unbeatable and they have processors that can tackle most any task. People will talk up the competition and those manufacturers will add bells and whistles and try to match specs, but they are not and will likely never be the same.

Great Computer for Moderate Video Editing

This is my first Mac. I owned a 3rd gen iPad, so some of the general stuff was somewhat similar (such as settings). But I have been a lifelong Windows user. So coming to Mac has been an adjustment. But I have adjusted well and have enjoyed much of this computer. It is lightweight compared to my old Dell gaming laptop (which I used for video editing). The primary reason for going with the MacBook Pro was for video editing. I am not a heavy editor but do edit for YouTube. So I was not looking for something that a professional would use full time but something that would not bog down. My daughter has a MacBook Air M1 and does some editing on it, but said it does slow down for her. This seemed to fit the bill for what I was looking for. And it has not disappointed. I am using DaVinci Resolve and it works well. It does help that my camera only shoots in 1080p (even though it is a DSLR). As for adjusting to using a Mac vs a Windows PC, it has taken some getting used to. The keystrokes are different from a Windows PC. I still find myself hitting the 'control' button when I mean to hit 'command'. It took me a little time to get used to the track pad. But now I find it almost easier to use than a mouse. But it does not help that I still use a PC at work. Overall, this computer has been great for what I do. Would have I gotten the Pro if I were not video editing? Probably not. I would not have gone any further than an Air. But this is a fast computer, not to mention lightweight, especially compared to my Dell (which was quite a bit heavier and bulkier). The Mac is also great with the battery. When I am just doing general stuff, I find I am not even charging my battery for a few days. My Dell I could go only a couple of hours. I would recommend this all day long for heavier computing. The Air is best for lighter tasks and students writing term papers. For just email and surfing, probably just an iPad would be best suited.

As a musician and student, the Apple MacBook Pro 14-inch with the M3 Pro chip has exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek Space Black finish stood out—it’s both stylish and professional, making it a perfect fit for both the studio and the classroom. The M3 Pro chip with its 14-core GPU is a powerhouse. I work with demanding music production software like Logic Pro and Ableton Live, and this machine handles them effortlessly. Whether I’m layering complex tracks, mixing, or mastering, the performance is smooth, with zero lag. The 18GB of memory ensures that even when I’m running multiple plugins and virtual instruments, the laptop doesn’t break a sweat. For school, the 14-inch screen is the ideal size—compact enough to be portable, yet large enough to comfortably work on projects, write papers, and manage my schedule. The 512GB SSD provides ample space for my music projects, school files, and media, with fast load times that keep my workflow seamless. Battery life is another strong point. It easily lasts through a full day of lectures, study sessions, and studio work, which is crucial for my busy schedule. Plus, the portability is a huge advantage—I can take it from class to the studio without feeling weighed down. Overall, the MacBook Pro 14-inch with the M3 Pro chip is an incredible tool for anyone balancing music and academics. It’s powerful, portable, and beautifully designed. I highly recommend it to fellow musicians and students looking for a laptop that can handle intensive creative work and day-to-day tasks with equal ease.

Absolutely love my new MacBook Pro! Battery life is incredible! On standby the battery lasts almost 2 weeks with out having to be charged! Even with use, I still get a solid week before having to charge it. Very fast, graphics are amazing and slim, and lightweight(considering I’m upgrading from an older MacBook Pro which had some weight to it). Just overall very pleased with it!

After using it for a year, not as I originally planned, it’s been the best thing. The only thing to make it better would be to have the ability to put cellular service on it. Speed is amazing. Battery is fantastic. Weight and size is perfect. I’m in love. My first Mac, and I’m not going back.

I got this MacBook Pro in early fall 2024. The M3 pro chip has been phenomenal in handling my workload. My previous device was a MacBook Pro from 2019 with one of the intel chips and a MacBook air before that which has completely died. I am a program developer so I typically am running 1-2 programs at all times and will add in 3-4 more thought my time using the computer during the day. The computer doesn't even come close to slowing down or having any lag. The only "issue" I am dealing with now is if my internet isn't fast enough to manage my programs and browsing. I am a mac person- have had one for the last 15 years over the growth of the macbooks. If you do a lot on your laptop and prefer mac, this is a great option. If you don't do as much, could probably get away with one of the airs but don't sleep on these M1, M2, M3 etc chips!! They are game changers

Awesome laptop, this is why you call this laptop because you will mostly use it on your lap and most Windows laptop battery sucks, This one you can use it all day without plugging on to an outlet. Built to last, because it an Apple made. Computing stuff so fast. Definitely the color of it is so freaking nice. Expensive yes but its worth every penny. Freaking good device.

This is my first Mac laptop. My boss has sworn by macs for many years and most of the team poked lighthearted jokes about him being the only one who uses a mac. After many months of watching him work the speed at which he got tasks done was amazing to me and he credited it largely to his laptop being a Mac. My old windows laptop broke and I needed something powerful that I could travel with while still getting my programming done so I decided to take a leap of faith and see what all the fuss was about. I have enjoyed using a MacBook very much over the last few months, I have even cut down the amount of time using my desktop because I typically just grab my laptop when I need to get something done. The build is amazing, OS is sleek, speed and battery life are insane. I have used tons of windows laptops and I have been used to any sort power usage resulting in 2 hours of battery life before needing a charge, using this has spoiled me, I get over double what I used to on my windows laptop in between charges. The only downside that has serious weight in my mind was the price. I personally feel happy with my purchase, and would recommend to anyone who is doing some power hungry work on the go.
