You really can't go wrong with apple. I was lucky to get a great price for an old model. Watch out when purchasing open box items I went for one before purchasing a new macbook and even though it was marked as no damage it was in a really bad shape... tons of scratches, chipped on top of screen on edges... like bad bad.

I'm a painter who uses photo references for my work. I take my own shots and rework them in photoshop. I also use my Mac to manage all the digital images of my work, maintain my web site, and to rework all my family photographs.

My father has an Apple and I started out with a non-Apple product my first year of college. I had way too many issues with it and since my dad has never had a problem with his laptop, I decided to also join the Apple family.

We bought a Macbook because its configuration and pricing were simple. By comparison, we looked at Windows PCs at Costco, Best Buy, PC Richards, and Walmart. Very, very confusing. DELL, HP, ACER, the list goes on and on. Different weights, screen sizes, memory, hard drive, processors, and pretty soon you need a spreadsheet to analyze which one to buy. Ultimately, what broke the camel's back was that the Windows8 mouse didn't support a key combination that was essential to a piece of software we use. We just walked in to Best Buy, took the entry level Mac, and were up and running in 15 minutes.

Runs at such a great speed in comparison to my sony vaio.

I have been working on Macs for years. I bought this laptop to enable me to work from home. Works wonderfully. The only down side is that I had to uninstall a number of programs and redownload as they had already been registered to the previous user. You just would think this would have been taken care of before it had been restocked.

All in all I like this product, and will continue to use it. Its simple and easy to use, Apple has outstanding help line, graphics are clear and sound is great.
