Customers are saying

Customers recognize the MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, and battery life as significant strengths, with many praising its lightweight design and favorable price point. However, some users express concerns regarding the hard drive's limitations and the amount of RAM. A few also mention challenges with heat generation and operating system compatibility. Overall, the positive feedback on usability and performance outweighs the negative comments on specific components.

This is a great tv. We only had one television and this will make it a lot more convenient for us. The service at your store is great. There is always someone there to help with all your needs. The picture is very good. I would recommend your store to my friends.

It is totally worth it's money, I bought this device and I have really no issues, one iCloud issue but that was fixed without any cost, i really like the built quality and the laptop specs, a power punching core i5 and glossay LCD display that is super close to Retina display and looks really good, almost as light as a MacBook Air and is easy and fun to use and easy on the easy if you are a student typing up something late at night or you are a busniess person working on an airplane and I have used laptops by Dell and Toshiba and all those guy's aren't worth there buck but this computer is, worth it's money! Extra note: the back light on the keyboard and apple logo is amazing and the speakers are pretty good.

I purchased this item in store, after 4months I realized that the CD player not working and I never test it since the if purchase, so no warranty no exchange. I don't recommend to buy open box items.

Wanted to hate it but I couldn't

I really had a hard time justifying the Mac purchase. However, my goals were long battery life, high quality, portability, and still plenty fast. When I started trying to fit those criteria with a pc, the price jumped up to at least as high as this anyways, so the cost thing became sort of a non issue to me. The 4GB of ram is somewhat limiting, but Apple considers it a user serviceable part, so upgrading it should not damage your warranty unless of course you break something in the process. I have already ordered an 8GB set online for it for a measly $60 with free shipping, that is a lot less than the $200 Apple charges to do it. Even with the somewhat limited memory that it currently has, I am still able to run Windows 7 in VMware Fusion 5 with reasonable performance in both operating systems, that is more memory intensive than anything most people will do with it. The touchpad on this thing is something to be truly amazed by, after using this one, every other touchpad feels clunky and unresponsive. The multi touch gestures work perfectly. Overall, I am very satisfied with this computer, and I got it on sale at Best Buy for $50 cheaper than I could have gotten it at the Apple store, even with my education discount. One more thing, you literally can go all day on a charge with this thing in moderate to light use, 7-8 hours of web browsing, including the occasional video is no problem at all.

    Awesome laptop

Well worth the money paid for this laptop. Very quiet laptop, does not get hot like many of the pc type laptops. I thought I would never switch over to Mac but I have been sold and I would not buy anything else. Also the price was excellent due to the extra student discount offered by MAC. I looked at the newer retina display MacBook Pro but I could not see much difference other than the PRICE. So I decided against that one but I am very happy with my choice. Unfortunately at Best Buy you don't get the "white glove" treatment that you receive at the Apple stores but it was easy to set up and get started. I am certain this laptop will last me a long, long time unlike the HP I had to put to sleep after less than 2 years.

Speed: This MacBook pro is fast, really fast, it boots up in around 30 seconds, apps open quickly and the MacBook doesn't lag when it comes to video editing, and Photoshop also runs decently. Design: The computer has a great design, its not that thick, it has all the necessary ports, even a battery indicator which I think is awesome, it also has USB 3 which is really nice and fast Keyboard: The keyboard is amazing, the keys are sensitive and it feels amazing to type on them, the keyboard is backlit, which is perfect for typing in low lights situations. Trackpad: The glass trackpad is really nice, its big, the entire trackpad is a button and the gestures are really nice. Simply the best trackpad I've used. Battery: Battery life is pretty good, I get around 5-6 hours doing normal tasks. Screen: I think 1280-by-800 is quite low for a computer this expensive and that its claimed to be a professional notebook, even the 13" MacBook air has a better display. Don't get me wrong, the display is not that bad looking, in fact its quite good, but for something this expensive it will be nice if it came with a better screen.

You know that any product coming from Apple will have great build quality. Aside from a great design, the OS is great and continuity comes in handy especially if you have other Apple products. Great for students or if you simply need a good laptop on the go.

I decided to switch to a mac after having issues with every laptop I have had no matter the brand. So last Black Friday this went on sale I was originally looking at the air but since the pro cost the same as I was wiling to spend I went ahead and got the pro. During my research I saw that people were upgrading only bc the new os wouldn't work on there laptop not any other reason. I did upgrade my memory once I got it I use my laptop for a graphic business so I needed room. It took me a minute to get use to using a mac but once I did I never looked back. I loved my pro so much this year my husband got one. His $1000 Sony is trash after less than a year. I myself got an iMac and can't wait for it to get here. The programs on the mac os are cheaper and better able to do what I need. My only draw back for mac is not being able to use the program notebook from office. I have seen people install parallel to use window products and I cringe bc they are opening themselves up to virus that way. Honestly I love all things mac. Personally I think this is the smartest purchase I have made. It never freezes, gets stuck, my memory may get bogged down but I have 10 windows open at any given time so sometimes it slows down. I close a couple and its lighting fast. I would recommend getting a cover for it as well as a keyboard sleeve however it will heat up bc thats where the air flows out of. I have lots of cats and don't want there hair in there so I just bought an external fan.

If you are familiar with a PC stay with a PC. Otherwise be prepared for endless hours of wasted time while Apple support helps you over and over again, Best Buy required multiple visits to repair and install things that are simple to do on a PC.

Good laptop for high school and doing projects. It takes about 40 seconds to boot up, which is not bad, but can be improved with an SSD. Although the display is not a retina, it looks great. The processor is pretty fast and the 4GB of ram is enough for most people, who like me are not going to be doing video editing or anything like that. So as a computer that you can use for work or school it is a definite buy over any cheap windows computer that will not be as durable as a mac.

On MacBook Pro #3 within a month and a half! :(

I went to BB with plans to get a new computer. I originally went in looking at PCs, being a Dell owner for the past decade. However, I was not impressed with any of the Windows PCs, so took a look at the MacBook. As the associate began showing me more and more of the ins-and-outs, I fell in love! I decided to splurge, and get the Mac. My first computer ever was a Mac back in '95, and the only issues back then were slowness (but what computer wasn't!), and incompatibility of programs which is no longer a problem at all. Well, everything was going great for a month or so...until I noticed a dead pixel (white spot) on the screen, which drove me nuts!!! I brought it back to BB, and although I was out of the 30 day return/exchange policy, they immediately offered to exchange the computer for a brand new one. Great! I took the new one home, plugged my backup into it, and within minutes the new one was exactly as I had left the old one...until I tried to install the Trend Surfing Antivirus BB sold me. The last thing I saw was that the program was not compatible with Mountain Lion, and after that, the computer went nuts! It kept crashing - turning off, getting to the apple screen, claiming that the computer rebooted because of an error, and then it would reboot again. This repeated about 20 times, and seeing as I couldn't even log in, I brought it back to BB 3 hours after I took it home. The Geek Squad took a look and immediately offered another exchange! I did not reinstall the Trend Surfing and instead installed Kaspersky, and so far so good for the past 4 days. The only thing is that it occasionally takes a long time to start up and freezes on the white apple screen, and I have to turn it off and back on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, because besides these issues, I LOVE this computer and I really don't want to have to return it (I think the third one is my limit!). Its beautiful, sturdy, fast, has lots of shortcuts that make it more efficient to use than a Windows PC, and is great for editing photos (my hobby is photography). It makes beautiful presentations, and is just overall a great computer. I'm really hoping I don't run into any more problems with it, because I really don't want to give up on it!

    Good laptop

I purchased this MacBook Pro back in 2012 (when it was actually "new"). I didn't use it a lot before going to college a few years later, but it served as a great laptop. However, I'm not sure why Apple is still selling these laptops - they're still the mid-2012 version and it's 2016. Now that I've used this laptop a lot over the past few years, I've figured out what I like and don't like about this particular model. First, it's old for a computer. Apple is still selling these as "new," but when you unload the box you can see it's the mid-2012 version. Personally, I would save my money and I'd purchase a more current laptop (like the MacBook Pro 13.3" with Retina display). Try running 2016 programs on a 2012 hard drive & software. It's not always easy and my laptop often freezes if I open up too many (more than 4 usually) newer programs at a time. The battery life leaves something to be desired. It is supposed to last 7 hours (according to Apple's website), but it really doesn't. I've used my laptop in long classes taking notes and doing homework and my battery will go from 100% to 40% in about 3 hours (depending on what programs I'm running; sometimes it lasts longer). It's a pain to charge your laptop every single time you want to do homework or take notes in class so it doesn't die. And if you watch Netflix, the battery drains ridiculously fast. The CD port. I've used it to burn CDs and watch DVDs, but with Netflix, I really have no use for it. It also adds to the weight of the laptop, but it's not really heavy unless you're carrying it around with you for several hours each day. I've found that the programs on my Mac are really easy to use. I've owned several Apple products before, but this is my first computer from the company. For a 2012 laptop, it seems to run fast until you open several programs at once, or try to update software. I updated to the El Capitan software and it took several hours (probably due to my wifi speed). I haven't had any trouble with the current software as other previous reviewers have mentioned, but I did have a lot of trouble with OS X Yosemite. I couldn't log into programs like FaceTime or Messages on my laptop, which wasn't really a big deal, but it was annoying. Honestly, if you're looking for a laptop to surf the internet or type up papers, this is a good laptop for that. However, if you're looking for a laptop to take to college or work (or run some new programs on), please consider purchasing a newer laptop. The latest models of the MacBook Pro (no CD drive) have a battery life that can last up to 10 hours, and it's built with a current hard drive and software. You'll appreciate that in the long run when you start to install 2016 programs (try using Microsoft 2016 on a 2012 laptop...it's a pain).

    A must have Laptop

I love this Macbook Pro!!! I upgraded from an older version and this one is 100 times better even. Even though this is the entry level for the macbook pros this little guy has some serious components. The 13" is light enough to travel with it from school, work, and home. The aluminum body warms to the touch, but with the better fans and internal parts inside, the body doesn't get extremely hot. The sideways magpower is nice because you can't knock it out with your leg but does cover eithernet and firewire connections (not that i really use them as this thing has bluetooth and WiFi) . Overall, if you are willing to put down the cash this is a must have for anyone that is a computer geek (like myself) or if you simply want a well bult machine for email, photos, music, and internet.

I started off learning Apple products years ago, then went to Windows based desktops/laptops. I forgot how fun and easy Apple products are. Stick with Apple products - they are a little more expensive than windows based products but worth every penny! This MacBook Pro is superb. I have Apple TV, two iPhone 5S, iPad Air and an iPad mini. This MacBook Pro seamlessly integrates all those together on my home network. The latop is easy to use. Even beginners can learn. It is very sturdy and after thoroughly inspecting it, it is NOT constructed using any type of cheap material. I paid $999.99 as a sale price. I would have gladly paid more, again worth every penny. It will last for years. 4GB of memory. 500GB of storage space. Yeah buy it if you're in the market.

I bought this laptop near the end of 2014 and have enjoyed using it since. I have had virtually no problems between now and then. I use it for work (word processing and writing code) and it works quite well for that. Definitely not a gaming machine though, and probably not an intensive photoshop / video editing machine anymore either. A couple things I *strongly* recommend to any owners is to upgrade two things, both will drastically improve performance: - upgrade to 8 GB of RAM - upgrade to an SSD hard drive Pros: - the last Macbook that is customizable -- you can upgrade the hard drive, Ram, etc - the last Macbook that has a built-in CD/DVD drive - a Macbook that actually has a full array of ports (USB, Ethernet, etc) without need for an adapter - design looks great, solidly built - probably the best option price-wise for any Mac enthusiasts currently Cons: - Apple is unlikely to be helpful with any repairs on this machine, as it is well out-of-date - The current Mac OSX slows down the machine if you don't upgrade the RAM and the hard drive - Similar processing power can now be afforded much more cheaply via a windows laptop Though I wouldn't recommend it as a mid-2016 new purchase, this has been the best laptop I have owned and am planning on keeping it as long as possible.
