Customers are saying

Customers recognize the MacBook Pro's ease of use, performance, and battery life as significant strengths, with many praising its lightweight design and favorable price point. However, some users express concerns regarding the hard drive's limitations and the amount of RAM. A few also mention challenges with heat generation and operating system compatibility. Overall, the positive feedback on usability and performance outweighs the negative comments on specific components.

A little pricey, but mostly intuitive to use.

I'm not convinced the intuitive use of the laptop, as much as I like it, is worth the extra cost over Windows machines. I do like it, though.

I had finally decided to buy myself a Mac for my college classes. However, while finals are around the corner and projects are due..... my charger decides not work anymore(charger light flickers orange - green - off, screen blinks & dims). I bought the Mac Jan 15th..... not even 5 months ago. Very disappointed and stressed out.

    Two Mackbook Pro Lemons

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Hello, I purchased a Macbook Pro from Best Buy in the spring of 2014--it was a lemon and Best Buy gave me a another. An Apple representative investigated the Macbook Pro and agreed it was a lemon. My current Macbook Pro is a lemon too I have had two Mackbook Pro computers that have SEVERE instability issues with innate applications and 3rd party applications. My mail freezes, mail does not download, mail does not show up is the list box, and, if it does and I click the mail, it takes forever for the message to appear in the preview at times. Safari freezes ALL the time, text edit terminates, mail terminates, Adobe freezes, Microsoft word freezes, etc. and literally etc. This is no longer a question, but a warning to others. My Linux system, an open source OS, is MUCH more stable than Macbook Pro. I WILL never buy another Macbook Pro again in my life. As a chemical engineer, I am well aware of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, validation, and other quality control principles. One major component of each is the simple FACT that corporations MUST listen to consumers. I have not experienced that with Macbook Pro and Apple. As I type here, my cursor literally jumps a paragraph up and relocates. This happened the last time I wrote a complaint. From now on, I will put my money into a powerful PC laptop and go with a Linux distribution.

    Piece of junk

    Posted .

First time Mac owner and will never buy one again. THis computer is a piece of junk. For example, it will get stuck in 2 screen mode and not be able to recognize that I am not connected to another monitor and have my program displayed on the imaginary monitor. It will get bogged down and slow then the objects will scroll and drag with tracers. Every time I start from a shut down, many of my MS programs will be opened with blank files. I say many because it is often different every time. With facetime I forgot my password and there is not way to recover a new one. Files have disappeared, simple cutting and pasting of text has had issues at certain times. I am convinced that the 13.5 hard drives are not very robust and would not recommend that anyone buy these. It was expensive and there are numerous issues that I have never encountered in using computers for 10+ years.

Free upgrade to mountain lion kills battery

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The free upgrade to mountain lion has really eaten inton the battery life of my computer. I used to make it like a week before having to charge the battery. Now when I put it to sleep and open it up the next day I'll have lost fifteen to twenty percent of my battery. If an update that resolves this doesn't come out before my return period is over, I will be returning this.

    attractive,Delicate with FLIMSY, Expensive charger

I hava about 4 Mac's in my family. These computers a good and spring into action and are fast. They do not support lot of programs supported by Windows program, so I have 4 windows computers also. This is not the only down side for Macs their Chargers are Super "FLIMSY". All our chargers for MAC book pro........ broke down. They just stop working, sometimes the wire layer starts peeling off. Its very very annoying. Everything looks attractive until it breaks down and you have to shell $80 per charger. My windows computer chargers are very durable and never gave me issues. We had to buy 4 new chargers for Mac's in a span of a month each one shelling $80, thats so ridiculous.

    Horrible laptop.

From the minute I pulled this thing out of the box and powered it up, i was immediately displeased. OT took forever to set up and with my main purpose for getting this being for music purposes, I could not add specifications to individual songs outside of iTunes. I had to add the song to my iTunes then hurry up and add the song information before it got added onto the iCloud with no information. Also, could not use YouTube on safari. Brand new computer and it already had issues five minutes in.

    Slow from day one!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Purchased for college Fall semester 2015. First mac and was required for my daughter, a music major. This was a model approved by Berklee College of Music so I felt confident in my choice. It has been slow since day one in the most basic of tasks like starting up, and opening applications. She has spent hours on the phone with apple, and most recently they had her change settings so it doesn't automatically backup files in encrypted form, which she had no idea it did. It performed somewhat better since then. But, she uses Logic X pro and Pro Tools for recording and lately it has taken to crashing during recording resulting in her losing those recordings, and it was a single vocal track. We have an appointment with the apple store this coming Sunday, which doesn't help much because she has projects due and midterms. I thought $1100 bucks bought a great computer. I was wrong. My daughter said if she could throw it off the roof, she would.

    speed poor

I am very disappointed. I had used window before and windows systems is much better than mac. In the windows system, I can do different grafics, open and move easily from one document to another document without problem. However, I had a lot of problem editing documents in the mac. Mac laptop is very slow open document and Internet. Although I have internet system faster (105mbs per second), this computer mac doesn't support this speed. I spent a lot of time doing works in this mac. I prefer to keep with my windows systems. The price is cheaper with more capacity of store and velocity. Honestly, I didnt recommend this computer to my friends. If you are a person who depends of a computer to do your tasks, please thinks other alternatives computers and compare.

Operated for all of two months

I've been a PC user for the last ten years. My wife convinced me that I should pay twice the PC price for a new MacBook Pro for her new business. After two months of use, the computer became a paperweight. It suddenly died one night with plenty of battery life remaining. I took it to a local Apple store and sent if off for service. After picking the computer up from the Apple store, it operated correctly for approximately four hours before becoming a paperweight again. I will not waste my time or hard earned money on another Apple piece of junk. Save your money and your time. Save yourself a lot of hassle and buy a new PC every three years not to deal with the hassle of dealing with Apple equipment.
