Customers are saying

A little expensive, but WORTH IT.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So, I went to Best Buy 12/15 with the intention of getting an HP. I really wanted a MacBook, but was not sure about dropping that much money for a computer right now. My fiance and I got the HP home and couldn't even get past the set up without errors. It actually wouldn't even let us set anything up! I knew we should have bought the MacBook. We returned the HP, got the MacBook and I am so happy we did! Yes, it's a little pricey, but it's well worth it. Runs smoothly and does everything I need. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! The only thing missing is a ten-key. But the ease and functionality is worth the trade off.

Great Laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordering online was quick and pretty simple. I use this laptop for school and it's been very easy to use. I purchased it on sale and a bonus was that I was still able to use my student discount to save another 50 dollars (making the purchase at Best Buy a lot cheaper than other places).

Amazing for Apple
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MacBook Pro 13" is very nice. The speed of 2.5 GHz is enough for a simple business man, or student. Word documents and email with social networking all work fine even when multitasking all three. The display has very sharp and beautiful colors. It's surprisingly thin! When you pick it up you'd expect it to be heavier, it doesn't look to big either. It's not a mini laptop, but it's still portable ( airplanes, classrooms, meetings)

Windows user actually likes MacBook Pro
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As I lifelong Windows user, I wasn't looking forward to buying an Apple laptop. But as a web and app developer, I needed to give in so I can check my sites with Safari and see what it takes to create an iPhone app. First, I have to say that I love the touch pad, especially how you can press the whole pad for a mouse click, and two-finger press for a right click. I now have a habit of trying to press the touch pad on my Toshiba laptop. I want all laptops to have this kind of touch pad. I'm also getting used to some of the key differences, like Command-C to copy instead of Control-C, etc. Or using Option-Delete instead of Backspace. Not as annoying as I expected. I used to think a back-lit keyboard was unnecessary, but I find it's helpful when it starts to get darker in the afternoon - I don't have to turn on more lights to see what I'm doing. As for the cost, yes, I bought my 15-inch Toshiba laptop for less than half of the price of this product. And I couldn't fathom paying the premium for the Retina version. But I'll give Apple a lot of points for the quality of the design, manufacture, and integration with its OS. So if you do buy one, you will not feel like you've been ripped off. In fact, I actually wouldn't mind replacing my aging Vista desktop with an iMac. Having to jump into the Apple world, I'm glad I could wait until now when they've made it so easy to use.

Perfecto in every way
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first Mac from being a long time PC/Windows user. Just had enough with all the freeze-ups and clunkiness of Microsoft. I actually bought the Retina first but didn't like not having a CD/DVD drive with it. I also saw that the Retina display was not $1000. better than the standard Macbook Pro. The deal breaker was the absence of the optical drive though. Anyways, I love the 13 inch model that I now have since I travel a lot. The 15 inch was too big. The Best Buy sales associates were great. All in all I recommend this without any reservations.

One of, it not the best, laptops on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new MacBook Pros have taken the next step in computing. This computer is paired up with my 15" 2010 version MacBook Pro. It is incredibly fast, extremely portable, and very user friendly. If you've never been a Mac user, or if you are skeptical about changing over, don't be. The minute to turn it on, the computer is ready to go and walk you through a new, simple computer life.

love apple's macbook pro 13inch
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love my mac book pro !! I got it as an open boxed item. It works the same. It is lighting last and it has great battery life. I love how it syncs with all my other devices. it has been on most of the day and I haven't got a warning about charging it. I love how they gave us extra cord too. I love how i can have shot cuts to my favorite things. It is a awesome laptop defiantly coming from a dell Inspiron 1545 that was slow and always freezes. I love how this doesn't freeze or slow. Hope this laptop can last for ever.

Amazing product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very hesitant to switch from a PC to a Mac, and have been asking Mac users around me for their opinions. Everyone who's commented have agreed on one thing: user-friendliness. Well, I decided to purchase one on Thanksgiving morning ($165 off!) and finally got around to opening and installing it today. I love, love, LOVE this product! I now realize what everyone meant by "user-friendliness," and I completely agree. It took me around 3 hours of playing around to figure out the basics and set it up to my personal preferences. As for things that I didn't know, I simply googled it. For anyone who is hesitant to switch, do not be afraid! I have been a PC user for 15+ years, and now I regret not having "converted" sooner.

Loving the Apple Apps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer for two main reasons. 1. I needed a computer that I could take to class, study groups, the coffee shop, etc. and not need to worry about charging it. 2. I wanted to use the programs I was trained with in school, such as I Movie and Garage Band. For me, it has fulfilled both of these functions perfectly. It is a lot of money for what it is, but thankfully I managed to buy it during a sale! A pleasant surprise for me was amount of free apps in the Apple store. If you buy this computer, I highly recommend looking through them! Thank you for reading this review and enjoy your shopping!

Should have ponied up in the first place
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a newer laptop for grad school and some travel with work, I arrived at this MacBook after buying a Windows 8 desktop and buying/ returning two Windows Ultrabooks. The ability to run Windows 7 through bootcamp, should I need to leave the Apple eco-system for programs or external hardware, sold me on a test drive. Having tried two Samsung Ultrabooks and returned them to Best Buy before buying this, I was skeptical. I thought I would miss the touchscreen capabilities, I couldn't believe that the same hardware could be worth nearly twice the price with different software. I wasn't an "Apple person," and didn't think I wanted to associate with "them." There is a learning process when switching from PCs, and I cannot totally escape Windows 8 with this machine as work, school, and many other outfits continue to insist on new equipment. I am at present learning both Mac and 8, with all that I should have learned in XP and Vista but didn't catching up. When the sales clerk asks if you've got Mac experience, and you respond "I've got an iPad Mini, and my brother has an iPhone, and their great," the fishy look she gives you is not without reason. That said, learning to use Mountain Lion is more like Rosetta Stone while Windows 8 has been like Berlitz Language on Cassette. Both work, one requires a great deal more time and patience than the other. This machine boots fast, battery life is great, screen resolution is great, speakers are freakishly good for a small laptop, everything just works, everything. Rebooting from a shutdown is not much longer than from sleep, from sleep is awfully fast. Running multiple tabs or webpages at the same time is no problem. Connecting to my printer, iPhone, Android phone, party speaker, iPad, wifi, etc is quick and devoid of foul language. The DVD drive is probably the least useful feature, but Netflix movies that won't read on my DVD player work on the Mac, and I can burn music discs for the car. Had I bought the MacBook Pro when I bought my desktop, instead of the desktop, I could have saved a lot of money and frustration over all the intermediate steps. I can't believe that the retina display is so much better than this display as to merit the extra cost, but I also couldn't believe that the Apple touchpad would be so much more useful than a touch screen. The integration of hardware and software is remarkable in the MacBook Pro. Learning the language is a challenge akin to a Philadelphian learning Baltimorese. If you are considering a MacBook, but not sure about the extra cash, try one for ten days. The first day will be heaven, the second will be frustrating with unfamiliar commands, the third and forward will be a gratifying learning process. If you disagree, Best Buy will take it back within 14 days. They guarantee it so I don't have to, but, this review is the first time in two weeks I have fired up my desktop at all.

Get them while they last.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're still looking for a MBP that has the optical (CD/DVD) drive this is it! The 2012 13"! I think they're going to start phasing them out. Apple is taking them down from their displays. I bought it because I still use Firewire 800 and still use the dvd drive. The USB 3.0 is a plus! I installed an SSD and 16gb of RAM and this thing is fast! More quiet and cooler than my 2011 model. The 13" took some getting used to but its perfect.

Great Product but Not Perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I primarily bought this MacBook Pro as a Christmas gift for my wife and to duel boot windows 7 Pro on it for me as I write PC based code (software). The positives on this computer are Obvious and well known and include great construction, great parts and a stable and secure operating system that supports most household and small business tasks as well as great professional graphics interfaces (though these are typically performed on the Mac Pro desktops). Now for the downsides: 1) For my personal use I bought this product to be a more powerful home laptop than my existing windows 7 PC that has an AMD Turion dual core clocked at 2.1 GHZ and 4GB of DDR2 Ram while the specs on the MacBook pro are clearly better than my Windows 7 Laptop; Apple dropped support for Windows 7 on this edition (despite being told by the salesmen it was supported). Only Windows 8 is supported needless to say this computer is all my wife's now the only use I get out of it (from a programming standpoint) is checking Webpages for Safari compatibility, which I can do with our older Macbook. Now for the other pitfall: This Macbook has similar hardware specs to a $500 windows machine adding in the construction quality make that $700. So OS X is roughly $300 this is a little steep in my opinion.

Great laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though this is an older version of MacBook Pro, it is still great for the price. Although you sacrifice the retina resolution found on newer models, you gain much more memory and a faster processor than the cheapest MacBook Pro with retina.

Awesome!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daughter needed a new computer that had more memory and could go faster! She has loved her previous MacBook. She had it for 5 years with no problems. She needed an updated one! My husband inherited the old one and it's still going strong!
