Customers express satisfaction with the MacBook Pro 16" Laptop, particularly its phenomenal performance and insane speed. The great battery life and ideal screen size also receive positive feedback. While some find the laptop a bit heavy and notice it can get hot, the primary concern is its price.

Love the MacBook. Started my computer experience with a Macintosh in the late 1980s. Switched to a PC because of work. Have bought several laptops that lasted at the most 3-4 years and just not suited for the graphic work I do. Won’t go back to PCs!

MacBook Pro was Delivered with a Virus

Let me start by saying that I have an Apple I-phone 14 and an Apple MacBook tablet that are very intuitive, and I am pleased with both. I bought the MacBook Pro 16-inch assuming I would have the same experience. Let me list the issues I have had with the MacBook Pro 16-inch.
1. I bought the MacBook Pro through Best Buy. When I brought the MacBook Pro home and performed the initial set-up there were immediate problems. I immediately took the MacBook Pro back to Best Buy. Geek Squad found a virus on the hard drive. I had Geek Squad clear the virus and add Webroot virus protection.
Note: My MacBook Pro was a brand-new computer that had never been opened.
2. I bought Microsoft WORD and EXCEL as a download. There is a constant conflict between Apple's software and MicroSoft WORD. When using WORD the computer continuously has a spinning rainbow globe that prevents me from typing. I am not a fast typist, but I have to stop every minute or two to wait for the globe to stop spinning.
Note: I checked with another MacBook Pro owner, and they are having the same experience.
3. I tried and failed to get Microsoft Outlook and my Calendar to sync on the MacBook Pro. I took the MacBook Pro back to Best Buy's Geek Squad a second time and they were unable to get Outlook to run. I did not have email service for three weeks on the MacBook Pro. Then one day I got a message from MicroSoft and a link to set up Outlook and Calendar. I was able to establish Outlook email but it took three weeks.
4. The keyboard for MacBook Pro has one key labeled "DELETE" that acts like a backspace key. Every other laptop I have used has a "DELETE' and "BACKSPACE' key. When you are doing a lot of writing, having both keys are a real benefit.
Note to APPLE: Find a place on the keyboard for DELETE and BACKSPACE keys.
Note: I checked with other Apple MacBook Pro owners I know, and they share the same frustration.
5. I have an external hard drive that I use to back-up files. The MacBook Pro refuses to recognize the external hard drive. I need to unplug and replug in the external hard drive every day before the MacBook Pro will connect.
After 2 months of struggling I realized that I made a mistake with this MacBook Pro purchase. I bought a Lenovo Yoga 7 laptop that was approximately $2000 less cost than the MacBook Pro. I have been using the Lenovo for about 5 weeks and I am very happy.
I packed up the MacBook Pro in its original box and it now sits at the bottom of my closet, unused. What a waste of money.
Perhaps if you are only using Apple software, the MacBook Pro works intuitively. My experience with using the MacBook Pro with MicroSoft software is that the MacBook Pro is "Clunky".
I would NOT recommend the MacBook Pro to a friend or family member.

Best Macbook Ever!

As someone who’s been using Apple laptops for years, the new MacBook M3 Max is nothing short of a game-changer. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and here’s why I think it’s the best MacBook I’ve ever owned:
Design & Build Quality (5/5)
The M3 Max continues the trend of Apple’s ultra-premium, sleek design. The unibody aluminum chassis is lightweight yet robust, and the screen is just gorgeous. The Liquid Retina XDR display is vivid, with true blacks and excellent color accuracy, which makes working on graphics-heavy tasks, video editing, or simply watching HDR content a treat. It’s also bright enough to handle daylight glare, which is something I truly appreciate when working outdoors or near windows.
Performance (5/5)
This is where the M3 Max truly shines. The M3 Max chip is an absolute powerhouse. Whether you’re into heavy-duty video editing, 3D rendering, or software development, the performance is seamless. In my testing, I ran multiple virtual machines, edited 4K video, and ran code compilation tasks all simultaneously without any noticeable lag or slowdown. The 16-core GPU delivers incredible graphical performance—games, video editing, and even AI tasks just fly by. The thermal management is also impressive; it stays cool and quiet even under heavy load.
The unified memory architecture with up to 128GB of RAM means I never have to worry about memory bottlenecks. The storage is fast, with SSD speeds that make opening large files, booting up apps, or loading up games incredibly snappy.
Battery Life (5/5)
Apple’s battery optimization is as good as ever. I’ve been getting consistently 10-12 hours of use on a full charge, even when I’m pushing the MacBook with resource-heavy tasks. This is particularly impressive considering the raw power under the hood. It easily lasts through a full workday of heavy use without needing a charge.
Keyboard, Trackpad, and Ports (5/5)
The Magic Keyboard is excellent—responsive, quiet, and comfortable to type on for long periods. The trackpad is spacious and precise, making navigation effortless. One of the biggest improvements this year is the return of more ports. With three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, and a MagSafe charging port, Apple has made it much more versatile for professional workflows. The inclusion of the HDMI 2.1 port is a nice touch, especially for connecting to high-res external monitors or TVs.
Software and Ecosystem (5/5)
As always, macOS shines with its smooth and intuitive interface. With macOS Sonoma, the integration of hardware and software feels more seamless than ever. The performance optimizations on M3 Max make apps run faster and more efficiently. Features like Stage Manager and Continuity work flawlessly, allowing me to switch between my iPhone and iPad or my MacBook effortlessly.
Price (4/5)
Let’s be honest—this MacBook is expensive, but you’re paying for high-end performance and build quality. While it may be out of reach for some, if you're a professional or creator who needs raw power and efficiency, the M3 Max is absolutely worth the investment.
Conclusion
In short, the MacBook M3 Max is a triumph of engineering. Apple has once again raised the bar for laptops, offering unmatched performance, build quality, and battery life. Whether you’re a professional creator, developer, or power user, this laptop is a dream come true. If you need a machine that can handle anything you throw at it, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!

This machine is a beast! I am running Parallels on it with Windows and Ubuntu, along with citrix desktops for multiple engagements and it is handling all of that multi-tasking with ease. I get no hang ups, no spinning wheels, no frustration or stress waiting on programs to load or apps to work. The size is great for me because I work from home. A smaller screen just wouldn't cut it. Given what you're getting in speed, strength, versatility, and style, I think it is worth the price. Just make sure you're going to need this much horsepower. I would recommend this MBP but others could get by with lower RAM or storage. I get things are cloud based but having content locally really helps with performance on some applications. It is sleek, modern, and isn't too heavy at all. With a case on it the bulk is slightly, ever so slightly larger and the weight does get noticeably heavier. But, how often are you carrying this thing around. It is just fine in my opinion. It is future proof, it handles everything I throw at it, and it does it with ease. If you're in IT or design or anything with demanding needs for multi-tasking or rendering files, I would look no further. And, most of all...I paid for this on my own. I didn't get paid to purchase the device. Those are my thoughts...I hope they help you on your next purchase.

The MacBook Pro M3 strikes an impressive balance between performance and value. While it doesn’t boast the raw power of the M4, its speed is more than sufficient for most professional workflows—especially in design, development, and content creation. It handles multitasking smoothly, launches apps instantly, and exports files quickly, all without the steep price tag of the M4 model.
One of the most noticeable improvements is thermal performance. Unlike earlier MacBook Pros that were prone to overheating under sustained loads, the M3 runs cool and quiet—even during heavier tasks. For users who want reliable power, excellent battery life, and a cooler machine without paying top dollar for the M4, the M3 is a smart, capable choice.

I purchased this 16" MacBook Pro M3 Max for photo and video editing. It replaced my aging mid-2015 15" MacBook Pro which was having a difficult time with 4K video editing and using AI noise reduction tools. I have to say, the improvement in performance is nearly indescribable!
For a photo editing example. I sometimes run Lightroom Classic's new AI de-noise tool to clear up images that are just too noisy for my liking (low light/high ISO). For a single image, it took around 10 minutes on the old MBP with the cooling fan running on high. It also delayed any interaction with the mouse or keyboard by nearly a minute rendering the MBP unusable until the image processing was completed. This new M3 Max does the same job in 20 seconds and there's no discernible latency in doing other tasks. I can even process multiple images concurrently!
On the video side I use DaVinci Resolve for editing. On the old MBP I could not play video smoothly in the editing window. This led me to often render videos so I could watch in Quicktime then go back and re-edit, if needed. The rendering time for 4K videos was very long. Even a 30 second video could take 15 minutes. The new M3 Max lets me work in the editing window like I should be able to do and renders a 30 second 4K video in just a few seconds.
I have yet to hear the fan on this new M3 Max and I have loaded it down orders of magnitude higher than I could the old mid-2015 Intel MBP. The physical size is nearly the same as the 15" MBP as the 16" MBP screen just has less of a black framing around the active area. It's very clear and the battery lasts a very long time making it very portable even while doing intensive tasks.
I can highly recommend the 16" MacBook Pro M3 Max. It's a beast of a machine and it looks great, too, in Space Black.

Super fast, plenty of ram and storage and hasn’t skipped a beat with everything I’ve thrown at it with photo and video editing. Not a hint of slowing or stuttering- everything has been buttery smooth. Big beautiful screen and the battery lasts all day. No complaints at this time. Its been a great upgrade over my base M1 MacBook Pro.

While I’ve had an iPhone ever since the iPhone2 and 3 iPads over the years, this is my first Mac Book since 2008. Glad I went top of the line as this will probably be the last laptop I ever buy. The 16” is thin and the display is awesome, especially with my aging eyesight. Blazing fast speed with all of my workplace apps, including Office 365, Adobe, and CRM database I use regularly. Battery lasts forever and charges up very quickly.

This is an excellent upgrade from what I was using - 2015 intel MacBook Pro. Like all Macs, the price is steep, but if you're running an older Macbook, you probably already know that the IOS and software won't update anymore (at least that's what I was running into.) I use audio (Logic Pro) and lighting (Lightkey) software for music bands and venues. The older Mac was really struggling to keep up and was running really hot. If you are seriously looking into purchasing a new Macbook - one piece of advice I can offer is don't settle on tiny storage space. I got the 1Tb SSD, and that should be a a minimum starting point. Yes, the price for more storage is borderline criminal, but the drive cannot be upgraded later. (the RAM is same way of course). I put the laptop through it paces by running my usually barrage of software all at once like I did with my older laptop, and this one handles it with ease. I also needed the larger size screen for the real estate - excellent video/picture quality...So overall, I'm really enjoying this laptop!

This was a perfect time to upgrade from my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro that had gave me problems as of late while editing. No more having to deal with a hot laptop while on Photoshop/Lightroom or video editing software crashing (Had to use my iPhone on that one). The new M3 Max chip can handle it all, plus a better display and excellent battery life for hours of work on a single charge.
Of course the only downside is the price, but if you are an editor and is coming from an older model, it's totally worth the purchase.

Luxury Laptop but Actually Works Great

The design gives the laptop a really premium feel. The all aluminum chassis feels very solid and the space black has a nice look and uniform across the whole device, including the charge cable (unfortunately, not the charging brick). The screen does carry the "notch" but to be honest you don't really notice it unless you're looking for it.
The laptop itself is very powerful, and what sets it apart, is it's very powerful on battery. There's a lot of native apps out there now so you get the full gains running natively on the M3 silicone. There's also a ton of apps that run great with rosetta translation error which allows 64x apps to run on ARM. If all of this is greek to you, that's okay, just know that Macs applications are getting better and will continue to get better as developers improve apps.
As far as tending to the senses, the screen is beautiful, the sound is 2nd to none, and I love typing on the keyboard. I find that I type very quickly and accurately on the keyboard. The screen is bright, offers great HDR content, and while I would love to see an OLED screen, I can't complain at the quality of what Apple has delivered. It's hard to pick up how well the speakers sound watching videos, you really have to hear it to appreciate it, but they're fantastic.
My daily usage revolves around taking Teams calls and checking emails. I plug in overnight, take out at work, and use it most of the day for calls, chats, checking emails, and replying to messages. When I get home, I'm usually around 60-70% battery, depending on how heavily I've used it. I then catch up on the news, watch some YouTube, and do online browsing or shopping if needed. I've not yet felt like I've needed to plug it in, just something I do before going to bed so I know I'm charged up for another fresh day. It's a bit freeing knowing I don't have to show up to the office and find an outlet. I do occasionally edit videos. They don't have a ton of effects or transitions and are usually pretty short. I'm hoping to get to a point where I'm doing more and can better utilize the true potential of this laptop.
If I had a negative, it's that MacOS isn't always as intuitive as Apple would have you to believe from all the commercials. There's a heavy reliance on keyboard shortcuts. I wouldn't mind this so much, but the key combinations are not intuitive for where your fingers naturally rest on the keyboard. There's also certain customizations that you cannot do that just doesn't make sense. Apparently in the mail app, swiping right to move to an Archive box just isn't possible. The only reason I can think for doing this is they just don't want to. What I can appreciate however, is how easily it is to search for almost anything on the computer using spotlight, and certain UI choices like stage manager which allows for a more organized way to switch apps. I'm also a huge fan of Apple pushing USB C as the new hotness and I'm disappointed in the rest of the industry for not following. I did struggle to get multiple displays working through my thunderbolt 4 dock, but this could be either the dock isn't compatible with Mac or I need a deeper understanding of how to set it up properly Best I could do was duplicate.
In conclusion, I really feel like I'm using the top of the line when it comes to laptops. Strong integration with other apple products helps with productivity and keeping focus but will likely be a point of frustration for those without iPhone. Also know that you're paying for what I call a bit of a designer product that also happens to work great and appeal to the senses.
