Love the mac book pro, would recommend it to anyone. It is light in weight. It is very quick. The battery life is longer. I use it everyday for email, games, and Facebook. You don't worry about getting a virus.

light, battery is great. display is perfect. perfect for school. easy to use for all my art projects and written reports. my first Mac lasted 5 years with no upgrade. excited to see how long this one lasts!!!!

My son is a junior is high school and would be needing a computer for college and thought this would be a good time to buy. He has been using it over break for school work as well as gaming and has not had a complaint. We bought same computer for our daughter 4 years ago and it is still going strong.

Overall, this is what you'd expect from an Apple laptop: smooth, clean design, nice bright screen, easy-to-use operating system. So those all meet my expectations for a secondary computer for my home business (basically, I'll use this for writing and presenting on the road). Where the laptop stumbles (stalls) quite a bit is in running Yosemite, the newest OS. 4GB of memory seems like it's baseline for running it through its paces. So I'll be adding another 4GB to this for a smoother experience. Right now, as it is, this laptop takes as long to boot up and log in to basic services as my 3-year-old Air. Plan ahead and get some extra memory and you should be good. This is also important if you will be doing any work in Photoshop or Illustrator. You can do it...but trust me, you're going to want a lot more memory to not make every project an exercise in trying your patience. Again, not a big deal to add more memory, just know going in that if you're using this for more than presentations, browsing and writing, get more memory (and really, you should probably go with the retina model then anyway if you're doing graphics work). Also, there's the weight. A friend of mine has the 15-inch retina MBP from last year, and that comes in lighter than this puppy. If you're going to be lugging this around a lot, maybe spend a little more and go lighter. All in all, this is a solid laptop if it won't be your primary. It was a deal for me as I got it during Black Friday. If I didn't need a new one right then, I would have probably held out and spent more money to get the retina.

I needed something fast and I preferred a CD reader built-in. It's not the super slim version but I like its weight better. Very easy to use and fits in medium sized laptop accessories.

Apple product is much cheaper if you buy it here in Bestbuy, especially during Black Friday. I bought this online and the price is the same as when you buy it iin store. I dont't have to hurdle with a lot of buyers just to purchase this one.

the first thought that went through my head was this is to expensive. After the wife talked me into buying it, i am glad i made the choice. This computer does everything and is great for a college student.

We use these MacBook Pros mostly because of their quality hardware components. We install various boot environments such as Mac and Windows which function flawless. This is the last version of the MacBook Pro that you can upgrade yourself; we install 16GB of ram and 1TB s solid state drives -- fantastic!

MacBook Pro is always a top of the line lap-top. This particular laptop does not have the retina display feature, but I have a separate MacBook Pro with the Retina display and you cannot notice a difference. The I5 processor is fast, seems to run just a fraction slower than my other MacBook with the I7 processor. This was a gift for my mother who was switching from a Dell. MacBooks have a great tutorial on how to operate it. I installed MS-Office on her new MacBook & there has been no complaints nor compatibility issues.

This Laptop is perfect for traveling and very simple to comprehend. I would also like to recommend this Laptop to first time buyers. It's been a thrill ride with this bad boy, get yourself one immidiately after reading my post. You won't regret the best decision you've made in you're life. ;)

I have always had a PC due to cost but I have been through about 1 laptop a year or so for the last 10 years, I am blown away with my new Mac! No error messages no unexpected crashes or frozen pages/screens. They do cost more but I have found that many times - You get what you pay for!! Impressed!!

We bought this for son and he uses it everyday for both fun and schoolwork. It is fast and easy to use, so he loves it. For its size it isn't too heavy but is more durable than the MacBook Air. Might buy another one we love it so musc.

I literally do not have anything bad to say. Been a PC user my whole life, knew how to work Mac's but always a little scared to make the leap. Let me tell ya, make it. Just being able to go between programs and have everything integrated right there on your computer is incredible. Battery life: I take it to work with me and lasts all day if you use it for little things. You have no idea how fast something can be until you just use this laptop for one week. Get it already.

My husband is a college student. He has been begging for a MacBook Pro for the last several years. We finally found one for a good price at Best Buy on Black Friday. He said he will likely have to buy extra memory, as it is a little low, but overall he is very pleased to have this computer.

This computer is user friendly. It is fast with i5. I would recommended this product.

So you can see this is my first review ever and you're probably thinking "well this AIRSHIP person is just going to say whatever, he just wants those Best Buy points" and I'm not going to lie, that is why I'm here. Honestly I wouldn't normally be reviewing something I've bought but regardless of the points I am throughly impressed with this product. Let's just start out by saying this laptop genuinely surprised me. I've owned the Apple MacBook Pro for about 2 months now and I was always told how convenient Apple computers were but I never expected to be so captivated by a laptop. I've used this laptop to make movies, music, art, video games run surprisingly good, watching videos or movies or really anything in general has became increasingly satisfying due to the amazing next generation graphics. Navigating and using the commands wasn't difficult to get use to at all and I'm new to the MacBook community so I feel like I'm barely touching the surface of what this computer has to offer. So I guess to sum up my first review EVER! I would have to say this is an amazing computer and would be your Best Buy in my opinion. - AIRSHIP

I bought this for my wife to assist her in homeschooling our children. Being previous Apple users we were able to navigate it without any problems and we are very pleased with the speed in which it operates. The MacBook Pro is worth every penny we spent on it and glad we made the purchase.

Got this to use for college classes and I love it! Great battery life and easy to carry!

I have purchased PCs before and not one of them has withstood time like my MacBook Pro. The battery life is amazing while going from class to class. The start up speed is great! And I have plenty of room to keep papers and assignments without overusing memory and slowing down the computer.

I'm very impressed with this laptop. It's much quicker and smoother than my previous Windows computers (which I also liked). It did take a little while to learn the ropes with a Mac, but I'm getting a hang of it. The CD drive is nice to have on this one considering how much I use it for music.
