I had to buy the Macbook Pro for graduate school after the other Macbook I got for free for undergrad became unreliable. It was expensive, but after my other Macbook lasted for 5 years, I feel confident that it is well worth the investment. I also got a good deal as a student. I didn't want to go with another brand because I have seen how easy to use and reliable Apple laptops are. I like the Pro because it is comfortable to use, is sturdy, and has the ability to do all the things I need for school (running statistics programs and reading/saving a lot of scientific literature) and in general. Unlike the Macbook, the casing material is sturdy and difficult to scratch. The only complaint I have is that my shoulders have been sore from carrying it in my backpack all the time. I would have bought the Air but I needed the cd drive and liked the bigger screen.

Having been a Mac desktop user in the past, this is my first MacBook Pro laptop. I am very satisfied with the speed, functionality and ease of use. I realize there are newer versions of the MacBook available ~ however I selected this one because it has a built in CD drive. Downloads amazingly take only a nanosecond! I highly recommend this product.

This computer is amazing. I wasn't sure about buying it because of the high price but it is really worth it. One of the best features is the battery life which lasts about 7 hours (my last computer's battery lasted an hour and a half). The display is great and I love the sife because it is really comfortable and also easy to transport. It is really easy to use and I love the trackpad!

I bought the Apple-MacBook Pro - Intel i5 13.3 inch Display - 4GB Memory - 500 GB Hard Drive - Silver. It is the perfect size for a laptop-not big/not to small. The set up was extremely easy and it automatically connected to my other Apple devices (sync). I bought it over the Black Friday weekend so the price was right! I am super satisfied!

This product is very easy to navigate and so far I love the product . I had to purchase this computer for school , but I have been told many times this computer will last forever.The features are very appealing , and the sound is great.Battery life is also a plus , and the color of the screen is awesome . I am very happy with my purchase !!!

We have a total of three laptops in our household: Toshiba A505-S6025, Mid-year 2009 Macbook Pro 13 in(SSD upgrade), and the new 2013 Macbook Pro 13 in(SSD upgrade). My old i3 processor Toshiba just sits in the corner collecting dust right now while the two MB's are being used. The reasons why we love using the mac instead of the pc is due to these reasons: reliable OS, long battery life(7 hrs on new MB & 2-3 hrs on old MB), MB speakers sound much better than our toshiba's, MB touchpad is buttery smooth and 100% consistent, 100% reliable sleep mode, blazing fast performance with Samsung 840 SSD upgrade(10-15 second to boot & apps pull up instantly). Our Toshiba has an 1hr battery life, unreliable sleep mode takes forever to pick up wifi and pull up apps and sometimes freezes, crashes, and unreliable touchpad that works when it wants to. The new MBP looks and feels just about the same as our old MBP. The only differences the new MB has are the thunderbolt port and magsafe 2. You can use a magsafe 1 on the new MB, btw. We already tried. Performance wise, we can't see that much of a difference between the two upgraded MB's. At the same time, we don't do any serious video or photo editing. We just netflix, surf the internet, write docs, and read pdf's. If you have an extra $100 bucks to upgrade to an SSD on your MB, do it. It's really worth the upgrade. There are lots of sources online for DIY-ers. Or just bring it into an apple store. We notice a huge difference in how blazingly fast our apps(1 sec for itunes), folders(1 sec), webpages(1sec) load with the SSD. If you have an old 2009 Mid-year MBP and thinking about getting a new MBP, I would suggest keeping your old mac and upgrading to an SSD instead. If you're upgrading from an old pc to new MBP, do it. You'll be very happy with the change to a Mac.

I usually use my Mac for dj and it's amazing it works perfectly it doesn't freeze or mess up at all. I also use at home watch movies and it is outstanding the battery is good lasts awhile and does not get hot at all I will recommend this to anybody it's worth the money!!!

The Mac Book Pro is a durable, fast, easy to use machine!

I actually bought this MacBook Pro for my mom. She absolutely loves it! She had a different MacBook that was about 5 years old, and this new one is faster and easy to use and has such a crisp picture! I love Apple products! Would highly recommend this over a pc any day!

This computer was purchased for college use. The computer is lighter than the one that it is replacing and much faster. Screen resolution is ideal, speed is faster than what was actually needed, hopefully it will make it through 4 years of college. I am considering purchasing one for another family member, very impressive laptop.

I actually hesitated very much because of the cost and its heaviness, but I am glad that I purchased it. It isn't as heavy as I thought. Since I just bought it i wouldn't know how long it will last me, but i am hoping my all 4 college years and possibly grad school as well. That is what I have been hearing from other mac users as well.

I bought the MacBook Pro to replace my MacBook that I had for nearly 8 years. Already, it shows the durability of Mac that I kept it for 8 years with no serious issues. I purchased the open box MacBook Pro to save a few dollars. Overall I have been impressed and enjoyed it. Transferring my files and profile from my old mac to my new mac was easy and I was able to access them on the new Mac with no problem. I am planning to upgrade the hard drive to a solid state hard drive soon, but I am ok with the current hard drive. Overall I am happy with the purchase and hopefully I will have this laptop for another 8 years.

This is my very first major computer purchase, and i am beyond pleased with how easy it is to navigate through all the new icons in the toolbar. I am also very pleased with the quick speed it possess. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in making the right purchase when it comes to laptops.

Never have I been so impressed with a product. There have been 4 or 5 different brand laptops I have worked with over the years. When I got in the market for a new one and really didn't know what I wanted but I defiantly knew what I didn't. My college aged son told me to go MAC! He was so right! I have had it over 3 months and it is wonderful. It's easy to use and so versatile. Re-training myself to use the apple software required no "training" at all. The software is so logical that whatever you are looking for is right where you would think it might be. The Battery life is excellent. the graphics are vivid, bright and vibrant. Having my new Mac Book Pro has been a delight. I haven't found anything negative about it yet!

fast, reliable, easy to use, user friendly. love it

This is my first Apple laptop and I really like it! I had a problem with the first one I bought at Best Buy because of wifi connectivity problems. They were able to give me a new one. The one I have right now does not have wifi problems, but I do feel that the fan is slightly louder or maybe it is just me. This has a really good battery life compared to my Toshiba laptop which only lasts less than 2 hours. It's great for school because it's very compact and durable. It is a little heavy when I put it in my bag though, but I didn't want to upgrade to Retina and I didn't want the Air either. Since I only have 4gb of ram, sometimes it lags when I have too many things up. One thing I don't like is that it uses a lot of memory on some applications.

Fast, easy to use. Also runs Windows or Linux using either Parallels or VMware Fusion and if you want an extra learning curve you can also use VirtualBox (free download) to run Windows and/or Linux. Great for Photos, Graphic, and word processors.

I owned many Window's based computers over the last 15 year and this was the first Apple laptop I have ever purchased and I will tell you it was worth the money. The reliability, free OS upgrades, and the speed is sick. You have to buy one.
