I have a 2008 Macbook Pro that I love but it's getting older and I needed a 2nd/backup. I debated getting one of the newfangled retina ones but I decided to get this for a few reasons (hello, Black Friday deal!) not the least of which was that it has upgradable parts, unlike the new ones. Out of the box it's great, even better now that I upgraded the RAM and swapped the hard drive for a SSD (and made this excellent hard drive an external drive). I was worried I wouldn't love it as much as I could love a '15, but I can't imagine being happier with it.

I really love the weight!!! It's very light and that makes it easier to transport!!! I also love how fast it is!!! Amazing!!! Gotta love Apple!!!

I've always bought Microsoft computers. Even with Antivirus, spyware, etc. they always crashed. I love this Mac. No crashes still over a month later!

I love this computer!! I got this so that I could have the convenience of my desktop wherever I need to be in my house. I chose this computer in specific, because I wanted a Mac that would operate the same as my IMac. I'm a busy homeschooling mom, so this has just opened up new windows of opportunity for me. I can check my email, do internet research, etc, while working with my kiddos in our dining room. I can turn on the occasional Netfilx movie to keep the little ones entertained, and my kids can do endless school projects on here, as well as online classes and software based classes. I love its sleek design, and the screen size is perfectly adequate. I am impressed with how easy the mouse is to operate and love the touch option instead of having to press it down for everything. I also really like the MAG adaptor. It charges the computer quicker than I thought it would, and I love that I can use the computer plugged in and it charges the battery while I'm working. The only con I can think of at the moment is that the sound quality from the speakers is nothing like that of my desktop. Perhaps that's typical of laptops? I'm guessing it is, because the rest of this computer is awesome and I would figure that if awesome laptop speakers came standard on laptops, this computer would have them. :) If all goes well, we will be purchasing another one of these to give us even more flexibility with homeschool.

Links with all my apple devices - light weight makes it easy to transport great size for use on planes as well as desks. Should have got it sooner!

This was a perfect first Mac for my daughter and perfect technology for her start up nutrition consulting business. It was an easy, out of the box, set up and she was working with it fluently within the first forty eight hours. And the daily deals were a huge factor in my purchase. The Best Buy reps at the store were helpful also. I purchased one day and the next day it was offered for $100 less. You honored the discount. Great job!

I use it for my school assignments and projects, it stays charged for almost all day and is light to carry around. I am glad I made this purchase.

I love Apple computers and I have finally learned my lesson. You get what you pay for! I'm done with Window based products. I bought this for my wife and she uses it for everything! This one has dvd player which makes it a little heavier, but my wife doesn't mind. One last thought about Macs is I have an 8 yr old iMac and my daughter has a 7 yr old macbook and both are faster at surfing the net than my year old Toshiba laptop!

This is a great computer overall. I recently purchased this laptop for my office at home, I usually use it to surf the web and write documents on microsoft word. So I bought this computer at first then I return it to get the new model that just came out with Retina display, HUGE mistake after using the new model with Retina display for about 5 minutes my eyes started to strain really bad that I could not keep using the computer anymore I return it the next day to get this model again. Now, I truly appreciate this laptop. This laptop has a CD rom which is extremely useful, it has 500GB storage, and it's pretty fast. This was my first Apple computer and I truly enjoy using it. I like how it's simple and easy to use overall.

I like this computer because it is very nice, and has all the things I need - a big enough HD, a DVD burner, and its got upgradeable memory. Other macs don't have either a DVD or memory upgrades (they have memory soldered on the main board). "Cloud" storage is overblown.

This is so much better than the Macbook Pro that didn't have the disc drive. The weight difference isn't even noticeable after the first time carrying it! The online tutorial(s) are a must see and do! TheBest Buy store in Port Richey FL had the best techs to help and explain EVERYTHING this laptop has.

Love this computer...it is lighter than the original yet still sturdy. Powered perfectly, does everything that I need it to do and more.

I love this laptop. The battery life last for a long time. It is not heavy to take to class. It has a CD rom; the newer version don't.

This is my first Apple...everyone else in the family has one and said it was time for me to upgrade. It is a great computer and the speed, compared to my previous laptop, is amazing. I also love the lighted keyboard as my other didn't have it and I would have to turn on lights at night to use the laptop. Got a great deal at Best Buy before Christmas as well! I was going before several different computers (Air or MacBook Pro) and the salesman was very knowledgeable and helped me decide on this one....happy I did!
