This is the second Apple laptop we have chosen for the house. When my son started college, we decided to upgrade to the MacBook Pro just to get mine back. It's speed, clarity and ease of use made this an easy choice. Also, utilized Best Buy online for Black Friday pricing.

I bought this Mac pro to use for audio/music tracks for our worship team. I dont think I need to tell you how good Macs are, you probably already know that by now. The reason I bought the 4gb ram model is because it is super easy and more economical to upgrade the ram to 8gb yourself. Found 8gb ram for this mac model online for $65. Unscrew the bottom cover off. Remove the 2 original ram and replace with new ram. Screw the bottom cover back on and turn on your machine. It instantly recognized the new ram. Easy upgrade.

This was my first Apple based computer experience ever. I have to say it was very simple to start, sync accounts, and get rocking and rolling with using. The GUI is very user friendly and the system is lightning fast. A great value and would highly recommend again!

This MacBook Pro is a go to workhorse. It is fast enough and has lots of memory. This is a proven computer and it's positive feedbacks from other buyers made my choice simple. I wanted a laptop for our daughter for school as well as video and music. Perfect.

The Mac program is so simple and straight forward. Updates are easy and free! Light weight is nice. Love the light up keys! I wish the battery life was longer but other wise I have no complaints!

This laptop was a steal! The amount of storage was awesome. It doesn't have an HDMI port. But the clarity of the screen is great. This is my first Macbook/Mac product and setting up was easy.

Macbook Pro is best laptop ever i used. This is my first Macbook easy to use, efficient very long battery life i had used Toshiba ,dell before nothing close to Macbook once to use for few days you don't use any other brand really worth money paid for .

This is the best computer on the market today... I love the size and the performance and just a great price for a MAC - as they can be costly!!!!!

Pros: As with pretty much any Mac, its a well engineered product. Excellent included Mac productivity/software suite. For what we use it for, it's great. Best of all it still has an optical drive. Cons: It's a Mac and with that brand name comes a pretty hefty price tag. Could purchase an entry level gaming laptop at this price. Uses a really slow mechanical hard-drive. Boot times are annoyingly long. For the price point I believe an SSD would be a reasonable request. Only has 4 Gigs of mediocre speed DDR3 ram. Again at this price point, an eight Gig kit would be reasonable. Other Thoughts: I believe Mac went with some really basic hardware and slapped it into an incredibly solid chassis along with a really hefty price tag on it, but that's the name of the game these days. I've owned several PC laptops over the years, and they feel like toys compared to Mac's build quality. Also, for what my family uses this laptop for the included productivity suite means we don't need to spend more money on MS office, that softens the initial sticker shock a bit. I would highly recommend this particular laptop for home & student lite productivity, but would advise against this model for anything much beyond that.

I've always been a windows type of person but I decided to switch over to Mac and I don't regret it. I like the software and it runs nice. I use it mainly for my school work and it's great! Easy to bring with you too. My only problem was the track pad. It wasn't responding but I brought it over to Apple and they fixed it for free because I'm in warranty still. Other than the trackpad issue, I love my macbook pro! :)

I've been very happy with my new MBP. I did upgrade my ram to 16GB which I picked up and installed myself. I recommend running at least 8gb of ram with the Yosemite. My battery life improved to after I upgraded ram. So far I do not miss my HP

I love this computer. I haven't had a Mac in awhile, so I am still getting used to it. However, I like how quickly it operates, ease of use, and that it compatible with my other apple devices.

I wanted to replace my MacBook Pro that I purchased in 2007 and this was the perfect choice. While at 13 inches it is considerably smaller than my 17 inch machine, it can still do everything that the original can do and so much more. I am now going to invest in Final Cut X to produce my home movies and I already use it to create newsletters for my job using pages. It is very fast in every way and the color is vivid.

I bought this laptop as a replacement for my 2009 MacBook. Compared to my old laptop, this new one is lighter with a sharper picture. The light-up keyboard is a nice feature as well. Like all other MacBooks, it was easy to set up and use.

Have been using this laptop for 3 weeks and love it. Not very heavy and comfortable weight to handle. When i first saw it, was very amazed about how light it is as I was using a Windows laptop before! Great design and quality from Apple

I really like this Mac. Just making the cutover from windows. Two recommendations: 1) This is an updated older model design, which makes it a less expensive way to go Mac. Plus, unlike the newest Macs, it has a DVD player/burner. It is good as it is, but if you really want to make it go zoom. Replace the hard drive with an SSD and max out the RAM at 16GB. You will really enjoy the result. Best Buy can help with those upgrades. You can do it yourself for about $200 if you watch the Best Buy sales. Geek Squad will probably do it for a fee, but I found it fairly simple to do myself after watching YouTube instructional videos. 2) While iMovie is an excellent free app, If you are buying Mac because you want to make home video DVDs. Apple no longer supports the iDVD function that was included in the Mac package, so you'll have to do get a 3rd party product to use to burn DVD with menus and chapters of your iMovie productions. This was my only disappointment, but it was a biggie since video DVD production was a main reason I switched over. 3) Overall I really like it. Of particular note, this keyboard is really smooth under your fingers and i like it a lot, ... the mouse pad takes a bit of getting used to if you are just cutting over from windows, but works very well. This machine just says "quality" every way you look at it. Excellent machine, though Apple could make me a lot happier if the ability to burn home movie DVDs with chapters and menus were included as part of the package.

Though this is not the newest model, this is a great computer. It is perfect for people that don't necessarily need the retina display. It is light enough to carry and has a long battery life so it is great for school or travel.

I have had pc laptops but have iPhone and iPad and wanted a compatible device. I am very happy so far. It is fast and easy to navigate
