I used to use the Alienware before because I love gaming but its OS sometime is unstable and I have to restart it every time it gets unstable. That is why i change to use Macbook with OS X because 2 things. First of all, the OS X is really stable; i am also impressed by OS X Marverick by the way it works. The Marverick boosts up the Macbook's OS without upgrading the hardware. It makes OS run faster and save more energy. Second, the Macbook's system holds a long charge so that i can take it wherever i go without bringing my charger. the other branded computer as ASUS, DELL, IBM, ACER usually hold about 2-3 hours maximum so I have to bring the charger everything i go out. One day, when I saw the Macbook pro rentina, i knew i met my guy. The screen is absolutely clear and beautiful more than i can describe. It looks like you cut your Ultra HD TV off and add a keyboard to it. For this system, It holds longer charge than previous systems so you can watch more movie if you are on the long flight. Moreover, with 4th core i5 and the Iris graphic card integrated, you can play more good games such us Daiblo 3, Dota 2 with medium settings. I have tested those game on my system and they work just fine. You can't ever know what i am feeling now until you get your hand on this system. Lets give it a try and i think you will spend your money at the right place

Its a good laptop, supporting great streaming speeds for browsing, uploading & streaming videos. Its a good machine to support efficient performance in terms of multitasking.

i bought my mac lop tap, I'm so happy to get my computer the service was great and geek squad was very helpful, they helped me to understand how to use my mac.

Use this for travel mostlyplays good with my wacom but cant load much data in there. Guess itll be another year when ssds come in a bit cheaper.

Let me just say that I have been a PC guy since I got my first computer. I am GLAD I switched to MAC. This machine is AWESOME! I own an ASUS as my primary gaming/productivity machine but it doesn't compare to this machine. This computer is lightning fast, very portable, beautiful, has amazing battery life and the user experience is superior to any other computer/tablet product I have ever used. A perfect companion for general use and can even handle some tougher applications like the adobe products. Primarily I use it for web browsing, watching videos, Adobe Suite application use, Running game emulators on the go, apps, music, etc. I can do just about everything on this machine except play hardcore video games. Which is fine, that's not what this machine is built for. The only thing I DID NOT like about the product is the fact that it slides around whatever surface it's sitting on. The little rubber stoppers on the bottom of the machine don't do a great job at keeping it from sliding around a flat surface. Then again I'm very picky. Overall I recommend this machine for anyone looking for a perfect companion. If you are looking for something of a portable gaming rig, this is NOT the product to get.

No regrets purchasing this rMBP. Its lightweight, looks and feels like a quality built machine that would be able too withstand accidental drops. Selling point is the newly redesign internals making it more efficient, with the boot up clocked around 5-8 seconds an applications opening in a flash it's considered by many to be top choice due to reliability. The machine stays abnormally quite making me question if the fan is working but ended all doubts after realizing how cool it surprisingly stayed. The excellent battery life completes the already exceeded remarks making this incredible machine the most bang for your buck.

Got this laptop to replace a previous generation of the Macbook, the 13,3in non-retina. Just the retina itself is worth the purchase. There is no comparison between it and any other display. The colors are bright and vivid and the screen is sharp. It's very good on the eye. Next thing you know, you became a display snob, which means, nothing less then retina will do the deal for you. Besides that, this machine is a power house. Very fast ans responsive, this laptop was my first experience with SSD storage and I'm just impressed. I have an 21.5 iMac and the Macbook starts and perform the same actions faster. I get frustrate at time when I have to wait for things to open on the iMac, as they did much faster on the Macbook. My only problem is the weigh. I spend sometime out of the house using my laptop and after a while you start feeling the weight. There is no comparison with a Macbook Air, but I wish the Air had a retina display, then, it would be just perfect.

This is my first store bought computer, I always built (Frankenstein-ed) PCs out of old used parts, I was given an HP Laptop in 2009, an HP G50 (2gb Ram, Vista, Pentium Processor.) It did not work until I put Windows 7 on it. Bam!... it worked spectacularly doing whatever I needed to do, but it got the Blue Screen of death last fall (September October 2013.) So I was out of a portable PC. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I needed to start shopping. I had wanted a Mac for quite some time but price was always a concern, luckily there was a sale and a Student discount for the MacBook’s so I bought this one, and boy is it awesome! I love Apple Products because of the simplicity of the User Interface, the design of the Computer itself, and their customer service is super good… (above any other company I know of.) I still use Windows because Macs don’t have all the same stuff; but honestly, I think they are better because of better security, more reliable, and much less buggy. I also don’t have to uninstall any ads that come pre-loaded like most Windows based PCs do. So that’s another point for Apple. All in all I highly recommend Apple Notebooks to PC due to being more future proof, better security, reliability is great, and spectacular customer service, so just in-case anything goes wrong with your Apple device (even if it’s a small question) Apple replies super politely and in a flash with great help and assistance. So add all that with a great product and you are set. MacBook Pro with Retina (late 2013.) I give this 4.9 out of 5 stars.

I was able to pick this up with a price match of Apple's Education pricing. Best Buy is really great about their price match program. I didn't get their protection plan because I figure Apple Care should suffice. I love the keyboard and the screen is amazing. You pay a premium for apple products, but I think it is worth it. This Macbook is really quick also. I don't think you will be disappointed with this purchase!

i just realize there isn't anything better than apple products in this world. since my age of 23 i have always used microsoft OS. after a job interview i had that i was asked how proficient i am with mac, i though it is time to try this thing. millions have been using this thing for a decade now. well i went to best buy and looked at every single mac out there. man i fell in love with the retina. what a quality. then i thought of comparing ultra books with mac. well any ultra book with large ssd drive and better than full hd pixels costed over 1000$. i was like how come? because apple had better screen quality, sound quality, design, operating system and it was just 1150$ with student discount at best buy!!!!! i am overall very very very very happy with this machine and thanks best buy for 150$ student discount on my mac!!!

I decided to buy this even though I just bought a Sony Vaio with Windows 8 at the end of last year. Windows 8 is the WORST operating system I have ever used and it made me decide to ditch PCs completely even though they are all I have ever used. I now have an iMac as my desktop, an iPhone 5S and now this. This laptop is lightening fast, the graphics are incredible, and the battery life is all I'll ever need. I don't think I will ever go back to PCs and Windows. I'm hooked. Best decision I ever made.

I was originally planned to buy macbook air due to portability and battery life. However, when i saw $200 promotion during black friday, the price of macbook pro was at price of macbook air. So i decided on macbook pro. As of portability, its fantastic due to its light weight, small size, and battery life!

I've been waiting to purchase this computer since the summer of 2013. This MacBook has been all that I expected and more! The new Haswell chip definitely takes it up a notch. The only downside is that if you're accustomed to using bright settings, don't expect the battery to last the 9 hours that Apple claimed during the product launch. Overall, I've found this computer to perform wonderfully. FYI, I've owned 3 HP laptops previously and I can already tell that this will, by far, be the best laptop I've ever purchase. If you're thinking about it, I would say go ahead and buy it!

Been a PC guy nearly all my life, but I've been interested in Mac hardware and ease of use interface for my wife for several years now. Not happy with various laptops and mediocre quality of Windows OS, and got tired of building my own PC machines for home/game/small biz use long ago. Wife loves her iPad w/ Retina display, so this Christmas... Enter the MacBook Pro with Retina display. Found a small stash of the 13" unit at Best Buy with exceptionally helpful staff even on a busy Christmas shopping day. Fired it up and was instantly impressed with everything the MacBook Pro has to offer over nearly any Windows lappy. Comes with enough software to get Excel budget spreadsheets switched over to the Mac, Garageband to mix wife's music for Zumba classes, and of course, iTunes for the iPods. Definitely a large price jump from a Windows laptop, but worth every penny. Also was not pleased with the muddy look of the MacBook Air displays or MBP w/o Retina, so I was OK with paying more for the Retina display. If you can afford it, get it!

I got it on Black Friday at $1099 - pretty good deal. Anyway, I've owned this MBP Retina for over a month and it is everything I expect from Apple from the features to performances. This Macbook Pro is lightning fast. I love the clarity of the screen. The battery is amazing as well. If you are doing the research to buy a computer, I would recommend this one; you won't regret.

I cannot believe I waited years before switching. I used to comment how bad I though Apple was. But this macbook has blown my mind away. So easy to use. I picked up the gestures and how to use the computer in the first day. Everything works and this computer is FAASSTTTT. I will NEVER go back.
