I bought this laptop for graduate school and it's great so far. It's lightweight and very fast. The only downside is the touch pad; it's clunky to use and takes some getting used to. Of course, the screen is small, but that's the trade off for a lower price and lighter laptop.

Very portable to bring everywhere you go. I bring it to school and home all the time.

Great computer! Easy set up. The DVD drive does make it a little heavily but I use it only at home so not a problem for me.

I've been procrastinating about this purchase just because of the price but I love the laptop. I haven't had any problems, 7 hour battery life is great, it's light weight, has added security, and gives off plenty of light. I would recommend this to anyone, especially students.

Easy to learn. Instructions are simple. Customer service is great. No problems so far. Brought as my final laptop for years to come based on a friend's recommendation. I have no regrets. Love the fact it fix in my purse and not hassles getting through airport security.

Purchased this computer to start school. I used Windows for about fifteen years, and this is one of the easiest computers I have ever used! you can dual boot windows if you wish, you still get Microsoft Office, most of your programs are available for Mac as well, and if not, you can dual boot windows. Most of your shortcuts on windows (cut, copy, paste, etc.) are the same, you just use the command key instead of control. Any keyboard or mouse you had on windows still works with this computer, just the windows button on keyboards becomes the command key, and the alt key becomes the option key. Compared to it's retina display cousin, the plain old MacBook Pro has much more computer, for much less. The multitouch gestures are so easy to learn and get used to, as well! The only bad thing I have to say about it is the dual display function is limited, but once OS X Mavericks is released, the issue will be fixed. This is a fantastic computer!

The computer is great. I knew it would be because I am a huge apple fan. I have an iPhone, iPad, iPod, and now a macbook pro. When I bought my computer I was told it was an open box product. I debated for awhile but after being ASSURED numerous times that it was thoroughly checked and restored to factory settings, I decided to purchase it. Once I got it home though, it was a different story. Best buy's "amazing" geek squad deleted apps that came stock on the computer, and there were other things that were messed up on the computer. The computer was great but I would not recommend going through best buy to buy one. I will never buy anything more than a movie or cd through them.

If you're looking for a basic laptop with lots of memory and don't need to be too fancy then get this, it really is great.

This was a great gift for my son who is in college, it will definitely be around for graduation in 3 years, unlike a PC!

the MacBook pro is a great laptop, it takes hardly any effort to use. I use it for recording and it operates flawlessly.
