I love the power of the M5 Chip and 48Gig RAM. This is the most amazing laptop/computer I've ever owned. I wish Apple had included a touch-screen on this model. I'm not sure why they don't seem to believe in that feature.

Solid hardware. Battery performance when you actually use the m5 pro chipset for its compute power is maybe an hour, but it doesn’t throttle like the windows laptops so it’s not surprising. I’m sure I can tune to get that to be better. All in all this thing lasts as advertised for common tasks but has the power to run some decent models or games if you want. I managed to get qwen coder next on this with enough room to still game with it loaded into memory. Pretty good local assistant for the price point I’d say. I am an exec in a IT firm and an open source hobbyist. Because of that I’ve spent most of my life and career on windows and Linux. I have had no issues with macOS for common tasks, even esp32 projects that needed uart drivers. It’s surprising, really, how much you can do on macOS now either natively or with wine. So if you are considering the switch because of the quality and efficiency of apple silicone but aren’t sure about being a Mac user I’d say give it a shot.

Finally had to break down and get a new MacBook after 11 years. I am really impressed with it overall, the response of programs and start-up are really quick, the battery life has been amazing. Sound is great from the speakers, While it is a little heavier than my last one I am not gonna consider that an issue at all.

This computer is state-of-the-art. Super-fast with a great display. Handles graphics and video editing with ease -- that why we got it in the first place... other machines just could not keep up with what we were doing with video editing.

I have been hesitating to purchase a new Laptop but was pushed into it. Btw PC or Mac and I chose to stick with old faithful and that she is!!!! Speed, look, operating .... Excellent !!!! Highly Recommend!!!!

I upgraded from an M1 Pro to the M5 Pro MacBook primarily for photo editing — so far it’s been excellent. Performance is the standout: exports, adjustments in Lightroom/Photoshop, and working with large RAW files feel instant. Tasks that used to peg CPU/GPU on the M1 Pro now breeze through without lag. The machine handles complex edits, local previews, and multi-layer compositions with noticeably smoother scrubbing and far shorter export times. M5 Pro is a real beast.

I recently upgraded to the 16-inch MacBook Pro M5 with 1TB of storage, and it’s like trading in a bicycle for a spaceship: The performance is nothing short of stellar. With its 10-core CPU and GPU, multitasking feels more like a magic trick—now you see lag, now you don’t! The display? Wow! I’m convinced it’s brighter than my future! The colors are so vivid that I almost want to decorate my living room with it! It’s perfect for creative work; I catch myself staring at my designs like, “Did I really create that?” The 1TB storage means I can stockpile videos, pictures, and, yes, an embarrassing number of cat memes without worrying. With this kind of space, I could probably host a small film festival right from my laptop! Battery life is impressive too. It lasts longer than my attempts to stay up past 10 PM! Even during intensive work sessions, I find myself still running on power while my coffee has long since run dry. The keyboard feels as smooth as a buttered slide, and the trackpad is so sensitive I could probably use it as a dance floor! Overall, the 16-inch MacBook Pro M5 is more than just a laptop; it’s a powerhouse of creativity, productivity, and a touch of magic. If you’re considering an upgrade, just remember: be prepared for your old laptop to feel envy!

Battery life is excellent as well as speed and power. Will recommend this laptop for super users.

What an incredible machine. The new M5 pro is just incredible and the T 5 ports, don't even get me started. From top to bottom I LOVE this machine. Then to top it off, I saved a few hundred dollars by getting an "open box" unit. It was spotless and in perfect condition. Love it Love it Love it.

Very happy with my purchase. So far, it doesn't appear to be any faster than my M3, particularly with Adobe products or when it comes to ejecting hard drives and sd cards. Looking forward to many years with this powerhouse.

MacBook being an advanced technology Hi Phil, should have cellular compatibility. Other than that, it is an amazing advancement compared to older generations
