I have been a Windows/PC guy my whole life. I struggled to pull the trigger on this purchase because I knew that I could get a Windows machine with the same specs for much less money. But, I’m glad that I stuck with it and purchased the MacBook Pro. The final deciding factor was software, actually. I have been recording music as a hobby for about 5 years. I used Ableton on my PC, which is a great program, but wanted to switch to Logic Pro X. I downloaded the app on day 1 and can honestly say that I am completely satisfied. There is an incredible amount of features and sounds for the price and it’s just easy to use. The laptop is great for everything else that I’ve needed, too. OS X is sleek and responsive and the overall feel of the laptop makes me want to open the lid, even if I’m just checking email. The one complaint that I have is storage space. I knew going into the the purchase that 256 GB is not a lot, these days. But, I didn’t want to pay a few hundred dollars extra for the version with extra capacity. I’ve owned the laptop for a few weeks and I’m already 50% full. So, I will be looking into external hard drives, shortly. Overall, this is a quality laptop and I’m happy that I got it.

It may seem expensive, but the build wuaulity and the exclusive Apple apps such as Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro make it worth the money.

i've had macs for years and years.. just got this one as a replacement.. i think 15" model is too big to be very portable. 13 would be better. also, the touchbar is completely pointless.. as is the GIANT touch pad

I bought to replace my late 2011 mbp. It’s light and fast .

So far so good. I am just learning how to use and apple computer. I find a lot of the functions very easy compared to windows based computer. Learning something new every day. I need to take a class on apple operating system to be more proficient with my new investment.

If you are looking for a personal computer that performs as expected all the time, then you might be looking for the Macbook Pro. Having used Windows, Linux, and MacOS X, when I want a system that is worth the premium price and just works, I turn to my Macbook Pro. The only complaint I have about it is the fact that you end up having to spend a couple hundred dollars more for all of the dongles that let you connect it to anything. For the price that Apple is charging, the Macbook Pro should come with a docking station that includes all of the standard type connectors (USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet, etc.).
