The purchase was made for my daughter who is starting college this year. It's a little heavier than the macbook air, but overall, we're happy with the MacBook Pro. Personally, with my eyesight not like it was 10 years ago, I would want the Retina display b/c the display is so much crisper. But for the price difference this laptop is solid.

I bought the MacBook pro for my daughter for a Christmas present. We choose this because the newer ones don't come with the cd drive. It was a good price and has turned out to be a great computer.

This is my second macbook. I was tempted by retina display. But internal dvd drive is more important because I watch DVDs and I can upgrade to SSD which costs less. So non retina is perfect for me.

keyboard is a little small. Hard to make the transition from a PC to MAC. not enough function keys.

Purchased item for student for more security against computer viruses since attack on last computer. I am a windows person so I had no idea what to expect. The set up was pretty easy and my child seems to love it since it links everything between the iPhone and the MacBook. I'm hoping this will last quite a while for the price. I am satisfied with this purchase.

This is my 8th Apple product, and Apple delivers once again. Everything you expect from a laptop and so much more. Highly recommend. If weight is an issue, try the Air. Pro may be a bid heavy for some.

I'm a dedicated apple user and my boyfriend love doesn't this mac for the year it worked. The hard drive suddenly went bad 1 year and 1 month after I bought it. $250 to replace. This isn't my third MacBook purchase so it was a surprise this had an issue only a year later.

Hesitated in getting a Mac because of the price, but had so many issues with other computers in the past that I decided to splurge. I am glad that I did.

I bought this for my daughter. We both have gone thru at least 4 laptop in the past 5 years. I bought this on line in Black Friday. Very happy I did so. I am pleased with the lighted keyboard for her.

Apple by far has the best software and has the most functional computer out right now! I bought the MacBook Pro and I have zero regrets! The computer is well worth the money, you won't be disappointed!!!

I am still learning to use the computer but I have had a Dell and an HP and the apple computer I find is the best. I plan on getting another one soon and am thinking of getting an ipad for travel

This is our 2nd purchase of this same mode. The first one is at least 5 years olds and still functions like a new one. Love this product.

My overall experience purchasing my Macbook Pro, to taking it home and setting it up was nothing short of easy. So pleased with Bestbuy and my purchase. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Excellent mac book pro computer w 500 gig hard drive. You can max your memory out. The hard drive can be upgraded to 1TB. Comes with a DVD/CD drive which is a thing of the past in the newer mac .

This is a great computer, there was a factory recall on the battery however which was annoying. It was replaced with a brand new one which works great!

Completely different experience from a windows user. Seems harder to navigate and everything is smaller. I get frustrated a few times from not knowing where to go and what to do next even on a simple task. I have to invest a lot of time to learn it. On the positive side. it feels like a solid machine, and well constructed. I will stick to it and get use to OS X.

First let me say I am a PC well until my teens went apple and little by little, the iPod, the iPhone the iPad my PC home was taken over. When it came time to replace my laptop I opted for apple to keep up the communication with the other items. OMG why did I not own an apple before!? It is lightweight, sleek, FAST intuitive easy to operate right out of the box. No hesitation to recommend

I'm very disappointed. Something between the Apple operating system and the Office for Mac suite isn't working well at all. Twenty seconds to open a basic Word file and release the computer and cursor. Wake the Mac out of basic sleep mode and it will often take 30 to 40 seconds come up again and unfreeze the cursor, and sometimes the whole machine will not work for minutes. I installed my files, the Apple OS and my existing applications for my older version of this machine according to the instruction that I got from Apple Support on the phone. I have been on the phone with them and Microsoft several times over the last month to get this new Mac to work properly. I'm losing the will to live on this. I regret buying it and the Office for Mac suite.
