Gifted it to a computer science graduate, programs that are necessary would cause the computer to get really hot. Too concerning, will be looking for a different computer that can handle the programs

So far I have not been impressed with this computer. I thought it would have been faster than my M2 Pro but this computer is lagging during normal use.

Computer cant handle one large excel file without freezing and being unresponsive for several minutes. I'm hoping it's because the product was used when I purchased as if this is the performance of their M3 pro chip, 18gb memory 14coregpu - 512 ssd, I'm not quite sure I want my next computer being an Apple Macbook Pro...

I use this MacBook nearly one year and one month and after that suddenly it came out with motherboard error. I talked with Apple Store and they said this motherboard needs to be changed. And it cost nearly $800. By the way, I bought this MacBook for $1700. What a shame.

    Open-box fraud

I bought it open-box, excellent condition. As shown in the website it should include all original accessories and packing (or a suitable replacement). None of those were given to me. When asked for it while picking the product, they say that sometimes it doesn't include accessories and packing. I received only the laptop (it was almost like new), without charger. After 1 week trying to get at least a charger I decided to return the product. It was almost impossible. Be aware of this when buying open-box products, what is shown it the website is not always true. Sadly it was a very bad experience for me.

I traded in my Macbook Pro m1 for this m3 that has a bit more RAM so that I could get some money off. They tricked me in thinking I would only have to pay the difference but when i finally brought it in, they gave me a gift card JUST so i could spend more at Best Buy. The price I was shown after applying my trade-in value CLEARLY showed the difference after sending in my device. Now I’m stuck with a gift card that can only be used at Best Buy.

M3 Pro “binned”/base model is not worth the $2000

This model is not worth it at all. I’m a very advanced user and deal with just about every type of personal computer for my job in an PC hardware compatibility lab for a software publisher. I am actually not impressed with any of the Apple Silicone based MacBooks at all. Especially with the newer found security vulnerabilities, but that is really not something that will affect every user. If, you must have/require a Macbook, I would just skip this model. I recommend either you have the nicer screen than the air with added IO and stick to the Base M3 Macbook Pro, or shell out the extra $1000 and go to the MAX. But only go to the M3 MAX if you need a more powerful option. The performance difference between this model and the base M3 is so negligible, the GPU at this level on the M3 Pro is more of marketing gimmick than it is a true “GPU”. Not to mention the entire computer would crash/restart at times when connected to a normal display via HDMI or the USB/Thunderbolt ports. This issue was even worse when HDR is enabled. Which, for me is just about all the time. It also cannot recognize the correct refresh rate for external monitors most of the time. Typically, I am connected to a single 4K display with the lid closed. This is so beyond unacceptable for me at this price point. I get better performance from the iGPU on my 5 year old 9th Gen i9 Linux based PC.

The M3 Pro is a downgrade for the price, and compared to M1 Max. Best wait for a 350 off deal in 2024/25.

Worst shopping experience ever. Due to recent Amazon discount decided to buy the Apple MacBook Pro 14. Got the tracking info within 24hrs and unit shipped via UPS. 2 days later received the alert that package has been delivered, but to my surprise did not find anything as it was signature required. I called UPS and provided the tracking and they confirmed that its been delivered but to a different address as the box was intended to a different person and different address. Seems like Bestbuy cheated me by sending someone else's tracking number. When contacted Bestbuy they will take their sweet time to investigate and then they will only do refund and will not send me replacement so at last I won't be able to get the MacBook for the same sale price. Pathetic CS from BestBuy I will stay away from this store from now on.

Pretty amazing machine. I thought Windows was supreme, but after purchasing a Lenovo and seeing the battery life on that thing (it didn't even have the dedicated GPU on) I decided to buy a Mac. This little thing is one of the most powerful machines I've ever used. Does everything I want and more, the M3 Pro is able to run jGRASP, FL Studio 21 and Photoshop under load all at once without the fan running, and the 18GB of RAM helps a ton. Macs used to be useless for me, because they were underpowered for the price (seriously, a dual-core i5 for a 2018 MacBook Pro was $1499), but now the overpricing is minimal, although the SSD and RAM upgrades are way too expensive. Rarely gets hot (unless you connect it to an external display, but even then it's not really hot, just slightly toasty). Display is the best I've ever seen on a laptop, I genuinely can't see the pixels up close. Speakers have bass which is rare on a laptop, even more on a 14" laptop, trackpad is the perfect size (the 16" is unneccesarily large), and the keyboard is much better than the annoying butterfly ones Apple used to supply (although the travel is a bit small for me, but I am 6'5" so my hands are on the larger end). Battery life is ~13 with moderate loads at 50% brightness, and it's probably much better at lower brightness (but beware, more than 75% that'll cut down to about 8 hours). All in all, this is an amazing product. The compatibility issues noted are not bad at all unless you want to game, in which case you shouldn't even think about a Mac, they are for productivity and creation, not gaming. All in all, this is a great machine, and I think I'm team Apple now. Guess those Mac vs. PC ads were right all along.

I bought mac book pro 14 inch, the first time I got it the screen was slightly tilted towards right i.e the screen and palm-rest were not aligned proper which made it difficult to put cover. I went for replacement and they replaced it without any concerns of what happened, they were like you came for replacement take the replacement, with new one but when I got the new laptop the box of the laptop was rough and was kind of bend. However, the laptop was good. It looked like old from the box so I had to check the serial number with apple to conform it was new.
