Bought this to replace my late 2008 Macbook as I'm starting grad school. I've already ordered memory upgrades to increase it to 8GB as 3.95GB of the available stock 4 is constantly used. Definitely a great deal and awesome computer. Macs are built to last and are worth the money!!

After years of PCs I wanted to try a Mac. My Vaio lasted 6.5 years and it was time to upgrade. After weighing my options between the pro vs. the air, I went with the pro. Simply because you can upgrade the RAM and harddrive to an SSD. Yes, it's a bit bulkier and heavier but I like knowing I can easily upgrade these parts. Also, the touchpad is AMAZING. I ready how great it was but after using it for months I don't think I could go back.

This MacBook Pro is everything I wanted and more!!

Best laptop or computer I have ever owned. I have only used Windows computers in my life until I decided to give the Mac a try. While many detractors rail on Apple for lesser RAM & HDD, the element of control over software & hardware integration makes the decisive difference between Macs & anything else. They are integrated beautifully which transforms the user experience. Gone are the days of pointless "work-a-rounds" for bugs & issues created by a licensing software / hardware building model of computer making. If you don't want to pull your hair out because of a buggy system or less than dependable hardware/software, look to the Mac. Two quick specifics: 1) the trackpad - I will never go back to using a mouse again. The trackpad is the best in class & with software support for gestures enhances & speeds navigation on your computer. 2) virus protection - while the Mac is not immune to harmful attacks, it is the most closed & protected system on the market. While most recommend having something to protect your system, you can live without spending the time & money on clunky (i.e. laggy running computer) anti-virus software. You get what you pay for rings true with this laptop.

I love this computer. It's fast, has a good amount of memory, and does everything I need it to. It was expensive, however, I feel like it's worth the cost since I have no worries about virus protection and because it really does run fast.

I've always been a fan of the MacBook since my first in 2003. This new MacBook Pro is really impressive. The programs load quickly, and the display is stunning. In an informal test, the MacBook seems faster than my 2011 iMac. The build quality is excellent. In fact, I like the MacBook Pro more than my iMac. I really happy with my purchase.

After going through 5 PCs in as many years, the last going belly up with a fouled MB since being purchased in August, I finally made the switch. I can simply hold it and feel the stark quality contrast between the Mac and the gamut of PCs I've owned, varying in brand from HP, Toshiba, Acer, Gateway etc. The mac is made out of about three total pieces of solid aluminum for the entire computer, the others were all made of about 10 to 15 pieces of cheap, flimsy plastic and all came out of the box with issues ranging from intermittent graphics cards to poorly designed power adapters, to just being flat out slow. Not to mention a host of windows errors and viruses. I am of the sound mind that one shouldn't need a degree in computer science just to be able to make the computer function on a day to day basis. The OS is the easiest I've ever used as well. Have not had any compatibility issues either. Windows no more for me. on a note, one reviewer had issues with installing flash, not so with mine, Flash went right on in about 45 seconds and runs error free. I love this thing, and its a breath of fresh, non-glitchy air. On the up side for my PCs though, they make great doorstops.

My Macbook Pro is great! I have had no problems. I would encourage anyone who wants an easy to use computer to buy one.

I had a macbook in college and due to it's age was wearing out and starting to have problems. got the newer one and it is even better. Transferring all my old files and programs was super easy and it is running great

This is hell of a machine. Reliable, Classy, Excellent Features, Lovely Performance Yeah Apple products are trust worthy. Never had any complaints yet. It's a major shift for one who are used to window machine, once you use mac will never want to go back. I am toggling between windows & mac (work & home) wish my employer too had all mac. Apple products are expensive but they worth it.

So I almost wrote a boring review about my Macbook just liek 90% people do. I`ve owned this computer for almost a year. I goes everywhere I go. I go camping it goes with with me, I go for vacation it goes with me. The thing i like most is the battery life at this moment i have 95% battery left and it`s showing me over seven (7) hours of battery life remaining. Let me tell you something I owned like 5 HP laptops/ computers what ever you call it and they don`t get even close to that. Most i got on my pc was like 3 hours tops. Second thing no more blue screens, no more problems witch makes my :) happy. I couldn't stand freezing and stuff like that with my mac no more problems. OK it`s not the retina display model but I still think that the screen is superb, clear sharp images, movies, games. Oh and yes I do play games on it, I do edit photos with it so it gets really loaded with software RAM is used to the limit. Price wise this laptop is more expensive than competition (PC) but is it fair to call then competition for this computer?? It does what I need when I need without any problems. Well it was supposed to be a short review however it is what it is. Sometimes even a review like this doesn't give you the whole picture. Let me put it this way GO to best buy get this MacBook forget about the PC and be happy worry free. You will like it well LOVE it and keep it. Thats from a guy that sleeps with his MacBook Pro.

Perfect. Designed beautifully. Fast and great for business or personal use

After using a pc all of he time, it was time to replace my laptop. I am so glad hat I made this switch. I have an Iphone which made the transition easier.

This laptop is top notch. It feels very natural in the lap and on a desktop. The keyboard is extremely comfortable and easy to use. The overall fit and finish is really without competition. The software is grand, but not without a learning curve for those coming from PC; there are some tricks needed for MacBook that a casual PC owner may not understand (like zip file management and creating a bootable USB backup).. Overall a good experience! Screen is without Retina Display, but do no let this fool you as it is still bright and crisp. This is not without cons however, but the cons are not bad!!! Second MacBook in 8 years here and the i5 shows no real major leap over the older intel core duo processor. Start up time is slow when compared to some top notch PCs in the same price range (take the Surface Pro 3 i5). This is not to say that boot times are horrible, but the popping in of icons and sluggishness of the desktop to be "ready to use" can be.

This laprop was perfect for what I needed. Was a new change for me ....always used MS Windows before, but i am liking this mac!

This is my first Mac. Technically it's my second Mac, since I found the display on the 11" MacBook Air unbearable and Best Buy let me trade up 14 days later. I have spent some time using Ubuntu Linux so the process of learning a new OS hasn't been that big a deal. Most of my issues are actually hardware-related. Aside from lock-ups and unexpected 'stopped working' errors in Safari and Messages, it's been pretty reliable. Battery life is every bit as good as advertised (quite rare for a Windows PC). My biggest problem without a doubt though has been the display quality. According to a pixel density comparison on Wikipedia, this computer has one of the lowest pixel densities of any device currently sold by Apple. Had I not grown used to the beautiful retina display and iOS on the iPhone 4, this might not have been a big deal (though I feel it has more to do with the attempt to shoe-horn a big screen desktop's OS onto a 13" display). Unlike Windows, pre-retina Macs offer no way to adjust DPI scale to make items in the OS bigger for those of us with less than perfect vision. You do have the option of lowering the resolution but that tends to make things even more blurry on an LCD. Basically, the hardware is top-notch but overpriced, and the OS is great when using a large external monitor but the poor display quality will leave you wishing either that you had sprung for the retina model or that Apple would make a version of iOS for its MacBooks.

I don't have no complaints about this product. Apple has the best products out there. This MBP is no different. Excellent.
