Purchased this product for $899 during Cyber Monday for my brother. He loves it. It's fast, clean design, hooked up easy to wifi! Ready to go right out of the box.

This computer is very slime. Its also very durible and the battery life is long. Its extremely fast and an amazing display. This computer is great for buissness people, students or musicians. You can do everything o. This laptop and thatw why I love it so much. One thing I hate is that you have to do a separate purchase for pages or any Microsoft office but other then that its a great comp uter and I'd strongly recomend it.

This is my first Mac, and I love it! Customer service was superb. All my questions about a PC vs Mac were answered completely which allowed me to make a very informed choice in purchasing. The Mac is extremely fast, easy to use, and reliable. I will never go back to a PC.

This is the perfect Macbook computer for personal/school use. It's small, easy to use, and has a CD drive (the air models do not). Very happy with my purchase!

We already have a macbook pro so we bought this for our high schooler. He loves it- it's fast, reliable, don't have to worry about overheating, syncs with phone etc.

I bought this laptop for college and it is perfect! If you're going to use the laptop for editing and etc.. Then i recommend getting the higher specs mac book.

My first choice was to get the MacBook with Retina display but I wasn't willing to pay 200$+ to get a MacBook with a better screen while sacrificing the CD Rom drive and less gigs. I went with this because of the price and the great reviews. Thus far I am extremely happy I went with this one. The resolution isn't great but it isn't bad either. I am going to upgrade the ram on it soon... Luckily I can still do that with this MacBook and not the newer ones. Love my Mac!

This was a gift for my wife, a lifelong Windows user who was limping along on a 5 year old Toshiba laptop that was on its last legs. You are definitely paying a premium for an Apple product, as there are numerous laptops you can buy with a stronger engine and more horsepower, and without getting nailed with a cost premium for minor upgrades to RAM or disk space, but...it's an Apple and Apples are the new diamonds (at least my wife thinks so...). Admittedly, as a Windows OS user and from a person that builds his own computer rigs with attention to price/power metrics, I was hesitant to drop this much for a mediocre rig, but bringing her the Apple world was worth every dime, and I am constantly asking to explore it as a new world for me, from an Operating System perspective. The machine is sleek, very well built in typical Apple fashion, and will probably outlast many of my machines. The interface is great, once you get used to it, and the Apple iOS truly does simplify a lot of the steps to get from power on to whatever you want to do. My wife is already playing with the music/video editing suites, has favorites pinned all over the place, and is exploring the machine more now for its potential than she ever did on her old Windows Vista machine. You will spend a premium dollar, but if you want something other than the Microsoft driven computer universe, it is a great new world waiting to be explored. it even has this guy wondering about a Mac desktop a few years from now.....

This is the second one I have bought. It has worked perfectly. No problems. The laptop is fast and dependable.

I purchased this computer then decided I wanted a bigger screen so I took it back and got the 15" screen, love it with i7 processer and solid state hard drive

Switching from an 8 yr old laptop (Windows XP Pro) and I figured I should make the switch since Windows 8 would also mean learning a new O/S... Took advantage of a 2 day sale to get this model under $1000 and am now getting to be bilingual (Windows and Mac OS-X) I found good substitutes for my office SW and operations specific duties on the app store for a great price (max $20) and was able to get Office 2011 at reasonable price. Visio is the only thing missing... and the alternatives on the app store are either not 100% compatible or are over-priced. I am a windows 'shortcut key' master so I like that I can mimic many of the one's I used ALLOT of in windows on the mac. I'm still getting used to some keyboard key placements (like control / option etc...) but it'll come in time. I see the mouse as the slow path to take to get things done. Overall the system boots quickly, the screen is a huge upgrade from my old laptop and the battery life has been as advertised. Love the illuminated keyboard as it helps while learning the placement of things late at night. Hope for several years of productivity from this macbook.

I've been a dedicated PC user for years, and I've heard all the negatives about Apple products, enough that it kept me from even looking at them over the years, though the initial price tag is enough to scare some people away. The hassle I had with Windows 8 was the final straw. I needed something better, something more efficient. I waffled between which Macbook to get, either the Air or the Pro, and I debated on whether or not to get it used. After tons of reading on the matter, I decided to go with a new Pro. From the moment I opened it, set it up (which was a breeze, considering how tech-ignorant I am), I loved it. Since I already had an iPod, I already had an Apple ID (if you don't have one, you will need to create one when you get your mac or any apple product), and it linked automatically to all my other content, and immediately updated itself. The setup was easy, efficient, and didn't require me to jump through a bunch of hoops to get me connected to my other data. The laptop itself has a backlit keyboard that makes writing in the dark or low lit areas so much easier. There is almost no noise when I type, and I type pretty darn fast. The screen is glossy, clear and gives great detail. The machine itself is sturdy without being awkward or cumbersome. And the OS? Responsive and orderly, though if you are new to Mac as I am, there is a small but manageable learning curve. Whether I'm writing papers or my next novel, I am happy with Pages, though I do have the MS Office suite installed. Overall this laptop is way more than I need, and gives me exactly what I want-uncomplicated access to the programs that matter and an OS that doesn't make me hate it. In this Mac I have something that will likely stay with me for years, and I don't see myself regretting it.

I am so loving my Mac book pro! It has been a smooth transition from a desktop to laptop. I love the ease of moving around between programs and the speed.

Third MacBook purchase for college students in my family. It has great portability and many features that allow for fast research and data processing. Screen is perfect size for student needs academically and for entertainment. My youngest is in high school and was just issued the MacBook Air. No doubt, MacBook is the way to go for students who are serious about learning in today's high tech world!

I need a larger screen but hated the weight of !5-17" computers. This one is perfect blend. I now know why I see some many students using Mac computers. I am still learning how to do some things after using a regular PC for so many years. The more I learn the more I love this computer. We are now a two Mac household. The only draw back is that some of my favorite games are not Mac compatible. I love not having to renew internet security systems every year.

I am pleased with this laptop. It is small and lightweight yet durable. It does all that my desktop does and much smaller. So it is exactly what I needed.
