I've had this laptop for about two weeks now and I'd have to say - not bad. Like all Apple products, the simplicity of the laptop makes it easy to set up with everything you need already installed. Things like Safari (Internet), Contacts, iMessage, Music, and any other apps are easily accessible from the toolbar at the bottom. Never having a Macbook before, though, it took me a little while to figure out how to use the touchpad. I can't wait to take this thing with me to college this fall. It's small enough for a backpack and I love typing on this thing which will make it great for notes. It's battery life is pretty impressive too. And with the student discount added to the already marked-down price, it made it much more affordable for me. I'd recommend this to any student but get the $100 off discount!

After a compaq & gateway tower, a Dell & Sony laptop, I finally gave the Apple MBP a try. My mind is boggled after taking so many years to finally give their products a try because this is the one I am sticking with. What made me lean toward this product was having friends who said they were content with their MacBooks. One of my favorite features is the backlit keyboard since I type in the dark many times. I would say the processor is good, and the display is great. The Apple OS X interface does not take long to get use to. After having my MacBook for nearly a year, I can say that the battery life is better than any other PC laptop I've owned brand new. I've upgraded the RAM because the 4GB did not seem enough to me. I do not like that techs cannot upgrade any hardware except the HDD and RAM. Sometimes I also wish it had an HDMI port, which is what the newer models have, but it is not a must for me. As much abuse as I do, if this can last me a minimum of three years, then I will say that I am sticking with Apple's MBP series. So far, it has not let me down.

I got this computer a few days ago and have had a few days off for the holidays so ive been on this about 14 to 15 hours a day, ive already started editing my own music, editing videos, set up my accts for business and linked to all of my media as it all seemed to easy and too good to be true for the first time it was not , not a single hitch easy to switch over considering ive been using my droid as my primary phone, mail device, calender etc. if your looking for a computer that is ready to roll and sick of the blue screens of windows as i was to the point i shut off my dell 3 years ago and have not turned it back on, buy this one you wont be dissappointed

Can't figure this computer out. I don't find it easy to use and do not like it. If you would take it back, I would be very pleased. Otherwise I am going to to try and sell it

Mac has come a long way in the last 10-15 years. Those who are about my age (~30) remember the old iMacs and the terrible original apple computers. That stigma no longer holds true. This is the first Mac I have personally owned. Bought it on Black Friday. Got 200 off in the store. Best purchase I have made in years. Lets start with the interface. Its clean, organized, customizable, and logical. No stupid "dashboard" with a checkerboard look of the internet and pictures and documents. You click on an icon at the bottom and it runs like it should. No 5 steps to open up a program. Mac is now known for its tremendous reliability compared to Windows. You turn it on.. it works... you turn it off.. it turns off. No closing out of 30 applications, no stupid windows updates that requires 10 reboots, no incompatible drivers. At the end of the day.. the mac just works. The battery life is great. turn the display down and i can get almost 5 hours with moderate to heavy web browsing. running neflix will get you about 3. The case is aluminum and feels very sturdy. All in all i would recommend this to anyone skeptical about switching to Mac. its idiot proof to anyone who hasnt used a computer and has a minimal learning curve to those who have only used windows. Great Product!

I love my MacBook Pro. I have owned it for about a year. No slowdowns no freeze ups it just does what it is supposed to do. It comes with good software not junk trial stuff. The software is much easier to use than most windows software. I Will never go back to a windows machine Ever.

This is my son's first own mac. We like it over the newer ones because of the cd capabilities, it is fast and reliable for the purposes of a high school student. Great mac!!!

I just bought my first Mac pc yesterday, and I have no idea why I bought anything but Mac before. First, I bought the Iphone 5, and loved it, then heard so many others fascinated by switching to Mac, So I decided to give it a shot. I prefered this computer over the Macbook Air, because of the hardrive space and processor speed, also, the MBA was just way too thin for me. There really isnt that much difference in the weight, I prefer performance. Don't make the mistake I made in comparing this to windows based Pc's; just like you cant compare 3.0 ghz AMD to 3.0 ghz Intel. You can have lower specifications in the apple products and still have a better product than windows based products with higher specifications. I know it is a bit more expensive, but it is definitely worth ever cent you invest. All the above, In my opinion!

I love it, programing is very easy to understand! Great size not too big but not small! Would definitely recommend.

There is nothing bad that I can say about this laptop. I went into best buy and had picked out a windows hp when I talked to a rep who told me that windows wasn't the way to go especially with their new operating system. So I went home did my research and ended up making the best decision of my life. This laptop is so easy to use. I am in college and I'm constantly needing to switch back and forth between documents and the internet. With the trackpad you can easily swip between your open apps without fear of closing them. The battery life is ASTOUNDING! After owning 2 windows thats batteries lasted at the most, 3 hours I am very pleased by the 7 hour battery life. I was able to switch all of my stuff over from my pc to my mac in a sinch. There were no chords or usb cards needed. In the end this has just been a really great buy and if you are looking for an AMAZING quality laptop thats going to last you years, then this is the one for you.

I've always liked apple products, from my iPod classic to my iPad. Its fast and a great choice for my studies and hobbies (graphic design and photography)

I love this computer!! The iPhone 4S was my first Apple product and I never looked back. I now have everything Apple! This computer is so light but durable and made with such quality! The price for these computers now makes sense. Other computers are made of plastic and don't last. These computers are made strong and reliable!! Screen is BEAUTIFUL!! Other computer companies make flashy and colorful computers to draw you in but just don't stand up to the test of time. You might be able to buy other computers for $400 but only runs well for a month or so and then begins to lag and takes forever to start up. This computer is so quick starting up!

In for constant repairs, always terribly slow. Never would have purchased if only I knew the frustrations.

i used to have the model of macbook pro 13" before this. i got it 10 days ago, i didn't know apple was releasing a new one soon thats why i bought one before the launch. i had problems with the iPhoto so i went back to best buy to get it checked and see if i can get a new one of the same model i had. so while i was waiting, i was looking at the apple displays and they didn't have the new pro's on the floor yet. the lady came out and handed me a new pro. she said this is a new pro. i said "ok". in my mind i thought she was talking about it being brand new box. then she said, we don't have the same model that i bought 10 days ago, and she said this is the new pro that came out yesterday. i was surprised coz they just handed me the newest model that came out on the 11th. WOW! i dint know they had it already. i guess I'm one of the first ones to own one! its waaay faster processor and i noticed the images are sharper. i love it! <3

I have 4 of these units!! They are fast, smooth, and have just the right components to make my business flow and personal navigation easy.

I bought the Mac primarily so that I could run Logic Pro X. The program rocks for the price and quality. Hopping over to Mac after 20 years on a PC was a big change, though I do like it now. I don't like that a lot of features are hidden and feel like a "new mac users" tutorial video or program in the computer would improve the experience. The machine itself is very very nice. It does get hot if you leave it on your lap but not overly so. Just put it on a table and it's completely fine. My one big complaint would be the whites of the screen. They're somewhat washed out or something. It's hard to describe. Where the colors look splendid, the whites are very 'meh'. Overall; for the price I paid, I really like the purchase

Excellent computer, perfect size (13 in), beautiful design and feel, awesome operating system. What else can you ask? I was a windows user my whole life and not looking back. I like the fact that this computer can be upgraded as well to SSD, maybe something i would like to do in the future for even faster performance. I highly recommend this computer.

The Mac laptop is a great machine. It's got a lot of processing power and the upgrade to Lion went easily. No issues with the machine. The setup, configuration and installation was as I expected, seamless. I would say that if I were going to change one thing about the machine, spring for some extra memory. 8GB of memory takes this machine to a great machine. It seriously increases the performance by two fold it seems to me.

The only downfall to any Mac is the price. It is a bit steep. But I will say they are worth it! People can't complain and say they aren't as good as other computers because they don't run the same OS. That's the whole point to buying a Mac. It isn't Windows based. It takes some getting used to if you are coming from a PC, but it's pretty easy to get the hang of. The screen is amazing, the processor is fast, and it is sleek! Overall a great buy!

I tried purchasing this MacBook online for the sale price, unfortunately I wasn't able to because of technical difficulties on the BestBuy website. I was told by a local Best Buy to contact corporate which I did, because when I tried to purchase the item again, it was no longer on sale that same day. I contacted corporate, was back and forth on the phone with them for about 4 and a half hours. Kept getting hung up on until I finally got a hold of a representative through corporate who walked me through what I needed to do to get what I wanted. He and another representative in corporate ASSURED ME a price adjustment to the sale price if I purchased this item online at regular price. He transferred me to post sales, who also, kept hanging up in my face everytime I attempted to speak and when I did speak to someone, they said "there were no notes on the account saying the price can be adjusted" . 4 and a half hours later, I finally gave up for the day. I am completely happy with the product, I just can't enjoy it because Best Buy decided to give me the run around and waste my time. I will be contacting Best Buy again today, all day if I have to. And if it comes to it, I will be making a complaing about their customer service. I worked in customer service for 2 years and for a corporate company to not take notes and document phone calls especially if a customer has made more than 2 phone calls. #I made about 7 in total# Unacceptable Best Buy.
