I recently had a frustrating experience with Best Buy in Beaverton, Oregon, which left me with a sour taste in my mouth. This review addresses both Best Buy's questionable practices and my disappointment with Apple's MacBook Pro M3 chip. Let me start by saying that I'm no stranger to Apple products. I've been a long-time user and have seen Apple make great strides in technology. However, my recent encounter with the MacBook Pro M3 chip left me feeling disappointed. Firstly, the MacBook Pro M3 chip is undoubtedly impressive, but the incremental changes from the M1 or M2 chips are minimal, at best. The real problem lies in the fact that the software running on these machines doesn't seem optimized to fully harness the potential of the M3 chip. Apple's marketing touts it as revolutionary, but in reality, it doesn't deliver significantly improved performance in everyday tasks. What's more concerning is Apple's decision to artificially slow down the MacBook by reducing the memory bandwidth. It's almost as if they deliberately crippled the speed of the MacBooks just to create room for the M3 Ultra model, which is a questionable business practice at best. This kind of profit-driven decision doesn't sit well with me, and it feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. Another aspect that disappoints me about Apple's approach is their unified memory. They claim that even the entry-level model with 8GB of RAM is equivalent to a PC with 16GB. This assertion simply doesn't hold up in real-world usage, and it's misleading to consumers. Apple's continuous price hikes without offering significant value improvements are a sign of greed without boundaries. My frustrations with Best Buy in Beaverton, Oregon, only added to my disappointment. During a trade-in process, they mandated biometric data collection under the pretext of security. Even after providing a purchase order record from Best Buy itself, confirming that my MacBook Pro M1 was bought from them a year ago, they insisted on this invasive procedure, claiming it was local law. I find it hard to believe that there's a "local law" requiring such intrusive practices when we have federal and state laws in place. Best Buy's insistence on this procedure violated my privacy and seemed like a blatant attempt to monetize customer data. It's a clear breach of trust, and I believe it should be subject to investigation and potential litigation. In conclusion, my experience with Best Buy in Beaverton, Oregon, and Apple's MacBook Pro M3 chip has left me disappointed and disillusioned. Both companies need to reevaluate their practices and prioritize the interests and privacy of their customers over profits and gimmicks.

I was always a windows computer owner but decided to purchase a MacBook Pro for my new laptop and I love it! The apple ecosystem is great for multitasking and efficiency.

Having used the MacBook Pro with the M3 chip for a while now, I am thoroughly ….. ok From the get-go, this device has exhibited flawless performance with zero issues. The speed is the most noticeable aspect – it’s fast, making multitasking and handling demanding applications a breeze. The M3 chip clearly brings a significant performance boost, making this MacBook a reliable tool for both professional and personal use.

Just perfect needed something for college and this is doing more than enough it has everything at my fingertips and am able to count on the battery life to last me.

Picked up a used m3 Macbook Pro in excellent condition while traveling though Anchroage Alaska. Speakers sound great, and handles lightroom much better than the M1 chips.
