Nothing at all negative to say. Just a question of which model fits your needs best. It is super fast, battery life is even better than expected, very light. And runs very cool. Retina display definitely makes a difference for this 48-year-old's eyes. Did not think for one second of returning it. Wish I made the change from Windows machines many years ago. I have an iMac, desktop, that is six years old and runs just as fast as the day I bought it. If it was a Windows machine, I would've had to replace it maybe twice by now.

This is my second MacBook Pro (other one lasted 6 years) and again, the quality is great. It is fast, light & the screen is amazing. I am a casual user so surfing the web and watching Netflix are my most common uses - and it is great for both!

As an avid Mac user and Apple fan, I always meet the yearly updates with a bit of skepticism. I'd planned on getting the new MacBook as an upgrade to my MacBook Pro (2011), but was sad to check out the specs. It's far too costly of a machine for such poor performance! So, I decided to go with the MBP with Retina instead. This MacBook with Retina (2015) has exceeded all my expectations. The sharpness of images, processing speed and new Touchpad are worth the investment. Even better, I was able to get mine at $200 off at BB. Check it out! You won't regret it!

Purchased this apple laptop for my teenage daughter who was able to figure it out very easily. It is very light and sleek. It is portable so that it can be taken anywhere. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small portable computer.

I was downgrading from a 15.6" Lenovo laptop and this was my choice. It is so portable, powerful, and the screen is amazing. HIGHLY recommended for any college student (or anyone for that matter) who plans on being portable with their laptop.

Was considering the new MacBook but found it to be just too thin and was skeptical about the keyboard not having enough depth so I decide on the MacBook Pro retina to upgrade from my MacBook Air which was just an Outstanding machine other than the screen which obviously isn't as sharp as the retina. My new MacBook Pro is what you'd expect from Apple , outstanding build quality and a premium look and feel. It's simply no hiccup computing. It meets and exceeds my needs and as an apple family we own countless iPads ,iPhones , Apple TV, and MacBooks. Never disappointed and always an easy decision to stick with Apple. I strayed 2 years ago and bought a surface pro 3 just to switch it up and quickly found the same lag , and glitchyness common to Windows pcs and laptops and my model was top of the line i7 8 gig ram 256 ssd.

So i was debating between the 2015 and 2016 model. Both was down $400 due to price match. 2015 $800 and 2016 $1,000. One had the ports and light apple logo that i love yet only 128GB drive. The later was newest model, slicker, space gray, slightly faster, 256GB drive but only 2 usb-c ports. So i ordered both thanks to BB's friendly return policy. I took the 2015 model that same day in the store and the other wouldnt be available until 1 week. Good enough for me i could try each for 7 days. Note - this was my first Macbook. But have been Iphone and Ipad owner for 5+ years. From the getgo i can tell i would never go back to PC. It booted so fast after initial software update. I downloaded Microsoft Office, photo edit apps and an internal temperature app because MacBook heating up concerned me. Also i downloaded steam along with some games. Some documents from OneDrive and i was set to go. However I had already taken up 80GB out of the 128GB in the Macbook. I wrote some papers, woked on excel sheets, edited pictures, played rocket league with a PS4 controller. I was really liking my new Macbook. I then downloaded some pics and my memory was over 100GB taken. And then when i started thinking that i would probably need the 2016 model with 256GB. The next day i went to pick up the 2016 MacBook Pro. I did software update, tranfered backup from the 2015 to this one and wallah super fast startup. I really loved the slickness of the 2016, smaller stature, thinner and .5lb reduction makes a huge difference when carrying around in your hand. When i saw the memory was still plenty i knew i was keeping the 2016. I ordered a usb-c to usb adapter for $10 and i was set. 2015 vs 2016 Like the ports of 2015 but would never use them I love the keyboard on the 2016. I type faster Love the size of the 2016 and slick clean look Battery wise i would say 2016 lasted more on my tests Bottom line-if you can spear a couple $100 extra get the 2016. Why i didnt go for 2017? It woulf have cost me an extra $500 to get 256GB so $1,000 for 2016 model and brand new was a steal.

I love this computer, it's my 4th MacBook and I purposefully bought the last model to have all the regular ports because I did not want to have to use USB C adapters for everything, which would make it quite difficult to use it as a true laptop. I wanted it to be truly portable and easy to use with the cables I already own. I love the retina screen, I used to own the air and there is no comparison in the beauty of the retina vs. the air. Yes, I am an Apple fangirl but that's because everything just works so seemlessly together. I can text, take phone calls, access my iMac all from my MacBook and that's just the icing on the cake. The Mac let's you do so much more than Windows, which I have used for years at work, but prefer the Mac for my personal use.

I own the MacBook Pro 13-inch, mid-2010. This new one is significantly faster, much slimmer and lighter and just a beauty. I love my old machine still as it's held up very well, like all Apple products tend to, but this one's even better.

Build Quality, Performance and Long Life

I've come from many years as a PC user. Since 11 years old till I was 29-30 I owned a PC. I'm 39 now. It started off as every 3 years I found myself upgrading to the latest and greatest because my PC started to bog down in performance. Then it became almost every 1.5 years and then gradually every year. Thousands of dollars gone. Thats when I decided to give Apple Macbooks a shot since they seem well built and everyone using them raved about it from quality, performance and longevity. I was skeptical because of the price tag and about Apple since growing up in the 80's Apple wasn't all that great and IBM was king. Since I made the switch 9-10 years ago I've only gone through 2 Macbooks! First one was a used Macbook Pro 17" to try out in case I didn't find Apple computers are for me. That used one, even though it was 2003 model and I purchased it in 2007 still was just as fast if not faster than any PC laptop and/or desktop during that time! It was astonishing to me how it could keep up with newer technology! I had it for another 4 years after the purchase and in 2011 it still kept up with the latest and greatest of 2011! That's when I knew Apple computers was were I will be staying for a very long time. No more every year upgrades because in 10 years my Macbook will still keep up with the latest and greatest of the future plus have a good return when I sell it! No constant viruses to worry about, blue screens of death, overheat issues, power supply issues and build quality to worry about. My review is to assure you that what you are paying for is quality, performance and longevity. There will be people who don't agree and thats fine with me. They are missing out. I purchased this 13" Macbook Pro Retina for my girlfriend and its replacing the one she has had for over 6 years. It's very fast and perfect for someone looking for a lighter Macbook Pro to carry around for work or school. It's got the nice Retina screen which made this laptop even thinner than the earlier 13" Pro's and ONLY .5lbs heavier than the Macbook Air. For future proof and many possibilities I chose the Pro over the Air. You can't go wrong with a Macbook Pro!

This is my first MacBook but I have been using iPads and iPhones for the last 5 years. I decided to take a look at the Macs after using my girlfriend's MacBook Air for a week. Screen is sharp and crisp and I prefer the keyboard over my previous HP. I use the computer for online classes and sometimes for work and it has no problem handling anything I throw at it. Battery is excellent and overall I am extremely pleased that I decided to step up and purchase a Mac. If any issues arise I will update my review accordingly. In addition, if you decide to clean it: use a microfiber cloth and water. Anything else will destroy the screen.

This is an apple product so you should already know you are paying a high price. This laptop is well worth it. It is very sleek and easy to use. Great battery life, excellent resolution and coloring, and feels good to type on and the trackpad is very responsive. Along with great hardware you get great software. I thought I would have to keep my pc to work on word and PowerPoint but you can read all the main types formats and even convert them to word all with the standard pre installed programs. The laptop is even more amazing when you have an iPhone because you can make calls and send texts all from the laptop as if it was the phone.

So far the machine has been seamless. Beautiful design and powerful. The Retina Dislay is very nice. We've had iPhones and iPads but this is first Mac book so there is a learning curve, be patient if that's the case. Fully integrated now with phones and Apple TV. Separately, we had an issue with our Apple IDs but apple support was very helpful and it seems now we have iTunes and other content organized. If family has Apple phones Mac is highly recommended

We are long-time PC users. We have grown tired of watching the start-up and shut-down times increase--same with program load times and Windows updates. We decided to try another option and much of what we studied and most of those we spoke to recommended MacBooks. We spent time talking to sales associates at the Apple Store and also at Best Buy. They were very helpful and the sales associates from both locations were excellent at pointing us in the direction of the right laptop, according to our laptop use and desired purposes. Having iPhones, iPads, Apple TV and Apple Watches we bit the bullet on this MacBook due to Best Buy's incredible price. Coming from Windows computers we worried about OS differences and a learning curve. Between YouTube videos and Google articles (and friends who use MacBooks) we haven't struggled at all. And we really haven't needed to use those resources very often. At this point, we're hooked! And I'm not sure we'll go back. The computer has a super solid build and screams "quality" when being held or hefted. The screen resolution is also excellent (something that mattered for photo editing with Photoshop). Another significant selling point for us (coming from Windows laptops) is the familiarity of the ports on the side. Aside from there not being an ethernet port (an adapter can be purchased that works through a USB port) the ports "feel" like the laptops we have had previously and we don't need to purchase multiple dongle adapters the way we would with a newer and more current MacBook. The processor is snappy and so is the overall computer performance. We initially worried about the cost of the computer with relatively small storage space but with cloud storage, eternal hard drives, and even SD port storage, our worries have been unwarranted. The computer is perfect for our needs and it is thrilling to know that it will perform as well in 3-4 years from now as it does right now. We simply love the MacBook.

I'm a daily laptop user for work and this is light enough to carry any where with me. This computer is fast enough that I'm never frustrated about how long it takes to do something. So far the only thing I would change would be the ability to add more ram or a larger hard drive after purchase. However, that's how Apple has designed this item. The display is bright, the cord is plenty long enough to reach any outlet I've attempted to reach, and the sound is good coming from the built in speakers.
