When first looking at laptops I was torn between a MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. After weighing out the pros and cons, I decided to go the pro route. I couldn't be more happy with my decision! I have been able to figure the operating system fairly easy, the battery lasts all day when I'm using it, sound quality is nice, and overall a wonderful laptop for anyone in school.

Easy to use and quick to learn how to operate. Works without any flaws

Purchased this after having a good experience with my previous MBPro. This model is nearly identical, and I have no problem recommending this "base" model, even without the retina display. This computer is a workhorse, and should last for many years. It also was shipped and received in a timely manner...about a week...even as the busy holiday season was beginning.

This laptop is great for spaces which require a lightweight and portable Mac. Still has the SuperDrive, for those who want to use the optical drive for CD's/DVD's. Devoted fan of Mac, this laptop is a good investment. Would recommend going up to 8G for RAM if you use a lot of software programs.

This mac is great for students. I bought one for my sophmore daughter and she loved it. It has bigger storage than most of the other mac and is the perfect size for her. It not as thick as the other ones so it wont break or get bent easily.

If you need or want a 13" or 15" laptop then why settle for another brand when you will eventually circle back around to Apple. Yes Apple seems more expensive but when you really compare what you are getting to other products you will realize that it's not really any more expensive. I bought the 13" non retina MacBook Pro because I wanted the option of upgrading the ram and harddrive which I have already done both. I chose not to buy the Apple a year ago and instead bought another laptop and yes a year later I circled back to the MacBook that I should have just put the money into the first time. The MacBook is by far the most aesthetically pleasing and well constructed laptop out there so just buy the Mac the first time and be done with it. This review coming from a very satisfied MacBook owner.

The Macbook Pro is a terrific laptop.As an Apple user, when an opportunity to acquire an Apple product at a Black Friday price..one has to act fast. This computer does almost every job you can imagine.. it even sports a DVD recorder/player...along with a 500 GB hard drive. Uses an older Intel chip but the speed is more than adequate even for streaming videos.

I have always been a Windows guy, but after having too many issues this year with Creative Suite's font library not matching up with my school's Mac fonts, I decided that the easiest way to work on projects is to get a Mac. I immediately replaced the HDD with and SSD as well as putting in 16GB of RAM, and this thing FLIES. From a cold start, it takes at most 15 seconds to get me to my desktop, and all of my design software opens incredibly fast. This might be an older machine, but with a couple of easy upgrades, I could see myself using this for years down the road (along with the great build quality, of course).

It is very light and the perfect size for college. I take it everywhere.

Like everything Apple makes, its a flawless product that performs as good as it looks. Price its not cheap but you get what you pay for literally. Ive had many many pc's before and theres very good ones but not as close as the performance and the support a Macbook has. Great investment!

Been nursing a 5 yr old Dell Laptop with windows 7 pro , I refused wasting any money upgrading to a windows 8 or beyond computer & figured on using the old dell till it died . Then Christmas morn Santa brought me a Macbook Pro , Night & Day difference . Good Luck Billy Gates with Windows 10 .

This is my second Mac and they are worth every penny! I wouldn't invest in any other computer. Easy to use, fast, efficient, durable and long lasting.

There are quite a few competitors out there in the marketplace right now for Macbook Pros (Lenovo Yoga, Surface 2 and 3, etc) but I bought this over the others because I wanted a computer that would work and last. I previously had a Macbook pro that I bought in 2008- that version lasted until now when I bought my new Macbook Pro. Phenomenal, very powerful computers.

Although it is the older version of an Apple Computer, it works great. Definitely worth the money. Even though open-box, it was proven to work properly and efficiently. Links up perfectly with my phone and it is great for school!
