Customers are saying

Customers recognize the MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, and battery life as significant strengths, with many praising its lightweight design and favorable price point. However, some users express concerns regarding the hard drive's limitations and the amount of RAM. A few also mention challenges with heat generation and operating system compatibility. Overall, the positive feedback on usability and performance outweighs the negative comments on specific components.

    Android and previous PC user.

I have been an Android and PC user when it comes to my technology. Windows 8 made me reconsider my preferences. I bought a Samsung Series 9 ultrabook loaded with Windows 8 and returned it within a day. Windows 8 is great and all but it feels like it belongs in their tablets, not PC. After being on the Laptop market for a couple of days, I looked in to a MAC. The MAcBook Air didn't seem like my thing and didn't have all the ports i need and looked to fragile, I settled on the MacBook Pro 13.3. At first I felt guilty about ditching my loyalty to Windows, but after using it for a couple days, I got over it! The aluminum housing gives it a great look and feel. Downloading files and personalizing it is very easy. Highly recommend it.

this is my first mac ive ever owned. ive had windows for 13+ years. i had a vaio laptop and was alright, but i wanted a change. mac definitely offered a change. battery life is twice as good, much better display, love how everything is well integrated like gmail and facebook. i use it for word processing and browsing, but i see myself using this laptop more than my PC desktop. this is by far the best laptop ive ever owned. even though my brother used to hate apple, this laptop has changed his mind completely and actually loves it.

This is a great laptop, it is a perfect size for that person on the go. You will not lose anything with this laptop. I was hesitant to buy due to never having a Mac product but that changed right away. Very fast, great display and easy to use. My wife, a college student, is not great with computers but found it real easy to maneuver around the Mac. I strongly recommend this to anyone who is trying to simplify there lives.

I needed to replace my old Laptop and was looking to buy a MacBook. I even got a deal of $100 off the total price. So, I bought it immediately. This product is easy to set up, amazing screen and speed.

I had a Dell PC and bought a MacBook Pro and I was afraid I would have a hard time learning to use it, not the case. Easy to use, very stylish, and very quick. It is like driving a really old car and then driving a brand new one. Big difference. Great price.

I picked up this MacBook Pro during the tax-free weekend sale although I had been looking at it for awhile. This is my first Mac and I was a little nervous about switching from Windows based PC's. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve and it does take a little getting used to but it's not so difficult. So far I'm loving it. It fits needs so I don't feel like I missed out on choosing this one over the Retina version or the MacBook Air. The hard drive space is definitely worth it for me. My music library in ITunes is well over 100GB on it's own...so the smaller sized hard drives wouldn't have met my needs at all. The price was pretty good compared to the more expensive Retina and Air versions. I'm sure I could easily get a PC for less with some pretty great specs but my desire to try a machine that has rave reviews for lasting longer and being less maintenance was worth the extra dollars for me. I also love the easy compatibility to my iPad mini, iPhone, and my sons iPods.

I used to be a Windows-holic, but now that I have purchased this Macbook Pro, I will be never be going back. So much easier to use, and many programs that you have to purchase for Windows is already included with the Mac OS. Very easy to learn, and trust me, you won't want to go back either.

Still a Pro with Memory and SSD Upgrade

I needed to replace my current laptop months ago. Although I like Windows 10, the average user will not know how or be able to (depends on Windows version) to *really* disable those automatic updates that take up bandwidth and restart the computer at inopportune times. Windows 10 requires a lot of maintenance because it is easier to get viruses or spyware on that type of OS. I was ready to try something new after using almost every version of Windows only for almost thirty years now. That said, I am a tech enthusiast, who needed an overall great choice for personal use, college classes, and an occasional work-related project. I decided to wait until the new MacBook Pros came out, but I was disappointed. Thin is not in. People need ports, user-replaceable parts, and battery life along with features that make the product easier to use and more user-friendly. *After* the 2012 model (the ones with NO DVD drive), RAM is soldered in. The SSD on these new models is a proprietary part. It basically means one is stuck with whatever configuration the MacBook Pro is purchased in or buy an expensive proprietary part IF you can find it. Upgrades at purchase tend to be more expensive than swapping out the parts oneself. Also gone is the MagSafe charge port (had something similar on current laptop and it saved my laptop many times!), SD card slots, and USB ports--most everything that makes it a Pro and portable without all the wires and dongles. One more thing. The price on the new models increased, and this was before one considered the additional cost of the dongles—none are included. This 2012 model (made in 2015) has it all! I bought this model on Sunday at Best buy in Conway, AR on November 6th. I could not be happier! A week later I updated the software to Sierra, traded out the hard drive for an SSD, bumped the memory to 16 GB, and can still run Windows within Mac by using VM software. What an improvement! I love the convenience of the built-in CD/DVD drive too. The sales associate was very knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. In particular, I have trouble seeing small print and was concerned about not having retina display. This screen is like HD 1080p so it works fine. I also had some concerns about video editing too. However, if I convert my 4k video to popular app's video format first, it is much easier to edit. A higher quality input file results in a clearer file or DVD too. This was a pleasant surprise because the graphics card is integrated on this and most laptops. So far I have found it pretty easy to transition between MacOS and Windows though I had to Google a few things. If you can still find one on sale or clearance, it was about half the price of the new one even with the upgrades I did.

I got this MacBook as a gift. Very reliable and good quality. Good battery life. My only suggestion is to upgrade RAM to 8gb and switch from hdd to ssd. These should increase the overall performance and productivity of this laptop.

Switching to Apple OS was the best

I originally was reluctant to purchase a new laptop a few months back and I ended up purchasing (and later returning) and laptop that ran Windows 8 and could not deal with it one bit. Being someone who loves his iPhone and iPad it was clearly the best choice to get a Mac. Obviously the price is a little scary at first but it is worth every dollar.

I've been a PC user since the days of MS-DOS up until Windows 8. I do everything from vdo editing to music recording and I've always had issues one way or another with Windows. Finally, after convincing myself to give the MacBook a try and the $899 price tag along with it, I pulled the trigger. Let me say that I am extremely satisfied with it's performance. I've already created movies and recorded live music sessions with it and not one issue so far. The track pad is definitely a step up from Windows. Hard to say but I've fallen in love the Team Mac. You will not regret.

    Nothing compares to a Mac

Until I owned my own iMac, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. Then after being frustrated with our PC I bought the iMac then the Macbook Pro, one for each of my two sons and this one is a gift to my mother, whose pc died. She is now hooked on Apple. They are stable, easy, and when you open the box you know its worth the money. This is a great laptop for anyone who is just starting out and does not intend to do heavy gaming and graphics. Not the greatest speakers is its only downfall.

I've only had it a few days, but it was easy to set up and use. It shipped with the previous OS, but I was able to go online and upgrade to Mavericks free of charge. I was also able to download Pages, Numbers and Keynote free of charge. I'm looking forward to learning more about Macs and possibly upgrading my desktop PC to Mac.

Bought this Mac for video editing and it is perfect for that. Battery lasts all day. I am glad I made this purchase - no regrets. I feel that this is a superior notebook but it is a bit overpriced. Just my opinion - but I did buy it, right? Make sure you get the optional coverage in case you drop it! Oh yeah, I am now a former PC user!

The Apple rep in the store made this such a no brainer, painless process. He also notified me of the 10% off for students.....which Best Buy has never told me about and I have purchased several Apple products for my student here. One even argued, saying the 10% off was already reflected in the price and the Apple rep corrected him saying that was just the general sales price. So....this customer is very happy to have been helped by an informed professional. My 18 yo son has been wanting one for a loooong time, he LOVES it. He loves downloading his music, checking his social media sites, downloading pics and once at college, this is nice and light and going to be great for him to use.
