It's been almost 2 years of multiple hour per day usage of my MacBook. Still has great battery life, storage has been amazing and just over all happy with it. I love the size, not too big, not too small. We have flown with it, perfect size to use for movies. I sometimes miss a CD/DVD option, overall and 99% of the time I never think about using it. We are an Apple family, I'm glad I chose the MacBook.

I needed a new laptop for college and I did not want another Windows machine. This laptop was a great fit for me: I'm not a gamer at all, I don't keep lots of files (pictures, movies, etc.) locally on this machine- I have all that on external drives. I really only need to use it for completing my online course material, as well as for creating & saving papers. It comes preloaded with an amazing suite of Apple programs that allow you to accomplish pretty much anything a college student will need to, and when you also want to stream any content, the speakers are pretty decent and the Retina display is great! HDMI out lets me connect to virtually any TV. Two USB ports, two thunderbolt ports (I don't need them but for those that do, there's two of 'em) and a really cool track pad, the way the Force Touch Trackpad has some pretty cool technology behind, or rather under it. If you are looking for something that is NOT a Windows machine *and* have the money, this is a great investment- but please do try it at the store and make sure it's right for you. If you do any serious gaming, or like to save lots and lots of stuff directly to the hard drive, this may not be the machine for you. Oh, and last but not least, the battery life is pretty decent- at least during this first week. After the initial charge, I was able to unplug the machine and leave it in sleep mode, take it to school for 8 hours, and continue using it a little more at home before needing to plug back in... I don't feel compelled to bring the charger with me to class. I've done this for several days now. I would give it a 5th star if the price came down but you know, Apple......

Very impressive screen - excellent resolution. Light weight, powerful and very easy to get started.

The new MacBook Pro has all the power you need in a compact and portable design. My wife and I run a blog and she owns a 17" PC laptop. She's always complaining about carrying her heavy laptop to write on the go. I have no such complaints with my MacBook. It's light and I can process all of our photos while we are on location. This was a great buy!

Easy to use with easy accessibility of apps and programs. Clear picture, fast and great battery life.

First time Mac/Apple user. I have been PC lifer and had always said I would NEVER jump ship to Apple. But after three weeks all I can say is WHAT AN AWESOME SYSTEM! I love how it only takes around 13 seconds from pushing power button to being able to work. PC took forever! I have always heard about how the Apple products were highly rated but was afraid of learning a new system. I already have the Office 365 for my PC so I did transfer that to my Mac as most places still use Office products. After these past few weeks I feel pretty confident about navigating through the system. There are still some areas which I am not 100% about, but I didn't learn PC overnight either. The flow of OS X is VERY SMOOTH and the magic pad has allowed me to go without a mouse which I always used. I am not sold on iCloud yet as I have 1TB of OneDrive space with Microsoft. I did download Google Chrome but have been using Safari navigator at length. I feel the change from PC to Mac has been pretty seamless. Now if I can get my wife to leave it alone! :) Might have to get her one now after she keeps taking mine! It is a little more expensive than a regular PC but compared to a Surface, they are really close in price. If you are on the fence on getting one, GET ONE! You will not be disappointed!

I finally decided to make the switch to Mac and couldn't be happier. Yes, it costs more than most (if not all) PCs on the market, but this machine works perfectly. I already had an iPhone, and now everything runs seamlessly between my devices, and I can send texts from my laptop making communication a breeze. The machine is fast, has a great picture, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to make the switch.

I do have to admit. Macs are quite pricy and if you're just getting them to surf the web, I wouldn't recommend them. Also, they're not really built for gaming either. I tried playing Diablo III on here and even with the graphics on low, it was still a bit laggy. However, if you're going to use it for what macs are intended for (i.e. music, photo/video editing, production, etc.) then I wouldn't recommend anything other than a mac.

I used to be a big windows user and would always stop short of buying apple products due to all the negative posts from fanboys who say apple is restrictive. Apple products end up being the best ease of use tech I've boughten so far. My laptop is speedy with great support, great apps and a fluid OS. The learning curve is not hard at all just learning the shortcut commands. I'll never go back to a windows based piece of tech again.

Fast, light and easy to use. This is exactly what I was looking for to replace my old mac book.

It starts up in less then 30 seconds! Extremely fast! Very light also! I love this computer! I would like to see it come with a USB superdrive for the price. Not having the build in disk drive is great cause it makes it so much lighter, however, you pay $1,300 they should add on the superdrive (disk drive) being that apple makes the USB one! It would just save us $80 (the cost it is to buy one) when we are already paying the $1,300 for a computer. Also, I wish it would have a touchscreen option, being that it is becoming more and more standard these days.I also wish it came with cleaner for the screen and keyboard. Other then that I LOVE this computer!

I bought this laptop for my wife for xmas. I am a PC guy but after doing the research I realized that this mac has all the bells and whistles for a reasonable price. It has a pci storage card which is 2x faster than a ssd storage, hdmi port built in to stream 4k vidoes, 8gb ram more than enough for most folks, an awesome retina display and a 10hr battery. I couldnt be happier with the price I paid during the xmas sale.

Haven't dived into everything this laptop can do yet but straight outta the box this thing is super amazing..my last laptop was a toshiba satellite and this Mac is sooo much more advanced and user friendly than the satellite. I love that the charging plug is magnetic so it can just bend to detach rather than break should an awkward movement cause improper pressure on the cable. The display is pretty incredible with just how sharp the image is. Since I own an Apple iPhone 6 it makes since to have the Mac for the convenience of shared software. The nuances in the applications seem very intriguing and refreshing. I'm excited to play around more with it. When you register your smartphone and dial in all your email accounts and everything you have on the cloud it creates a seamless transition of information between your online activity as well as the activity on your smartphone. If my phone was not nearby I would see all the alerts and emails and texts/calls right on this computer while I was working on other things. Pretty convenient in a way that will allow you to not forget about important things while you multitask. That's all I got for now hope it helps.

My first Mac. I will never go back to a pc laptop. Aesthetics: the Retina display screen is ridiculously sharp and beautiful. Fast processing speed. Quality material as it is a chunk of aluminum, not plastic. All day battery life. Love it.

I honestly love my MacBook!!! After being a Microsoft user for years and owning my notebooks which failed after 3 years, I think I have found a keeper. The MacBook is little weight and extremely efficient! My uses have been for school and professional uses. After two weeks I got hang of using and learning about my product more. I honestly will tell anyone, make the investment and you will be pleased with the return.

I researched Macs and PCs. This Mac has everything I was looking for; It is fast, has more capabilities than I will ever use, and it is sleek. I am amazed at how easy it is to use. I am so glad I chose a Mac over a PC. I purchased the Mac Pro with retina display. Very clear screen, vivid pictures. I highly recommend this product!

This is the third 13" MacBook Pro Retina in our household. Two are current generation and other is immediate prior generation. They are used for work, school, home, and travel. And they have never had any problems. Purchased first MacBook in 2009, which still runs well. During same time, Windows advocates in household went through four Windows laptops and one Windows desktop. Notably, in November 2015, purchased a current generation 15" MacBook Pro Retina. In less than 30 days, the screen stopped coming on upon startup. Returned it to Best Buy or another 15" Retina and same problem within 2 weeks. Called Apple Customer Support, which advised its technicians were aware of the issue and were still working on the issue almost eight months after its initial release. Told us that even though the 15" was purchased at Best Buy, we could exchange it at an Apple Store for another 15". But we returned it to Best Buy for another 13", which has worked flawlessly. So, recommend this 13" over the 15", and any Windows-based laptop. Also, recommend purchase at Best Buy, which has better prices than Apple Store and price-matches competitors.

I wish I had bought several of this model. It is the perfect combination of size, speed, reliability and ease of use. As with all my other Macs, this one will likely last many years but I'd like a spare just in case someone damages it. :-)
