My G4 Powerbook died a couple years ago. Because of the change to Intel compatible software by Apple Inc I decided not to have it repaired. I limped along just using my iPhone since then. But I missed being able to actually arrange my music on iTunes and decided I should bite the bullet and get a new Laptop. This MacBook Pro is a real gem. Small enough to carry easily and lots more processing power than what I had before, the solid state HD is a plus, and the Retina display is just eye candy. It has lots of features I remember and lots more that are new. I guess the best part is I could use the Time Machine backup drive from the G4 to upload my old files and my whole music and video library. Another really nice feature is the extremely price effective list of accessories, like the SuperDrive. All in all I am back on track with an excellent product.

I absolutely love the MacBook Pro!! I am a long-time windows user and just recently switched to the Mac for some programming work I have been doing. Everything about this computer is amazing. The display, the speed, the applications. There is something else too - it's just a joy and a pleasure to use. It is so elegant and beautiful that you just can't help but enjoy the user experience. Almost everything on the Mac is pretty straightforward. There are a few things I have had to Google (like shortcut keys), however, overall the transition has been very easy. I would recommend this product to everyone. I very seriously doubt that I will ever buy another PC again. I think I am officially Mac for life!

This is a great computer. The screen is crisp and vivid, the keyboard is tactile and responsive, the battery lasts and lasts, the speakers are surprisingly loud, and the trackpad, with its Force Touch and multi-touch gestures, help make this one of the best experiences I've ever had with a portable computer. For college students like me, this will satisfy a wide variety of needs (ranging from note-taking to programming). Even though it was quite expensive, I have no regrets purchasing this product.

best machine for a programmer. i would recommend this to every student. best battery backup, great design, lightening fast.

I'm quite satisfied with this macbook. I had bought a HP laptop less that a year before this one but I'm not a fan of Windows so I wasn't quite happy with that plus even though it was a 4 GB RAM it was pretty slow. This macbook however is even better than my mac desktop. The keyboard makes fast typing easy. It doesn't make any noise (at least not now). The only downside was the price which was quite high for me as a student, but I think if I can use it for a couple of years that will pay off

This laptop is fast. I have been using it for 2 months and I am higly satisfied with its performance. All apps run really fast and the battery gives really long backup. The storage might be an issue for some users, but 128 GB is more than enough for me. Retina display is really good. Overall a great laptop.

This is the fifth Mac edition to the home. I dread spending the money on Apple products but they end up worth it to me. I thought the Retina display was not that big of a deal until my wife was working on it with my older MacBook Air beside - what a difference. She works with photographs and I officially lost rights to use it! It's snappy, elegant, light and packs into every bag we have with ease. It pops open ready to work and doesn't crash like my colleagues' PCs. I'm a fan.

Can't say enough about this computer. It's fast, reliable and intuitive--like Macs are supposed to be. Highly recommend!

There is not much to say this laptop is the latest version of the 13 inch Retina MacBook Pro and it does not disappoint in any way. The battery life is amazing and good for whole day use. The trackpad is perfection and the keyboard is as good as anything else on the market. The intel Iris graphics are quite powerful and the retina display is amazing text is so easy to read and extra sharp.

This MacBook is not heavy at all and the screen is great. Not a lot of memory but other than that, I love this laptop!

I have had a windows pc before, that my sister gave me, and it eventually took about 15 minutes just to start up. The battery gave out and the replacement didn't hold a long charge. I know my Macbook Pro w/ retina display is very much new however the battery charge last a great while with full use of the web/apps and charger rather fast. The start up time and processing speed is very quick. This is my first MacBook Pro and there's a 99% chance I'll stay using a MacBook.

this is a very powerful easy to use laptop. 2.7 ghz processor makes it as fast as my iMac. Retina display is beautiful.

When I purchased this computer, I wanted something that would allow me to surf the web, watch HD video and create text documents. These are basic needs, and this computer delivers on all of them. As a bonus, it has a wonderful keyboard, track pad, and of course the Retina display. It gives me everything I need in a beautiful compact package. No complaints, no regrets. Five stars.

I have always been a PC user in my corporate day job, and used a Mac as my personal computer. I recently purchased this Macbook Pro to function as my main computer. I have to say, thus far it has far exceeded all of my expectations. I do not suffer from freezing, lags, or the blue screen anymore. I would highly recommend making the move to anyone considering finally ditching their PC!

This laptop has great performance. Its really fast and light! Apple makes hardware that lasts a really long time.

This was my first Mac computer and I was excited to open it up and start learning how the Mac world works. Out of the box the computer wouldn't charge probably so I had to talk to Apple, not once but twice. After several attempts to fix the issue, the support staff instructed me to return it to the store as it was defective and they couldn't tell me which part was not working properly. So I went the next day and exchanged the computer for a new one and it has worked great the whole time. It's a new world for an ibm gal but it's a great computer with a fantastic battery life and a great display. I don't regret the purchase even with the complications with the first one. The cord does come out easily if bumped, though I realize that's the purpose but I think it's a little too easy to remove. Also after opening the lid, you have to wait a minute or so before the unit connects back to your wireless signal which can be a pain when the computer appears to be up and running fully. All in all it's a nice system and once I get used to the ins and outs I'm sure I'll like it just fine.

This was an upgrade from a PC laptop that wasn't suiting my needs anymore. Very portable, lightweight and fast.

I ended up taking this one back and getting one with more space! 128 gigs is just not enough. I bought an external hard drive to extend the space, but that still did not satisfy me. Retina is the thing that sold me quickly - with being a photographer, I needed a beautiful screen! Apple offers so much with their Macs, though I love my windows computer too. Keeping them both! Never going to convert to one or the other. Great job on the Retina, Apple! It's beautiful.

This is a great laptop that isn't too big or too small. It's fast and light. Everything you'd expect from Apple.
