good battery life, besides macbook air can beat this, nothing else can beat the battery life. But Macbook air isn't as fast as things one, so performance or battery life, that is your choice.

This thing is amazing.....earlier this year after failed windows updates that completely hosed my computer, I decided I was done with the constant problems with Windows and I was NOT impressed with Windows 8 and their stupid tiles. The boot up time is so much shorter compared to Windows, install and uninstall is quick since there is no registry to make happy....and its lightweight. There is a learning curve involved, but its fairly simple to figure out if you are patient. If you are thinking about getting a Mac, DO IT. You will NOT regret it.

I purchased this laptop last year in November. It took me sometime to write this feedback because i would like to use and see how it functions. So far, it has worked very well. Maybe crashed once but that's it. I ordered it online. At first, I was very nervous about shipping this laptop. It came in in the secure box. It's packed very nicely. This laptop is my first "Apple" product. Overall, I absolutely love this Mac. So, I ended up with buying IPhone 6 plus with Best Buy in February this year.

The Macbook Pro is simply a fantastic machine. The build quality is superior. The Macbook Pro is a great machine for any user because it never quits on you. The performance is amazing as you can pretty much do anything you want it too. The Macbook Pro is also one of the only machines left in the Mac line with a CD drive built in. This being said, this machine is great for music enthusiasts. I highly recommend, once you go mac you don't go back.

I am absolutely blown away with this computer. I am going to college this fall, and I didn't want to have to spend this much. I bought an HP Pavillion, and it froze on me twice. I also got a blue screen on it. I took it back, and I decided to buy a Mac. I hated spending this much, but I'm sure glad that I did. I love this computer. It has so much to offer, and comes with garage band, photo booth,.... I am using this for school, so I didn't want to use pages with it. I just bought Microsoft office for Mac. It works great.

Worry free purchase. The thought of not having to buy another laptop next year because of viruses, child durable, and so many features. Just I would've purchased from apple because didn't get promo offered by bestbuy so would've came better if brought from manufactor! Had to get iPad and iPhone 5 because I was so satisfied with it.

I am new to the Macbook market and thought that surely it must be over hyped, well folks it's not. Wow! what a night and day difference between Windows and Mac Os. It's like the difference between driving a 86' Honda and then upgrading to a Mercedes E class. Both will get you there but I would rather enjoy the ride. No worries about viruses and to be able to smoothly navigate from page to page without dragging around. Window machines including the new Window 8 will never catch up with a mac in ease of use.

This is my first time using a Mac, at least since I was in elementary school in the 80s! It is an amazing machine, very fast and although the commands seem the exact opposite of Windows PCs, it hasn't taken long for me to figure things out. I love the clean interface and the Mac App Store. I'm a teacher and will primarily use the MacBook for work, so I had planned to buy Office for Mac, but with Pages, Numbers and Keynote, I really don't see the point! They get the job done and more elegantly than Office. Best Buy's price match program is wonderful, so I was able to get it for a lower price. I am very pleased with my purchase!

I purchased this same computer 2 years ago, my daughter loved it so much, I never got to use it! So, I bought her a new one of her own before sending her off to college. Best Buy won out on price again! I need all the help i can get saving money for college.

This MBP is worth every dime AT the SALE PRICE. I would not pay the full $1099 for this being that it is a 2012 model. I bought this to compliment my 2015 15" retina MBP because this has the built in CD/DVD drive, Firewire and ethernet built in.

I currently use PC's for certain projects and don't have major issues with them and would never discourage somebody from buying one depending on their needs, but being primarily a Mac user for almost 10 years now, I had no problem recommending and buying this model for a friend. What some people do not understand or has been explained to them is that you are paying for something more valuable. High price does not always equal more value, but in this case you are getting what you pay for. For someone who all they need is a browser and a word processor program or something light duty then something half the cost of this is more then enough for them and I cant help them justify the cost for this machine, I'd feel like a used car salesman. But for those who don't mind investing in a machine that they can get a lot of mileage and use out of then this laptop has that and more for you. If you were to buy a PC half the price of this and wanted to match the software included in this by buying some of your own, you'd probably be back up if not pass the price of this machine (iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband). Unless you're a pro (which in most cases already have Macs) these programs are great programs that'll let you be creative and enjoy using your computer and explore your media in new ways. I am very impressed with the MacBook Pro. So user-friendly and easy to navigate. Much better than Windows 8. I will never go back to a PC again. And the Black Friday price on BestBuy.com could not be beat so I finally decided to purchase after many months of thinking about it. Also, very pleased with the shipping from BB. Ordered on Saturday and it was at my door on Monday.

I have been an apple product user since it's early iPod era. However, I always felt that MacBooks were overpriced and never had one. After my struggles with Hp, Dell(I currently use a dell latitude E6530), when my wife was making the choice for laptops I suggested her the MacBook. She being a windows user was not too convinced she was ready for the Mac OS. However, with a lot of coaxing and convincing she decided to make this purchase. I now see her at ease with it and she loves the trackpad and the App Store for all her software needs. She uses FaceTime to chat with her mom and her friends and has already started editing our photos in iPhoto. Now, whenever I see her, I feel I should have got one for myself! Maybe I will treat myself to a MacBook Pro with retina display for this holiday season ;)

Been using macs for years and my son needed a laptop for college. We looked at Chromebooks (excellent for the price but still too limited), Asus, Acer, and Dell, but matching the hardware quality of a Mac made their best choices too expensive. We started out looking at Macbook Airs, but for just a little more dough, we got a much more upgradable machine with the MacBook Pro. I also own the 15" model and it's still going strong after 5 years with maxed out ram and an upgraded SSD. Great machine for a great price, especially with the student discount.

Little bit heavy compared to Air. Need to get use to it. Nice design to carry. Good Product.

I was away from Mac for a few months after my 2006 Mac Pro died. Yes, it lasted 9 years. I had to use my daughter's old PC and was purely despondent the entire time! But now, heaven has returned and all is right with the world!

I ordered my new mac book on Black Friday rather than going to the store, This was great! I love my new mac book and I have no complaints!

The Macbook pro was the best purchase I've made, at best buy, and believe me I've made a lot of them at best buy as they always have great prices. This computer, is great all around. great for video and photo editing. Great amount of storage, user friendly, great deal of apps, a landscape of creativity for anyone.

I would definitely say so, has better graphics, processor, USB 3, and you also get a free upgrade to Mountain Lion. Basically you get better performance, and USB 3 will be nice for the future.

This is my second macbook. Bought this one last year and still performs like a champ!! It's very powerful for such a small machine, love it!
