When you inevitably fail to remember this password—because human memory doesn't work like a Swiss bank vault—Apple doesn't verify your identity through any of the dozen obvious methods available to them. What's particularly galling is that NIST—the people who actually write security standards—explicitly recommend against this sort of nonsense. They suggest memorable passphrases, biometric authentication, and multiple recovery methods. You know, sensible things that acknowledge humans are humans, not computers.
